Lakshya, Guzaarish, Vikram Vedha and Fighter are prime examples of how we failed him as an actor. An underrated & versatile star who should be seen beyond his looks and dancing skills. But a combination of high production costs, low buzz & overdose of patriotism also go against a film's run at the BO.
Bang Bang was his one of the best Movies... As an senior Actor he should know what people are expecting from him and should deliver the same... as he should involve in the scrips and the scenes by his experiance... Sitting blank and doing what ever the Director tells will not make him SuperStar...
I'll still repeat it. Fighter isn't a complete flop, it has done good business in the overseas market, and the overall collection will surely recuperate its budget

"Bol Jai Hind" and explaining "Meaning of Jai Hind" to a terrorist are such scenes in the film which reflects patriotism in the right way and which was not experienced in so called much awaited movies for a long time. True goosebump moments.
Honestly even of they hadn't made the profits they will still make miney back or reduced loses due to netflix being a partner. They were smart to bring on netflix to hedge themselves from flops.

Fighter jaisi ek South Movie hai titled "Operation Valentine", jo same date pe release hui thhi. Fighter ki Collection isse bhi negatively affect hui thhi.
I honestly think the movie missed the mark which URI has set in armed forces action sequences. The climax of URI was so satisfying and I still remember coming out of the theatre thinking about it. But in fighter, it just didn't click. Also, pathan had a John as THE villian. I really wished to love the movie as a fan of Hrithik 🥺.
Okay what people fail to understand is that Vikram Vedha already had a mass recognition because of the dubbed version that was easily accessible, also i think there was not just one but multiple small issues that are responsible for this crash , nevertheless i have full faith in HR he'll be back even stronger 💪
My brother in law is a South Indian who absolutely LOVES The original Vikram Vedha. He and my sister must have watched it 20-30times, that's how much he loves it. When the remake was announced he was very loud and vocal about what horrible idea it would be and how it would flop. Fast forward to after the release, he went and watched the movie just because he wanted to brag about awful it was compared to the original. I have never seen anyone changing their opinion so fast, and praising Hritik like he is his son 😂😂😂
It's not the audience's job to succeed a film. If they're interested in it, they'll watch it. If they're not interested in it, they won't watch it. Movies is a kind of entertainment. Watching a film just for the sake of "supporting" it is a stupid idea.

I was surprised when TRP and you reviewed it as an amazing movie. Apart from the aerial combat scenes Fighter is a brutally average movie where the storyline is predictable, screenplay is disjointed, character arcs are not fully developed for which you dont feel anything for the characters. Funny part both u and TRP came up with similar topic of how we failed as an audience - either this is bias or unfortunately it is paid review.
I as an aviation lover ✈️❤️, loved the movie. After so many years we got a good movie based on Indian Airforce & Aerial Combat. Sad to see what is happening with Fighter. I want to see more movies on Aerial Combat. If this fails, then producer will hesitate to spent money for this type of movies.

Casting Deepika was a mistake ... After Kofee with Karan Audience cannot see Deepika Padukone in such roles . More over her JNU controversy is well known. so casting her as an Airforce pilot was a mistake. Some people are boycotting because the film cast did not attend the RamMandir.
I just came out of the movie Fighter and it's a super sloppy work. Repeat of same emotions, boring writing, lack of chemistry between the leads, over emotional over an action scene, slow motion everywhere.. couldn't handle.. just thank god I survived.

Hope you learn to differentiate Actor from a Movie, Hritik gave his 100% and was best, but other factors let the movie down.

I went yesterday enjoyed the movie but there were only like 30 people .VFX were so good by Indian movie standards story also dialogues were impactful I literally got goosebumps in some scenes . Fighter deserves our love
Roshan saab is the most underrated actor ...his carrier is full of experiments...but those experiments always gave a bang on performance ..u have to stick to ur seat in order to watch his movies ..unlike other deshbhakti and pseudo nationalism movies .in which u can skip an hour of the movie and still know the end

