Love whenever people compare the start of the chapter to Bioshock, cause the whole Playcare thing clearly takes a lot of inspiration from Rapture, as does Ludwig from Andrew Ryan, and that's the best horror game ever made imo so I love when others pick up on it too
Side Note: All of the broken toys around the environment are the toys that have story wise perished until Chapter 3 (Huggy, Mommy longs legs, Bunzo Bunny, etc) BUT no Kissy Missy or Poppy dolls that are broken. At least I haven't seen any while watching others play.
Story spoilers~ My theory/prediction why Ollie being prototype but helping you continue on makes sense is that he wants you to come down to the labs where they stuffed the toys to stuff himself into you and leave the facility. Because when you hear the Kicken Chicken cutout he says he's never been outside before, then seemingly goes outside and burns alive.
Wait! I just thought of something! That sounds kinda like Muzan from Demon slayer! He wants either of the two surviving Kamado's bodies, to be able to be in the sun! He's seemingly unfased by them taking down his 12 Kizuki, he'd be mad if he needed them! He could still have gone after the siblings at any time, but he's mostly left them alone. (I only watch the anime, but I have been spoiled by manga readers, so I have a vague idea of the future plot, and from the spoilers, it sounds pretty darn similar to our prototype "friend" here's possible plan!)
You've clearly never suffered from severe insomnia.. when mine was it's worst I only slept once every three days. I used to go to doctors and beg a lot harder than that. I would have sacrificed a school bus of pre-schoolers for a nap.
Between Hoppy Hopscotch at 1:45:20 and Bobby Bearhug at 1:55:55, I wonder what “the moon” is referring to, and if it has something to do with where all the orphans ended up.
Yea, everythings fake down there. Fake clouds, sun, etc... I was thinking there might be an actual moon area in the facility, and it may have been thought of as easier to defend- if you could get there. Probably had to have mad ups to get there though, so that's why Hoppy got caught... Just a thought. Disregard it if it doesn't have any legs to stand on/if you wish. 😊
This was the first livestream I was able to catch and watch at least two hours of (because time zones don't always work out in my favor)! It was a treat being able to see this being played in real time. It's nice to be re-living the stream in (edited) video form. Here's to a great week ahead!

I don’t know… I think Ollie could be the prototype. The other voice actors have range in their performance. Ollie is the only one that speaks in the same tone and it reminds me of the tape where the prototype is mimicking voices. It was all in one tone too. I think poppy might be being deceived by the prototype too because he knows she’s working against him
@@umhi9778 That’s a good question. I actually don’t know. I still don’t trust Poppy either, so it could be a situation where maybe she’s the one calling the shots, using Prototype as a scapegoat. Or a case where both Prototype and Poppy are bad and working together while also working independently to bring the other down so they’re the one with all the power and the toys, even if they work for them, are collateral damage.
@@vsprsgdby honestly, I think poppy might be on the side of the factory, being the founder's daughter and all. It would explain why she's so comfortable working with an ex employee (I heard kissy might've been an employee too somewhere?) and why she hated the hour of joy so much. Like she could just hate anyone who hurt innocent people but I don't really trust her either.
Either that or he’s just not the best voice actor. I personally found his cadence and delivery lacking compared to the other actors, but it could just be me. It just wasn’t natural or genuine.
@@umhi9778 The prototype seems to want to "absorb" the other toys, but so far it seems like he can't do that while they're alive, and possibly can't kill them himself. Or at least, couldn't. Every toy he's absorbed was killed another way - Mommy by the grinder, Ms Delight by the door, and CatNap was severely weakened and injured when the prototype killed him. So, the prototype might be manipulating things so that he can absorb his "followers". Which is why "Ollie" would be trying to lead the protagonist to harming them, and why he's "helping" the protag get deeper into the factory.

