My parents took me and my brother to Goose Island almost 30 years ago and we had a blast. Dad had to take us into town to get a crab stamp added to our fishing license because the only thing that would bite on our lines were crabs (we were trying to fish at the great pier). Dad caught a couple of mud puppies, but they are not good eating at all. Mom took a picture of me with a squirrel on my lap. FYI, those squirrels love nutty wheat thins. I'm planning on taking my wife out there for a weekend later this year once the weather cools off. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.
Better want a water bed in those tent sights....LOL. Interesting with the ADA picnic table, first time I have seen that. 👍 Hey, I don't blame the girls, I wouldn't want to have frog jump on me while lathering up my hair 😱 Did you get an answer about the overflow RV parking area whether its OK to boondock there? Great review, we saw signs for this state park the last time we went to Magnolia Beach. Happy Camping!!! 🍻 Sean & Angie
I use site 152 as my tent site. It’s one of the more popular spots and I have to reserve it ahead of time. It’s worth it though. Mosquitoes on the bay shouldn’t be much of a problem due to wind. In the woods better have thermacell lol and a few alternatives.
I'm a little too tall for the shower in the Avenger RV. I personally enjoy using the Bath House, even now that we bought a bigger RV. If we are at a state park with now sewer hook up, then Tania would usually go to the bath house too., Cut down on using up that 30 gallon gray tank up too fast.
Goose Island looks like a great park. Have a nice week.
It's decent, just bring some bug spray
Campsites with electric outlets?? There ya go!
Sometimes it's necessary. Usually they all have them unless it's specifically "primitive" or "walk-in"

What an awesome story. Now I want to go sit at the picnic table with wheat thins and a camera. Don't forget the bug spray when you go back
Thank you for another great review. We're headed there soon, hoping to see some Whooping Cranes.
Thank you for helping me identify those birds.
We were recently in the area, but didn't check out the park. Thanks for the tour & nice footage!
You didn't miss a whole lot, at least not with this park.
Haven’t been there in quite a while. Anytime we’d go, it was packed. The stairs off the pier are for wade fishing. Great tour! Thanks for sharing.
Did y'all struggle with mosquitoes when you were there?
@@TexasFamilyCamping always!! Especially if the wind was calm.
@@TexasFamilyCamping Always!! Especially on calm days, almost unbearable.
The first white bird is probably a cattle egret and the taller white bird is a great egret. Green tree frogs are not poisonous.
Yeah, we searched up the frogs. Thank you

I never did get clarification on the overflow parking. I guess I gotta go back. Aw shucks... LOL

They were bad on the Bayside when we were there.
@@TexasFamilyCamping oh sorry to hear that!
@@frankiethefrog1752 No worries. We still enjoyed our time there.
That's a beautiful Park I like the wooded area in house included it is. How come you didn't use the shower in your rig

I’m glad y’all finally made it out to Goose Island. I love the Rockport area! How was the mosquitoes when you went?
The mosquitoes were so bad, LOL