The movie should have been grounded in approach like URI, Shershah, Lakshya, in that zone where as it was way over the top and cringe dialogues and after the balakot airstrike there was nothing left in the movie. Remaining drama was engaging although the VFX were good
Box office collections cannot be predicted ever.. Anything can happen.. It all depends on the audience's mood and how they receive a film. Nobody expected that 83 would be a flop, gadar 2 will be a blockbuster, drishyam will do such solid business, bhedia will be a flop. So box office prediction can go anywhere, it all depends on the audience's mood at that time.. Nothing more than that..
VFX were good but what about story? Story telling and editing are the two main reasons why this movie failed on BO. Length could have been way shorter than what it is. Lot of unnecessary plots just make movie boring. Neha joshi story, using deepika to do less of women empowerment and more of eye candy, too much time spent on showing team bonding etc are few plots which could have edited Overall not worth spending 2:40min. Indeed a flop.
I think people are tired of forced patriotisms where we are good, we cant do anything wrong and our enemies are the only ones who are in the wrong. In Hollywood movies you can find war movies that has complicated stories and themes where they show dark side of war, they shows that we are not always in the right, our soldiers also goes crazy and does inhuman stuff in the middle of war, we also kill civilians because we are ordered to bomb an area where enemy could be hiding and sometime we dont even know why we are even fighting or are the people we are fighting actually our enemies. Movies, games and Some anime explores these ideas which are missing from Bollywood war movies.
I'm one of the biggest fans of hrithik. But still haven't watched fighter yet as I was expecting a different kind of movie, full of patriotism, ariel actions etc. But when I watched the teaser, trailer, and those two songs, one with deepika's bikini scenes in the beach, I got disappointed. I felt it as just another typical bollywood movie, nothing will be special. So I think there are more like me who got disappointed and decided to avoid going to theatres to watch this film on the big screen.
Being South Indian i had a huge crush on Hrithik in my childhood. But somehow he lost that charming personality in recent years. As per me he should pick drama, romance and reality based script than action. He is not a method or hardcor actor. He is a stylish actor. Specially what he was in Vikram veda. Now that you mentioned it I realised almost every box office chartbuster of 2023 had some sort of trend Pathan:- Srk trend(coming after 4 years of break) Gadar2:- Pakistan and hand pump trend Jawan:-again srk trend Animal:- controversy Salaar:- Kgf trend or (chapri trend) Basically nowadays people will watch movies which are more popular in their social group (ex:- people at work places, school etc will hear about a certain movie and go to watch it just for the sake of their friend or in order to BLEND IN) This is why those south movies are massive success because they influence people at the very profound level. Sometimes people may not have the suitable taste for that particular film but they still wants to watch that movie because either their friends are watching it or they want to follow the trend. The biggest example of this is Christopher Nolan's film (those films are made for certain audience, so not everyone should watch it however there are people who have zero understanding of the concept shown in the film but still they watch it to just show how good of the taste they have for the films), ex:- in my school none of the students understand the shit shown in Oppenheimer but they like to brag about those science stuff shown in the film just to show how cool and knowledgeable they are. I guess we lost the era where movie just needed to be good, and people would watch it purely out of curiosity and generosity. Without following any trend.

It's the audience who failed....We just judge a movie on the basis of Box Office Collection.....Not the story, or plot or not because of actors but because of Box Office Collection..... And because of Audience perception we can't loose an actor like Hrithik. A Risk Taker and one who atleast try to experiment with his character in movies, Hrithik gave as true actor vibe so we can't loose him as an actor..... Audience have to be mature and think beyond Box Office and other and have to appreciate actors and directors who atleast try something different and go for the story........and then when Hrithik will do illogical mass masala then hum hi complaint karte..... With all extremes like Salman Khan or Ajay Devgan at one end or a Manoj Bajpayee or Rajkumar Rao at other end we really need someone like Hrithik Roshan who provides that balance.
Speak for yourself. There are 2 types of movies in Bollywood. One is masala action where u go to theatre and watch superstar romance a heroine and dishoom-dishoom a villain. 2nd is thought-provoking movies with a message. Last category, that we don't talk about is what I call Zee Cinema/Set Max category (now OTT category) where people don't want to go to theatre to watch that movie but weekened ko full family saath me baithke TV par dekhega... Most Hritik movies fall in that category - family entertainers. It's these films that don't necessarily have a good BO reputation but they stand the test of time for decades.

