Lexus LS500 Comfort | Champagne Glasses Balance At 145mph | 1989 Lexus LS400 vs. 2020 Lexus LS500
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 5 окт 2024
- ✔ (English Subtitles Available) The Lexus balancing commercial has been recreated with the 2020 LS 500 ✔
We don’t usually cover regional TV commercials from other countries, but this one caught our eye. You may remember Lexus’ first ever advertisement in the United States, Balance, which featured a Lexus LS 400 driving at a simulated 145 mph (233 km/h) with a tower of champagne glasses stacked on top of the bonnet - without breaking a single one of them.
Thirty years on, a dealer in New Jersey, Lexus of Route 10, recreated that landmark ad with the help of an unlikely but rather fitting assistant. That assistant was none other than Toyota president Akio Toyoda, who balanced the glasses on the bonnet of a brand new LS 500, though - being slightly, ahem, vertically challenged himself - not without a blunder along the way.
✔ Overview ✔
The LS is the sedan that launched the Lexus brand, but the 2021 model wears a much sharper suit than the 1990 original. Going up against established luxury four-doors such as the Audi A8, BMW 7-series, and Mercedes-Benz S-class is just as much of a challenge today as it was when the LS first rolled onto the scene, but the Lexus charms with its Japanese aesthetic and standout design. A twin-turbo V-6 is standard, but those concerned with fuel efficiency can upgrade to a hybrid powertrain-although its lumpy power delivery isn't particularly luxurious. The same could be said of the LS's driving experience: It lacks the athleticism we've come to appreciate in several of its competitors. But the LS's interior is every bit as quiet and nearly as comfortable as those of its German rivals, and you'll still look like a boss when you pull up to the valet stand.
✔ What's New For 2021 ✔
Lexus has made some slight alterations to its flagship luxury sedan for 2021. The LS receives new headlamps and trim surrounds on the exterior, and Lexus says it's quieter inside thanks to a tweaked active-noise-cancellation system. The biggest improvement, however, comes in the form of a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, which replaces the fussy no-touch display that irked us for so many years.

Actually the engine would run smoother at higher rpm. How smooth it is during startup and idle is the impressive part about Lexus.
They floored a v8 car to 145mph I think that’s pretty impressive 🤷🏼♂️
@@JohnSmith-ip8kp Most engines run smoother at higher rpm. The thing that has always set Lexus apart is how smooth they are during startups and while idling. It’s very difficult to achieve this since oil pressure is very low during starts and the smallest air fuel miscalculation is more noticeable at low rpm.

My 2015 hasn't hit 100k yet, but it's perfection. I briefly compared it to Acura MDX and the MDX was more tech focused and had much more storage. However, it felt cheap by comparison. Hard cheap looking and feeling plastic, stereo was good with the 2 subs, but lack the richness of the Lexus system somehow. Both looked great and both are acceptable, but as soon as you drive the Lexus you forget about the gadgets and become lost in refined luxury.

@@deadboy9955 you're right, not so much on mpg but maintenance is gets quite expensive on those German cars. yoou also have to factor in depreciation though. well all luxury cars depreciate fast, Lexus is notorious for it. take the LS from 2 generations ago (2008 or something.) its worth a mere 14th of the new one from 2020 (at about 150k kilometers and good condition) coming in at just 10k. it does happen to be a total bargain and maybe _the_ best bang for your buck 2nd hand luxury car you can find - with one major flaw: if you told a 3 year old to draw a car, this is what you'd get.

Well the bible says no man is good, for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. So how do we get to heaven? Answer: By believing on Jesus Christ who took the punishment for our sin on the cross. There are no amount of good works we can do to achieve salvation because salvation is a free gift of God. Most Japanese CEOS would take a pay cut or not get paid for the entire year to save people from getting laid off or have their hours/pay decreased. One example is Satoru Iwata
, who worked for free when Nintendo went through hard times. Japanese CEOs also make much less than their western counterpart.
@@MrWhiterunGuard No no, Japanese CEO's get a proper payment, all Maybach's with private drivers, expensive restaurants and stuff. But all this luxury actually just coz they need to project confidence on their clients.
But yes, the best part is if something's wrong with business, the cuts always start from the top of the company. And that's smart. With people working you can get back to business, without shrinking the company and CEO paycheck is not important to the business.
