show this the new buggati because I remember that this car is tunable to 1800hp back in the day just imagine how much power it can do now also buggati vs Suzuki would be the best race
I only remember this car because you could actually make it take off in Gran Turismo on Playstation. It was sick. You could get it to go like 300mph+ and if you angled the wings right it would then proceed to take off like a plane.
Yeah it was a physics bug in both GT and GT2 certain high performance race cars like the Escudo you could tweak the downforce and spring rates and get the “wheelie”. The Suzuki was the easiest to tweak to get the wheelie. Other cars like the Mazda 787 could do it too but it took tweaking lol. I remember back in high school a buddy and I spent a Friday afternoon lol hours testing and tweaking several cars to get them to wheelie. I’ve long forgotten our list that was like 22 years ago.
the escudo, aryton senna's lotus 97t, richard petty's superbird, the porshe 962, the mazda 787b, the shelby daytona coupe and all the GT40's are race cars that i wish i could own!
I remember this in gran turismo 2 (possibly 3 as well). Half the time it was all i used as it so ridiculously outpaced any of the competition. The turbo lag in the low RPM was a killer though so you had to constantly keep that high revving v6 on the boil.
Love this car but there are mistakes in this video:First of all, it lost in 1996 against rod millen's toyota celica who made the shortest full run the the history of pure dirt pikes peak (10:03:604). Tajima only broke the record when the road was 2/3 paved (10:01:408). The real victory was the 1995 twin-engined ver. When pikes peak was shortened by 3 miles from the top due to extreme weather; The top was snowing, thunderstorms arrived frequently on diff. Part of the track; during practice week only sections of the road can be practiced on at a time and tajima almost carshed the vehicle due to it storming and to the low visibility caused by the fog of the storm. But this escudo(95 2-engine ver.) Managed to have pulled through and beaten the rod's celica by 2-3 seconds with tajima's "Monster Suzuki" time being 07:53:000 straight, this model of escudo doesn't look like the current v6-500 models (1996-onwards).Secondly,the car on the vid. was the 1998 ver. Of the single mid-engined v6 model which lost continously in pikes peak from it's introduction in 1996 through it's last participation in 1999. Tajima's chassis since 1996-1999 was the same car he just changed the external design and upgraded the engine a bit each year; from 96's white/blue to 97's red/gray/black to 98 and 99's pure red( it's worth noting that the 99 model no longer wears the escudo name on the side but grand vitara instead for promotional reasons). It also participated in the Race to the sky(RTTS)formerly known as the Queenstown Goldrush (QGR) where the roles where reversed with tajima BEATING rod millen continuously until the escudo's retirement in 2000( it was this hill that became known as "Tajima's Mountain"). It was replaced in 2001 by the smaller escudo queenstown special in QGR while in pikes peak it was replaced by the slightly smaller and lighter but more powerful aerio pikes peak special (1000 hp vs 981 hp on the escudo '99 ver.). Its worth noting that Another ver. was used in 2001 though it was instead used by tajima's team mate yukata awazuhara (because tajima moved on to the aforementioned aerio) ,notable by its white stripes and racing no. 7(tajima's nos. were 6 & 1). Well thats my correction with correspondingly long history lesson of the vehicle. If more info wanted on this relative vehicle and it's successors, my sources on where i got my info, or pics of some models like the rare 95 escudo ver. Or even about the escudo's predecessor the cultus; just let me know
This is footage of him at the Race to the Sky in Cardrona, where Nobuhiro 'Monster' Tajima is returning in April to defend his title 8years since his last win! Aparently in a all-electric car this time..
I miss Gran Turismo 2 on the PlayStation.. I still remember the smell of the CD. They made it smell of burned rubber! Buying a second hand Honda NSX to start with to make money.. and then the tournament where you won a TVR Speed 12 every 5 races to sell.. good times.
Well, as the video is of Monster driving in the 1998 Race to the Sky in Rhys's home country of New Zealand... The 1996 Pikes Peak Escudo was white with blue markings.
This is insane!!!!A monster driving another monster that's huge!!!The Escudo is the real beast and the others are just steel and wheels that lift up the dust!!!
PCGamingMaster Race well due to overpowered acceleration it loses to the celica because of its lack of tractions later it was installed with a Traction control
Engineered and driven by Nobubiro "monster" Tajima. He engineered V6 Suzuki engine to produce 900++ hp with AWD. But there was a Suzuki car, made for crazy auto cross like this. Modified of Suzuki Cultus, the body kit almost the same. Then he use Aerio model for Pikes Peak ini early 2000. The next Suzuki model small mpv, X-cross for Pikes Peak.
It dominated Pikes Peak in 1996? Last time I checked, Rod Millen and his Toyota Celica dominated Pikes Peak in 1996. And I'm not sure what road they are on in the video, but it is not Pikes Peak.
At stock it is good only for rally, you need to modify some settings for it to behave well on the asphalt. Anyway, driving this on track is blasphemy :) try gt-one you win from gt world (random, you may need a few runs) or all gold s license.
I really mis the old days when this track was almost full gravel , now its paved over entire lenght and its not that sectacular anymore. The driver got some balls flying over abyss like that lol.