I hear praises for Hrithik and an oblivious question why did it flop. The answer to both VV and Fighter is right in front of everyone. VV came out solid, it was already well acted! But no we want a Bollywood remake, for no apparent reason, just to mind money for the producers. Even if Hrithik acted alone in all roles and displayed his best acting in all the roles, still VV would have flopped, why you ask? Because source material was already the best and it came out 5 years before VV did. Most must have watched it during these 5 years. Now if I am not a sucker for Hrithik, I will not care at all for VV. He isnt SRK that he will drive an entire movie. He looks good, dances good, acts ok, and that's it. Now lets do Top G....I mean Fighter. It came out right on heels of TG:Maverick. How can you not expect people to compare the two? The main subject is same, patriotism with Fighter Jets. If this movie came out 3-4 years later, it could have been better. But no. Lets make a movie right on the heels of Top Gun M, and expect cashing in on it. No matter what you say, this is the truth behind Fighter. Or else to any sane minded producer it will occur that this will be compared vehemently with TG:Maverick. They knew this, cooked up a story and threw everyone in the meat grinder. Its all about the timing. I feel like HR doesnt understand the Indian audiences well. He feels closer to the role and wants to do it, but at the same time also wants to get commercial success. Mission Kashmir's issue was it came out in the year 2000, right after Kaho Na Pyaar Hai, his debut movie, he attained a heart throb status and then proceeds to go play a Terrorist's character with little to no charm in the role. Tell me, the ones who loved him in KNPH they wanted to see him in that light, you see Indian cinema goers like to eat the same candy till they get over it or find an alternative. Look at it everywhere the Jamal Jamalo song has been rubbed beyond its capacity in reels and what not what. So taking this acceptance of the public, they didnt like him much in Mission Kashmir, and know this, his first movie gathered him the kind of fan following that doesnt incline towards role as MK or Guzarish, that crowd wanted his charm, but he gave em something else, Dude seriosly needs to understand his public following and what they want, not what he feels to give them. Once u give the public what they want, then do your stuff, they;; accept it. Example? The Dark Knight Trilogy. that no one cared he did a dud with the 3rd installment. Hope this helps. Peace :)
Maybe it's the presence of Deepika Padukone in the movie. People hate her after she went to JNU and stood with anti-nationals. If the movie had some other actress, it would have performed better
I watched the movie... Non action sequences are cliche bearing similar to other Bollywood movies. DP is mis-cast... Messaging gin the movie is the same as other movies. Unwanted songs everywhere. But the air-al sequences were very good and executed correctly... If you watch documentaries about dog fights then you get the sequence...... Next is Operation Valentine
Unfortunately Hrithik does not have fan following among the Thelewalas, Autorickshaw walas, Sabzi walas and Jhuggi Jhopdi walas unlike Shahrukh and Salman !

I think it's mostly because people have lost interest in Deepika. She ruined her image. There is no mystery left and we can tell she is faking everything. This is why actors shouldn't reveal everything about their personal lives
The romantic angle was overdone in fighter, the starting bonding scenes among soldiers had unnecessary dialogues which were not even funny. The second half did pick up but i guess it was too late already. Also, that 'court martial hoga to sabka hoga' scene was so cringe, also the fact that air force pilot is doing hand to hand combat scene and the villain is shooting commandos with a single gun without getting hurt. These all things put Fighter in the category of masala films already
And it becomes more crazy when Anupama says Pathaan is better than fighter, why? Cuz she likes SRK. She called fighter shallow, and was constantly comparing it to top gun, and not even giving it a chance.
The audience here are not earning money through hard work to pay for acting, technical value or anything else. They earn money working hard and they want to enjoy that time, you may call it masala movie or art movie.

Regardless of my personal opinion on “Fighter”: Can anyone explain to me in which cases income from abroad is taken into account of a film business and in which cases it is not? I'm not going to glorify “Fighter” as a masterpiece of cinematic art, but when you consider the foreign box office, the film makes up for its high production costs.
I totally agree with @shanprasher. I feel so bad about the business the film did, apart from the all the amazing things that I saw in the movie. Literally felt so connected with the movie that I too wished to join IndainAirForce, fly plans with passion and pride and do and die for the country. The music was onpoint and moreover bloodpumping and grinding, I believe the hero actually (Ignoring Sher Khul gye), especially both sad songs. Yes, we failed as audience to notice such heartwarming film on IndianAirForce which has always been either ignored or just added as a pinch of salt in patriotic movies. Last films I remember are Border with Jackie Shroffs cameo and Bhuj (Where the flight experiences and connect was missing ) and not wanting to include Tejas. I had heard the comment somewhere that Fighter is Baap of Tiger and Pathaan...and while watching the movie I started believing that. Talking about the promotions yes, they were almost less and Indo-Pak conflict is now too much to handle, yet still valid. Yes, while showing the Pulwama and other terror attack references should have somehow involved China, like showing China was somehow responsible indirectly behind all such attacks and motivating pakistan for these evil-tactics. Yes, again it would have been fiction, but still they are gonna use fictional stories to backup the script. Anyway I believe Fighter will get the due recognition with time. And let's hope directors and producers don't stop or hesitate making such good films

