    Grew up in extreme Western PA, in Beaver. Grew up on a farm about 25 miles from Ohio. I enjoy your videos, I am in my sixties and now reside in Naples Florida. Keep posting your videos, I really love history, especially in Pennsylvania.

    Jasper park is an awesome place! I’ve gone to some people’s property in the area as well and found a scraper on the owners property. Love seeing people doing local history/archeology!

      I agree its great. I dint like the guy talking about taking the jasper and then he picked up the egg in the nest. I would not invite him onto my property.

    hi, did you explore the south mountain conservancy during your visit? Also did you say there was not a lot to see/find in the jasper cliffs. I want to look for artifacts.

    Conglomerate is like a natural concrete. Is composed of gravel sized rocks cemented together by quartz or calcium carbonate.

    Funny how you get fined and or imprisoned for taking a piece of stone yet the turnpike totally destroyed ancient and historical areas. Hummmmmmmm,, a strange set of values don't you think. Perhaps someone should start excavations under the turnpike and look for jasper. The jasper I have seen from this area is a yellow brown orange color. I have seen artifacts in museums and private collections. I saw a point years ago from the very area in the first half of your video although it was found there long before the turnpike. Another WW cool vid! And by the way, the point I saw from there was one of the most beautiful and well crafted points I'd ever seen. It was a stone used in trading and found many far away places I was told. Happy Wandering Woodsman! DaveyJO in Lanc. Co.

    My understanding is the jasper is yellow. State college also has the yellow jasper but not as fine quality.

      From what I’ve read the red jasper is from being tempered in a fire pit therefore changing the color

    what did the natives use to cut the jasper?

    • @thewanderingwoodsman7227
      @thewanderingwoodsman7227  7 лет назад +2

      They didn't cut it, they flaked pieces off by striking it with another piece of jasper
