I have been using PS3 emulation via LaunchBox for sometime. But have recently clean up my library and moved the games to a different storage device. This will certainly help with the import process. A nice update yet again. Thank you.
I'll ask here bc you seem pretty knowledgeable. I use RetroArch for most of my earlier games but a system like PS3 isn't supported. RetroArch makes it easy to go back to Bigbox using a controller, is there some other setting I can use to do that from a standalone app like RPCS3?
Launchbox recently removed Duckstation for PS1 games, could you do a video on how to get it back onto Lunchbox please? Your videos are the only reason I can emulate anything lol
Wow. For anyone who tried importing a ton of games manually you know how much of a time saver this update is. I'm currently loading the rest of my games now. I had given up on loading before but this changes everything. One note though... There are some game titles after scanning that had the name split up on two lines. Obviously it didn't find a match in the DB. I had to go in and edit the title to put it all on the same line and then do a search after. Would be nice for LB to do that automatically.
Getting ready to build a new pc for emulation can't wait to use this. Looks like the Titles need a little work cleaning up though seeing EBOOT there after the main title

Great, but I ran into two challenges. 1. how can I get PSN downloaded games in BigBox like Turtles in Time. 2. how can I skip the “ PlayStation eye is missing“ error that shows up newly in Deadstorm pirates for example.

Depends on where you want it. If you want there to be a root All Games section under the Platform Categories section you can create that Playlist in LaunchBox to have it show up in Big Box. @@UnbrokenSoftwareLLC I did just import the PS3 Folder containing the Games. I've managed to sort it now, I just deleted them all and re imported them again and it worked correctly this time.

coming from batocera, setup seems quite painless (batocera was alright as well). Is the performance comparable? (same pc specs just not dual booted into batocera, windows instead) I ask because I've had ps3 emulation issues on windows in the past (could be user error, though 😅)
Now I'm getting a "invalid file or folder" shutdown of my games when I try to open them. I've done EVERYTHING exactly like you've done but nothing starts. Is there anyone that could help me troubleshoot?
EDIT: You can’t use Chrome to download the PS3 firmware, Sony is using FTP which is a bit of a dinosaur. Use Microsoft Edge to grab the firmware instead. Original: Cant seem do grab the firmware from Sony. The download button exists, but nothing happens when you click it

I don't think that PS3 emulation is good enough yet. Until the compatibility list gets to around 80%+ (and when I say "80%", I mean working fully; with no glitches), I personally don't think that it's worth bothering with.

About 70% of the PS3 library are playable and run fine, so it's definitely worth a try. However, you'll need a pretty decent CPU to run the AAA titles

What is confusing to me is that you have the ROM and then you have the dev_hdd0. Can I get rid of the ROM after it's been loaded into the dev_hdd0?
disc games only I assume? doesn't seem to work with psn/pkg files that are installed to dev_hdd0...

Yeah I don't believe it supports PSN / PKG files yet. That's something they'll have to figure out.
I have PKG/RAP files for my PS3 Roms and this doesn’t work…have do I fix this? Or where do I just get PS3 ISO games from?

I have my PS3 game but it is in iso format. I am not sure if this will work.
Double click the .iso and copy all 3 folders from the .iso. Problem solved.

I've only got 11 PS3 games, and it pulled in 800 Games! It's found games from files in the games folders

I guess it was technically possible to import PS3 games prior to 13.3. But lets be real it was super difficult to the point of being not worth it.

This Games work in the Emulator rpcs3 plus some games need a rip file (DRM) to run.
How about PS Vita?

What if your SP3 Games does not have a bin but a fileISO.BIN.EDAT that it boots from I have a lot of SP3 Games that do not have bin files.