Here are my two scents on its failure. I truly believe that this movie has nothing new to offer. The Pak vs India conflict is so over used in Bollywood now that i dont feel tempted by the movie at all. There is No new villain. We all know how the ending is Going to be. Nothing new. Similarly in Hollywood. Not every war movie works. And a lot of them which are famous are mostly documentaries. Some offer extremely Dark and brutal visuals, some offer something else. In short, a distinction. Ariel combat is not something that i have not seen before. Top gun maverick has satisfied my need of that so much that i dont wanna watch anything which is not on a bigger level than that. So basically, it does everything Good. But has nothing new which can excite me at all.
He's a great actor, but has been doing the same stuff repeatedly. Fighter is a good movie but the scale and predictability of the script is expected from the beginning. I would say he's a star for metro movie lovers, but guess in tier2/3 cities, his swag is completely unrelatable. That's my reading. I admire his acting, but he's going the wrong way

The serial which has sense and is really entertaining have low trp .Matlab serial toh har ghar mein dekhe jaatein hain. There are some serials which have really good content, par log ignore karte hain . The fact that OMG 2 earned less than Gadar 2 shows the appreciation people have for sense content and meaningfull cinema. Bhai kal ka Nostalgia tab banega jab aaj achi cheezein banengi.I heard in an interview with AIB that Shah-Rukh Khan actually wants to try new role(something unique) par logon ko pasand nhi ata, so he does what creates buisness. Nobody wants to see deepika anymore. My thoughts on why Fighter is failing: 1. Vfx are straight up bad in this movie. I will not even say decent, it’s bad. It’s 2024 and Bollywood has to think beyond sexy actress and jacked actor. 2. Fighter had a huge competition, Top Gun Maverick. Bollywood audience is no stranger to Hollywood movies now and if they see a similar movie in Bollywood then there would be a comparison. 3. It’s not about Pakistan prem or Pakistan hate. Audience just wants to see good content in the theater. If a movie is dependent on vfx and action scenes then that has to be the priority. 4. No need of putting unnecessary songs in a movie like this just because the actor is a great dancer. The movie’s name is Fighter, the actor is a fighter pilot in the movie, and he should fight. Not just keep showcasing dance moves on every chance he gets.
Fighter won't be able to recuperate, VFx, air combats, acting are all good but story has some serious flaws, script isn't synch, some things dont make sense and forcefully some things are put into like feminism (Deepika's parents), out of nowhere people are appearing, wo hi same India-Pakistan, songs are not there or coming abruptly and more comic dialogue are given to Bipasha's husband who makes them fall flat.
Its a simple answer, Hrithik is not a mass actor, and I don't mean it based upon fan following. He was always looked upon as an elite personality, 90% of the non-metro population never relate to him, hence a lack of market for his films beyond the multiplexes. Ranbir to an extent faces a similar situation, but careful role selection can negate it, but only to an extent. A following that SRK, Salman, Aamir, Ajay, Akshay or even Sunny enjoy is a grounds up development from the masses, which cannot be replicated by the elite presenting stars like Hrithik, Ranbir etc.
In america people do not watch movies for actors. Hype for movies is often built on previously established successful brands (like MCU, Star Wars, Super Mario/Detective Pikachu/video game movies, Barbie and other corporate brand movies),

I have watched every single Marvel movie in a theater (some even 3-4 times), but I didn't watch The Marvels, years of pushing crap, has fans of these franchises respond with their wallets, hence Disney losses. Indian movies, even the ones that build on Stardom, don't forget the most important reason for cinema, giving the audience what the want. So whether it's a good story or a mass masala, if people are entertained, they will buy the tickets.