This chapter was so good! My only gripe is that I don't like when horror games make you wear a mask that obscures your vison partially. Its not scary, just frustrating. 8/10 chapter.
It's nice that we got a more shorter condensed video of the stream cuz I would watch the 5+ hour one but limited data sucks so yay- I always get chills near the end cuz KissyMissy ;-; I'm thinking the child's picture is actually her when she was still a child...and before turning into the fluffy pink toy that she is.
Wasn't sure you'd actually see that, but that was my comment early in the livestream section letting you know about the multiple button presses. The audio cardboard cutouts in this chapter are pretty good (thankfully they all don't just end in predictable screaming) and I didn't want you missing out. However, the radio messages were also cool. The whole "dream state" trips were awesome. Kinda sucks we won't be seeing more of that unless The Prototype utilizes the red smoke as well, but I wouldn't hold my breath. ...No pun intended. Lastly, for my fellow lore nuts out there, I admit, I didn't think The Prototype could be a mimicked Ollie at first. I was more focused on how Ollie could even still "exist" given he sounds like a regular child and that place had been abandoned for years. How has he sustained himself? How has he not aged? I really wish our protag asked these questions. I did have a theory that The Prototype, while more intelligent than all the other experiments, isn't the strongest, otherwise he wouldn't wait till his target is all but dead to make his move. That would explain why he is "helping" execute the other toys. He's a scavenger. Catnap is the strongest toy we've seen so far, so I believe, much like Mommy Longlegs (who is surprisingly strong for her gangly appearance), The Prototype bought time, set all the game pieces in place, till he was ready to strike to get what he wanted through manipulation as opposed to brute force. We see toys do, in fact, turn on toys here. They have to eat flesh to survive (Poppy maybe special and not need to do this as she hadn't died from starvation by the time she is freed nor was she eager to rip the protag's throat out, but I don't see why Kissy is exempt from this rule). More to the point, The Prototype is insanely violent. It killed the humans, both guilty and innocent, and if you are a toy with parts he wants, he'll scheme to kill you too! NO ONE is safe (except maybe Poppy). The Prototype is revered and feared. If he really had the strength to just take what he wanted, he would. While Catnap might be willing to be assimilated by his "god", we know for sure Mommy didn't even while being actively killed. Maybe being absorbed into The Prototype brings them back to life, hence Mommy's intense fear of being one with him. If he could take her in a fight, he wouldn't need the protag. Sorry, rambling now. I'll just close it by saying given The Prototype's assumingly weak state, the body of a young boy was found missing his organs, and The Prototype can mimic voices, all while the improbability of Ollie being alive, knowing our every move and location (as if he was stalking us), and STILL sounding like a normal, non-soul transplaced kid, I am at least 90% sure The Prototype is using Ollie's voice. The body parts from the boy maybe unrelated though as The Prototype can mimic voices without the actual vocal cords, but I digress. If all that turns out to be untrue, I am eager to see how they spin it all to make it work and for it all to make sense.
Actually, when we hear Prototype mimic voices it has to put bits and pieces of different voices together... But if it can absorb aspects of others, and it got a kid's vocal chords, it's possible that's how it got a "consistent" voice
@@DemonicNightmare I'm not so sure. One or the other makes sense, but not both to me. We see it can mimic voices in that one tape near the end so it shouldn't need biological material to mimic a voice. I just don't see why it can't permanently mimic voices when it can synthesize a voice just fine. Does that make sense? But let's say that you're right. That just brings up my previous questions. Why Ollie? How? If The Prototype took Ollie's voice during The Hour Of Joy, then why? Why him? How special was Ollie to be targeted for his organs out of the myriad of kids and toys that could have been chosen? Was it because he wasn't transformed yet? Surely he wasn't the only one. Was it just random chance? If he acquired Ollie's voice years later after THoJ, why does Ollie still sound like a regular kid? Not even a kid inside a toy with an altered voice, a genuinely normal kid. We now their voices change do to the experiments and of course a regular child's would change in the what? One or two decades since the place was abandoned? It doesn't add up. Either way you look at it, it just makes more sense for The Prototype to just straight-up create voices through mimicry. That also makes one wonder how factual the radio broadcast are during the hallucination phase and if they are even related to The Prototype at all. Could be related to Poppy given the lengths that were taken to create her, I wouldn't be surprised at all if that is meant to be a big reveal later. Anyway, if The Prototype needs a biological source to permanently mimic a voice, it just feels all the more bizarre when it can fabricate voices anyway. Sure, I can see the logic there if that's how it is, but you see what I mean by one or the other makes more sense over both? Either a frightening human-machine abomination with the ability to mimic voices or a deadly predator that hunts its prey down, xenomorph-style, to steal their voices for mimicry. Again, one or the other I get, but both just feels off to me. Like they are doing too much at once, almost to the point of redundancy.

coming to watch this right after finishing your silent hill: a short message video! having a lot of fun watching these (also thank you for your service for those who are too afraid to play those themselves) 😂
There's a pretty simple explanation as to why your character survived the Hour of Joy: *you weren't there.* On August 8, 1995, you weren't at work. It's implied that you had either quit, been fired, or replaced sometime before August 8. Ten years later, you get an anonymous letter telling you to come back to the factory in order to find the employees. Wanting to atone (either from survivor's guilt or the idea that you may have played a part in the Bigger Bodies Initiative experiments, which is also implied), you comply, which of course sets off the events of Chapter 1. Admittedly, some of this information comes from Project: Playtime, which is a spin-off co-op game made by the same people that you haven't played. This game is also where the one creature you were confused about in the Hour of Joy tape is from. That is Boxy Boo, and prior to seeing him in this chapter, it's thought that he wasn't even a canon character.
Tbh I checked out the live-stream expecting not to like this game. Well, around ten minutes of gameplay and I was sucked in for the whole thing and now I'm planning to watch parts 1 and 2 as well. 😂For me the scariest part (well, apart from the monsters, haha) was the story part about [SPOILER] . . . all the employees getting locked in and singling out the note writer to starve apparently!? Full offence but I'd have built a weapon and eaten my coworkers too, how dare they. 😡(jk) [SPOILER] Those notes were really sad. @@Invalidationcoded There is clearly an endgame planned out, they just use an episodic sales model to sell finished chapters instead of trying to go Early Access and taking flak as they build the later, more complex sections of the game. Every once in a while, an abandoned place will just...never had its electricity turned off, even though it should have. There's an episode of Ghost Hunters where they were in - I think an old insane asylum? - and their EMF readers kept picking up steady readings, which indicates electricity is running. Finally they tested something and found the electricity was running, called up the groundskeeper(/security guard) who contacted the power company and the power was SUPPOSED to have been turned off 20 years ago.... and it somehow slipped through the cracks so the power was still running