Best car in gran turismo 2
AgoProduction &Co *changes rally tires to racing tires
Yep. The wildest car to control and the fastest ini Gran Turismo 2.
loved that game. I still remember the smell of the CD. They made it smell of burned rubber!
In test course. Everything else, Get the GT-One instead.
@@asp1072 1000hp horrible speed !
This is the real Pikes Peak. Not the paved road they have now :(
It's both
+Seifer Almasy
That what i thought. Half n half ?
No, it's fully paved now...
JC Denton jaja spot on.... except IS NOT pikes peak, this is race to the sky in New Zealand, another beautiful event.
Welcome to the Oh yeah yeah coalition JC.
The official car for.. "Im going to beat you no matter what the road is like"
show this the new buggati because I remember that this car is tunable to 1800hp back in the day just imagine how much power it can do now also buggati vs Suzuki would be the best race
The Escudo would trash that sluggish Buggatti. :D
Megumin hahahaha , I'm guilty of that exact use of the beast
Oh hi there
Gt6 full tuned 1086hp machine is terrible already !
I only remember this car because you could actually make it take off in Gran Turismo on Playstation. It was sick. You could get it to go like 300mph+ and if you angled the wings right it would then proceed to take off like a plane.
Patt and 991HP

Technically, that was actually the 1998 car. The 1996 version only features in Gran Turismo 2.
@@tristanholland6445 No, it was GT3 and 4.
@@eddiehimself and gt2
I Still Use This Car In GT6
I still use this car in GT2 too
I used it 20+ years ago on the original Gt1 for ps1 🤣
I Still Use This Car In GT7 :D
That beast in GT2, you win in any race with this car by sticking on every corner's fence and wallaaa... get a speed 12 and sell it for 500,000cr.
Smoll Kitteh yes man haha in gt2 this car os perfect
If you put in specific settings it would pop a wheelie and reach speeds of like 600 mph
the escudo, aryton senna's lotus 97t, richard petty's superbird, the porshe 962, the mazda 787b, the shelby daytona coupe and all the GT40's are race cars that i wish i could own!
Take out the Mazda and put the 917k...... The Mazda only won 1 race out of 22 races....... The 917 is the GOAT of sports prototypes......
the man with the biggest balls in 96 :D
I remember this in gran turismo 2 (possibly 3 as well). Half the time it was all i used as it so ridiculously outpaced any of the competition. The turbo lag in the low RPM was a killer though so you had to constantly keep that high revving v6 on the boil.
This is the ultimate form of Motorsport. F1 wishes it could be this awesome
You never heard of the CAN AM series??..................
F1 used to be in the turbo era.
man this was the real rambo of gran turismo 2
Probably my all time favourite car from Gran Turismo
This car is a monster for all rally races especially in Gran Turismo. This car is sick to use in the game. 🤩
That car is awesome! The best one in Gran Turismo 2. I remember playing with it a lot.
Seriously dude! This deserves a million views!!!

texasdee slinglead yeah would be nice to hear even more
Is this the twin-engined Suzuki you're talking about? : ruclips.net/video/J7S3FrAPr-Y/видео.html
Hello! How can I contact you to have more information about the Escudo? Thank you
hard to believe this thing was based on an SUV.
No foolin'. I went to google Suzuki Escudo and got plastered with those SUVs. I thought google broke.
it's pretty much a silhouette car, nothing like the real Escudo
If you've seen the Vitara that this car was based on, you'd be hard pressed to call it an SUV. By today's standards, it's more of a small crossover.
This is footage of him at the Race to the Sky in Cardrona, where Nobuhiro 'Monster' Tajima is returning in April to defend his title 8years since his last win! Aparently in a all-electric car this time..
Can we just talk about how dangerous the track was back in the 1990s
Real talent
The driver is crazy! He was about to drive off the edge like several times.
he is crazy for driving the king if all roads and the buggati killer at that speed and on a cliff
TheMcgillacuddy my winking starfish nearly disappeared
That Tajima-san is insane, driving like that, even for a Rally Driver! No wonder they call him "monster"!
I miss Gran Turismo 2 on the PlayStation..
I still remember the smell of the CD. They made it smell of burned rubber!
Buying a second hand Honda NSX to start with to make money.. and then the tournament where you won a TVR Speed 12 every 5 races to sell.. good times.
GT2 4life!!!
i remember the PS2 when i had the game GT2. When you had to do the license assignment. The suzuki was sick!! Fuckin love that car!
This is what the modern WRC should be
supertrix101 yes, if Group B was still existing, every car would be a monster like the Escudo.
1000 bhp car with small road what worst could be possibly go wrong hahaha
LEGEND!!!! GT2❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ ESCUDO💓💓💓💓
That is some batshit crazy driving.
Legend, and now the road is paved it’s record will never be broken
Man I miss those gran turismo days this game has the most cars to this day
Well, as the video is of Monster driving in the 1998 Race to the Sky in Rhys's home country of New Zealand...
The 1996 Pikes Peak Escudo was white with blue markings.
this car was my primary motivation to keep winning races on gt2.