The film is flopping due to Deepika Hatred, her off screen antics have completely spoilt her image, and any project she does barring Pathan(SRK Power) has been a flop since last 3-4 years.
Lakshya, Guzaarish, Vikram Vedha and Fighter are prime examples of how we failed him as an actor. An underrated & versatile star who should be seen beyond his looks and dancing skills. But a combination of high production costs, low buzz & overdose of patriotism also go against a film's run at the BO.

I honestly think the movie missed the mark which URI has set in armed forces action sequences. The climax of URI was so satisfying and I still remember coming out of the theatre thinking about it. But in fighter, it just didn't click. Also, pathan had a John as THE villian. I really wished to love the movie as a fan of Hrithik 🥺.
Okay what people fail to understand is that Vikram Vedha already had a mass recognition because of the dubbed version that was easily accessible, also i think there was not just one but multiple small issues that are responsible for this crash , nevertheless i have full faith in HR he'll be back even stronger 💪
My brother in law is a South Indian who absolutely LOVES The original Vikram Vedha. He and my sister must have watched it 20-30times, that's how much he loves it. When the remake was announced he was very loud and vocal about what horrible idea it would be and how it would flop. Fast forward to after the release, he went and watched the movie just because he wanted to brag about awful it was compared to the original.

I was surprised when TRP and you reviewed it as an amazing movie. Apart from the aerial combat scenes Fighter is a brutally average movie where the storyline is predictable, screenplay is disjointed, character arcs are not fully developed for which you dont feel anything for the characters.
Funny part both u and TRP came up with similar topic of how we failed as an audience - either this is bias or unfortunately it is paid review.

I as an aviation lover ✈️❤️, loved the movie. After so many years we got a good movie based on Indian Airforce & Aerial Combat. Sad to see what is happening with Fighter. I want to see more movies on Aerial Combat. If this fails, then producer will hesitate to spent money for this type of movies.

Hope you learn to differentiate Actor from a Movie, Hritik gave his 100% and was best, but other factors let the movie down.

VFX were good but what about story? Story telling and editing are the two main reasons why this movie failed on BO. Length could have been way shorter than what it is. I think people are tired of forced patriotisms where we are good, we cant do anything wrong and our enemies are the only ones who are in the wrong. In Hollywood movies you can find war movies that has complicated stories and themes where they show dark side of war, they shows that we are not always in the right, our soldiers also goes crazy and does inhuman stuff in the middle of war, we also kill civilians because we are ordered to bomb an area where enemy could be hiding and sometime we dont even know why we are even fighting or are the people we are fighting actually our enemies. Movies, games and Some anime explores these ideas which are missing from Bollywood war movies.
I'm one of the biggest fans of hrithik. But still haven't watched fighter yet as I was expecting a different kind of movie, full of patriotism, ariel actions etc. But when I watched the teaser, trailer, and those two songs, one with deepika's bikini scenes in the beach, I got disappointed. I felt it as just another typical bollywood movie, nothing will be special. So I think there are more like me who got disappointed and decided to avoid going to theatres to watch this film on the big screen.
Being South Indian i had a huge crush on Hrithik in my childhood.
But somehow he lost that charming personality in recent years. As per me he should pick drama, romance and reality based script than action. He is not a method or hardcor actor. He is a stylish actor. Specially what he was in Vikram veda. Bhai kaunsa local Gunda Hrithik ki jaisa dikhta he. I can't even imagine

Basically nowadays people will watch movies which are more popular in their social group (ex:- people at work places, school etc will hear about a certain movie and go to watch it just for the sake of their friend or in order to BLEND IN)
This is why those south movies are massive success because they influence people at the very profound level. Sometimes people may not have the suitable taste for that particular film but they still wants to watch that movie because either their friends are watching it or they want to follow the trend.
The biggest example of this is Christopher Nolan's film (those films are made for certain audience, so not everyone should watch it however there are people who have zero understanding of the concept shown in the film but still they watch it to just show how good of the taste they have for the films), ex:- in my school none of the students understand the shit shown in Oppenheimer but they like to brag about those science stuff shown in the film just to show how cool and knowledgeable they are.
I guess we lost the era where movie just needed to be good, and people would watch it purely out of curiosity and generosity. Without following any trend.