I feel like Ollie is the prototype playing with everyone.
I never thought of that
Yeah, my thoughts exactly. I think he's using the boy that was mentioned in the radio broadcast. You know.. the body of his...
I think he is too. He says things like, “the kids used to live here,” rather than “we used to live here.” And then there’s the realization with the tape that the prototype can mimic voices. Ollie is almost certainly NOT a human child.
I’m pretty sure that’s the Ollie voice saying “anything” at 2:44:06 .
Just like FNAF security breach
Love whenever people compare the start of the chapter to Bioshock, cause the whole Playcare thing clearly takes a lot of inspiration from Rapture, as does Ludwig from Andrew Ryan, and that's the best horror game ever made imo so I love when others pick up on it too
"I should think" gives some real "would you kindly" vibes
gab you are so lucky you played this now . mrs . delight used to move every time the light flickered and that would have been so much harder xD
Story spoilers~
My theory/prediction why Ollie being prototype but helping you continue on makes sense is that he wants you to come down to the labs where they stuffed the toys to stuff himself into you and leave the facility.
Anyone else think that opening bit is messed up how they were begging to be drugged to sleep?
That’s the whole plot
Opposite of the Russian Sleep Experiment, but same vibe.

There's an enormous moon above the fake clouds in the lobby of Playcare. I wonder if that's what they ment.
The Barb chaos had me SO stressed! That is such good writing. Haven't been that stressed in a long time, and I didn't even play!
This was the first livestream I was able to catch and watch at least two hours of (because time zones don't always work out in my favor)! It was a treat being able to see this being played in real time. It's nice to be re-living the stream in (edited) video form. Here's to a great week ahead!
Gabs saying she sounds like a monkey when she's surprised (around 25:00), not realizing she did that in the very beginning of the video when she realized the walls were coming closer haha
I don’t know… I think Ollie could be the prototype. The other voice actors have range in their performance. Ollie is the only one that speaks in the same tone and it reminds me of the tape where the prototype is mimicking voices. It was all in one tone too. I think poppy might be being deceived by the prototype too because he knows she’s working against him
Maybe, but why would the prototype lead us into hurting catnap ms delight when they worked for them?
Tbh best part of the video is Gab being super happy about the vending machine in the beginning area and then excitedly reading the snacks🤩🤩🤩

This chapter was so good! My only gripe is that I don't like when horror games make you wear a mask that obscures your vison partially. Its not scary, just frustrating. 8/10 chapter.
SO annoying, that was my same thought!!! It’s not scary even when ur playing, just infuriating bc u can’t see 😂😂
It's nice that we got a more shorter condensed video of the stream cuz I would watch the 5+ hour one but limited data sucks so yay-
I always get chills near the end cuz KissyMissy ;-; I'm thinking the child's picture is actually her when she was still a child...and before turning into the fluffy pink toy that she is.
That radio moment with the death announcement, gave me strong Silent Hill PT vibes....

The whole nightmare PT section is so good, just wish the pacing of the later sections was a bit better.
This chapter shows that the game can be so properly scary and has some serious coding work done. The creature designs are also pretty nice.
Personally I don't really care that much for the "lore" but at least it keeps things a little light hearted.
coming to watch this right after finishing your silent hill: a short message video! having a lot of fun watching these (also thank you for your service for those who are too afraid to play those themselves) 😂
um did anyone else notice that in the home section that the green victorian-ish wallpaper is just a repeating pattern of poppy's face?

I reeeeeallly hope the devs will give a conclusion to this one. I’m tired of having to see games like this leaving players with either a cliffhanger or unanswered questions/plot. Hopefully the story ties up nicely.
I may end up being wrong but it seems to me they are leading it to a final conclusion with the Prototype. As soon as they introduced it it's been teased as the Big Bad you're gonna have a final showdown with
@@Invalidationcoded There is clearly an endgame planned out, they just use an episodic sales model to sell finished chapters instead of trying to go Early Access and taking flak as they build the later, more complex sections of the game. I would guess there's probably 2-4 more chapters coming based on the "Hour of Joy" and the ending of this chapter. We got a sneak peek at the next chapter boss, so it definitely won't be the final showdown with the prototype in the next one.

Secret tip for anyone struggling with Catnap: stand, facing the two hallways next to the main battery holders, make sure the purple hand pad is in front of you, then alternate from there going side to side. This will alternate where Catnap teleports. (Extra special tip: once he starts using the ceiling hatch, just keep pulling the hatch ALMOST closed, over and over.