This is insane!!!!A monster driving another monster that's huge!!!The Escudo is the real beast and the others are just steel and wheels that lift up the dust!!!
The most enjoyable car in all of Gran Turismo
The car actually only needed 255hp to go this fast. They used the other 700hp to offset the weight of the driver's balls.
960Bhp in 800Kg,HATE modern cars, this is king of hill klimb.
If it was king, it would have won. As far as I know, this car didn't win. It got beaten by a Toyota Celica.
PCGamingMaster Race I think he means its the car a lot of people recognise hill climbers by :P
PCGamingMaster Race
well due to overpowered acceleration it loses to the celica
because of its lack of tractions
later it was installed with a Traction control
Escudo lose but i remember this car more...
Seasexnsun You talking about WRC or Hillclimb here?
Because Celica for sure wasnt the most dominant car in a rally, and they cheated the 1995 season.
Now here is where Suzuki becomes powerful!
I hope the driver's mother has never seen this video.
this car has a tremendous power to weight ratio

Overpowered as fuck in Gran Turismo 2, not so much in 3.
torenico it was a boring idea to use them on endurances, you won them after the first 5 seconds of race.
they say loeb is the fastest in pikes peak this is the real pikes peak i doubt loeb gonna race something like this if still open hahaha
A car not even Chuck Norris can handle and drive.
now, this driver have SERIOUS BAWLS!!!
I must have this car in my garage XD
one of my favorite cars in Grand Turismo 2 it was the trophy sweeper .
The legend of Suzuki.
This is my fave car of all time. It was the boss in gt3aspec
in gran turismo 2 this car would beat anything whether it was rally or street!
The car we need in life to beat all sorts of traffic hours
that thing is a friggin beast
Back in the day when even the tv crews used cell phone footage
That wing...
jossiqua one of a handful of cars that needed every bit of that downforce . that car needed more .
In Gran Turismo 3, it had around 2500 horsepower with the most expensive turbo kit.
the driver is a monster
it was 800kg not 1100kg
in 96 it was 1110kg but body work lowered it down in 98'
Gray Fox that's insane
this is the reason i play GT. to get this ultimate car
whos here cause they remember this car on gran turismo on ps1
1000 horsepower of pure sound.
RUNNING IN THE 90'S
My dream car😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Sometimes I wonder if this is what the cars would have looked like if Group B was allowed to continue unabated into the '90s.
1000 god damn horsepower
When your Car throws up "Rooster Tails" bigger and better than Racing Boats, well, DAMN......
the song playing should be "sex type thing" by stone temple pilots ;P
haha.. yep
Alexander B YES
this car was truly legendary reminds me of group B
The king of the roads in GT1 and 2.
João Antônio Only GT2 onwards.
Remind me of playing Playstation One grand turismo...I think that was fastest car in that game as well...
To my surprise, Gran Turismo 2 had the engine sounds right.
well thats definitely one of the more epic ways to stir up giant dust cloud.....
So true. And I got here by "accident". But when I saw this vid I grabbed GT2 and played a round with this baby :)
It dominated Pikes Peak in 1996? Last time I checked, Rod Millen and his Toyota Celica dominated Pikes Peak in 1996. And I'm not sure what road they are on in the video, but it is not Pikes Peak.
Whipping this beast out with an upgraded turbo and intercooler, for when you just really needed to win the race by a minute a lap on GT3..
The King Car in Gran Turismo 2
Where did you get the 1100kg weight number? Did Mr Monster weigh 250kg himself?
God bless gran turismo, gave us best memories
The official "WHY WON'T IT TURN?!?" car in GT2.
At stock it is good only for rally, you need to modify some settings for it to behave well on the asphalt. Anyway, driving this on track is blasphemy :) try gt-one you win from gt world (random, you may need a few runs) or all gold s license.
Krilium it took a bit to learn to point the thing the right way without a near complete stop. 😂
Who know what the music on background of this video?
Amazing.....
I think this was the Race To The Sky at Cardrona NZ not Pikes peak
The monster that broke Gran Turismo 2 and 3.
I remember this being the fastest car in gran turismo back in the day?!
Tajima is the man!! ,, by the way this vid deserves more views
I wish there was no background music
Ahhhhh memories
LOOK!! and not a redbull decal on it!!!
Audi quattro s1 vs this :O epic battle
The Power of a Bugatti Veyron at 1/3rd of the weight

@HallowedBeThyName13 Thank you!
still the best car in GT series
I really mis the old days when this track was almost full gravel , now its paved over entire lenght and its not that sectacular anymore. The driver got some balls flying over abyss like that lol.
that track is made for s1 quattro !!!
Was so nice in GT5
This video will be even better if the BGM is Moon Over The Castle
a real rally car, i bet still beat all
I got to know this car from there but I don't pretend to know anything. The knowledge I get from rally is from just rally.
Gran Turismo brought me here.
It literally sounds like an RC car, or just electronic in some way. Kinda looks like one too.
It's this motor a Suzuki H20A V6 with lots of modifications?
In gt5 it said this is a dirt trial car will it actually work on the dirt tracks in gt5?