Speak for yourself. There are 2 types of movies in Bollywood. One is masala action where u go to theatre and watch superstar romance a heroine and dishoom-dishoom a villain. 2nd is thought-provoking movies with a message. Last category, that we don't talk about is what I call Zee Cinema/Set Max category (now OTT category) where people don't want to go to theatre to watch that movie but weekened ko full family saath me baithke TV par dekhega... Most Hritik movies fall in that category - family entertainers. It's these films that don't necessarily have a good BO reputation but they stand the test of time for decades.

I hear praises for Hrithik and an oblivious question why did it flop. The answer to both VV and Fighter is right in front of everyone.
VV came out solid, it was already well acted! But no we want a Bollywood remake, for no apparent reason, just to mind money for the producers. Even if Hrithik acted alone in all roles and displayed his best acting in all the roles, still VV would have flopped, why you ask? Because source material was already the best and it came out 5 years before VV did. Most must have watched it during these 5 years. Now if I am not a sucker for Hrithik, I will not care at all for VV. He isnt SRK that he will drive an entire movie. He looks good, dances good, acts ok, and that's it.
Now lets do Top G....I mean Fighter. It came out right on heels of TG:Maverick. How can you not expect people to compare the two? The main subject is same, patriotism with Fighter Jets. If this movie came out 3-4 years later, it could have been better. But no. Lets make a movie right on the heels of Top Gun M, and expect cashing in on it. No matter what you say, this is the truth behind Fighter. Or else to any sane minded producer it will occur that this will be compared vehemently with TG:Maverick. They knew this, cooked up a story and threw everyone in the meat grinder.
Its all about the timing. I feel like HR doesnt understand the Indian audiences well. He feels closer to the role and wants to do it, but at the same time also wants to get commercial success. Mission Kashmir's issue was it came out in the year 2000, right after Kaho Na Pyaar Hai, his debut movie, he attained a heart throb status and then proceeds to go play a Terrorist's character with little to no charm in the role. Tell me, the ones who loved him in KNPH they wanted to see him in that light, you see Indian cinema goers like to eat the same candy till they get over it or find an alternative. Look at it everywhere the Jamal Jamalo song has been rubbed beyond its capacity in reels and what not what. So taking this acceptance of the public, they didnt like him much in Mission Kashmir, and know this, his first movie gathered him the kind of fan following that doesnt incline towards role as MK or Guzarish, that crowd wanted his charm, but he gave em something else, Dude seriosly needs to understand his public following and what they want, not what he feels to give them. Once u give the public what they want, then do your stuff, they;; accept it. Example? The Dark Knight Trilogy. that no one cared he did a dud with the 3rd installment.

I watched the movie... Non action sequences are cliche bearing similar to other Bollywood movies. DP is mis-cast... Messaging gin the movie is the same as other movies. Unwanted songs everywhere. But the air-al sequences were very good and executed correctly... If you watch documentaries about dog fights then you get the sequence......

Failure of 'Sam Bahadur' , 'Fighter' directly reflects what types of audience we have in our country, filmmakers did their best, it's somehow the audience which did so.

The romantic angle was overdone in fighter, the starting bonding scenes among soldiers had unnecessary dialogues which were not even funny. The second half did pick up but i guess it was too late already. Also, that 'court martial hoga to sabka hoga' scene was so cringe, also the fact that air force pilot is doing hand to hand combat scene and the villain is shooting commandos with a single gun without getting hurt. These all things put Fighter in the category of masala films already

I totally agree with @shanprasher. I feel so bad about the business the film did, apart from the all the amazing things that I saw in the movie. Literally felt so connected with the movie that I too wished to join IndainAirForce, fly plans with passion and pride and do and die for the country. The music was onpoint and moreover bloodpumping and grinding, I believe the hero actually (Ignoring Sher Khul gye), especially both sad songs. Yes, we failed as audience to notice such heartwarming film on IndianAirForce which has always been either ignored or just added as a pinch of salt in patriotic movies. Last films I remember are Border with Jackie Shroffs cameo and Bhuj (Where the flight experiences and connect was missing ) and not wanting to include Tejas. I had heard the comment somewhere that Fighter is Baap of Tiger and Pathaan...and while watching the movie I started believing that. Talking about the promotions yes, they were almost less and Indo-Pak conflict is now too much to handle, yet still valid. Yes, while showing the Pulwama and other terror attack references should have somehow involved China, like showing China was somehow responsible indirectly behind all such attacks and motivating pakistan for these evil-tactics. Yes, again it would have been fiction, but still they are gonna use fictional stories to backup the script. Anyway I believe Fighter will get the due recognition with time. And let's hope directors and producers don't stop or hesitate making such good films

Here are my two scents on its failure. I truly believe that this movie has nothing new to offer. The Pak vs India conflict is so over used in Bollywood now that i dont feel tempted by the movie at all. There is No new villain. We all know how the ending is Going to be. Nothing new. Similarly in Hollywood. Not every war movie works. And a lot of them which are famous are mostly documentaries. Some offer extremely Dark and brutal visuals, some offer something else. In short, a distinction.
Ariel combat is not something that i have not seen before. Top gun maverick has satisfied my need of that so much that i dont wanna watch anything which is not on a bigger level than that.
So basically, it does everything Good. But has nothing new which can excite me at all.
He's a great actor, but has been doing the same stuff repeatedly. Fighter is a good movie but the scale and predictability of the script is expected from the beginning. That indian air force is incapable of preventing an attack on its soil, this movie is a mockery of the air force, this movie would have worked during the UPA goverment but after seeing how the armed forces have responed under the leadership of the Modi Government it will not work, yeh picture gobar hai bhai
Nobody wants to see deepika anymore. Over the years she’s lost her charm, zero expressions, her overkill PR image, toxic feminism, her stance at JNU, her opinions on Koffee with Karan , unnecessary objectification in movie songs with bikini shots in songs. She’s so irrelevant and there’s no relatability or connect with audience anymore.
Our audience is not that smart😢thtswhy Aaliya and Ananya are celebrated and star like Hrithik is not given due credit.

Kites is another one masterpiece which was flop at that time but the craft HR had shown in this film through his acting and dancing skill is far way ahed than today's so called Stars!But unfortunately despite being the most complete actor in terms of acting, dancing,action, expression etc.in today's industry,His choice of films always been underrated 😢😢😢

My thoughts on why Fighter is failing:
1. Vfx are straight up bad in this movie. I will not even say decent, it’s bad. It’s 2024 and Bollywood has to think beyond sexy actress and jacked actor.
2. Fighter had a huge competition, Top Gun Maverick. Bollywood audience is no stranger to Hollywood movies now and if they see a similar movie in Bollywood then there would be a comparison.
3. It’s not about Pakistan prem or Pakistan hate. Audience just wants to see good content in the theater. If a movie is dependent on vfx and action scenes then that has to be the priority.
4. No need of putting unnecessary songs in a movie like this just because the actor is a great dancer. The movie’s name is Fighter, the actor is a fighter pilot in the movie, and he should fight. Not just keep showcasing dance moves on every chance he gets.
Fighter won't be able to recuperate, VFx, air combats, acting are all good but story has some serious flaws, script isn't synch, some things dont make sense and forcefully some things are put into like feminism (Deepika's parents), out of nowhere people are appearing, wo hi same India-Pakistan, songs are not there or coming abruptly and more comic dialogue are given to Bipasha's husband who makes them fall flat.

Its a simple answer, Hrithik is not a mass actor, and I don't mean it based upon fan following. He was always looked upon as an elite personality, 90% of the non-metro population never relate to him, hence a lack of market for his films beyond the multiplexes.
Ranbir to an extent faces a similar situation, but careful role selection can negate it, but only to an extent. A following that SRK, Salman, Aamir, Ajay, Akshay or even Sunny enjoy is a grounds up development from the masses, which cannot be replicated by the elite presenting stars like Hrithik, Ranbir etc.
In america people do not watch movies for actors. Hype for movies is often built on previously established successful brands (like MCU, Star Wars, Super Mario/Detective Pikachu/video game movies, Barbie and other corporate brand movies),
@@raja-jl9os Looking at the recent years, even that is not bringing people to the movies, since Hollywood is busy pushing ideology, rather than focusing on the most important factors, story-chatacters-script. I have watched every single Marvel movie in a theater (some even 3-4 times), but I didn't watch The Marvels, years of pushing crap, has fans of these franchises respond with their wallets, hence Disney losses.
Indian movies, even the ones that build on Stardom, don't forget the most important reason for cinema, giving the audience what the want. So whether it's a good story or a mass masala, if people are entertained, they will buy the tickets.
