    Thank you so much for this! I've been searching forever for a how-to on getting the 5th gen seats in. The forums get close but no one has been as detailed as you. I'm putting together my 67 and there is no way I'm going to be sliding around in those stock seats. lol

      So glad it helped you! Yeah I couldnt find much info on it either, thats why when I decided to just "go for it" I thought a video detailing the process might help someone else. Thanks for letting me know.

    I would like to see how you do the back, I am kinda doing the same thing, but I am using the seats from a 2005 Mercedes-Benz front seats will work fine. By the way I am doing a frame off resto. on a 1966 Chevelle I bought when I was 20 years old I'm 57 now. and anyway the back seat is about 1 1/2" to 2" short I am trying to come up with some idea's how to fill the void on each side with, maybe foam wrapped with black vinyl, and pull in good and tight. If you have any idea's shout back thanks.

      Sadly I have not. I’ve recently had other projects ahead of that (TMi headliner and subframe connectors) that I wanted to do first. But it’s still sitting there waiting for the day. lol

    What size are the spacers on the rear rails? Additionally, how did you hook up the power? Use a relay for each seat?

    @chadschultz412 Год назад +1

    Very nice! Do you have any pics of the bottom "hooks" on the sliders you cut off?? I want to do this mod, just wondering what it looks like. Sliders already have bolt holes once you cut off hooks?

    • @darinandalinahouse9596
      @darinandalinahouse9596  Год назад

      Actually I do believe it or not. Reply with your email and I’ll shoot you a pic. The mount hole is directly in front of the hook. So no reason to drill a hole. It’s already there once you shave the hooks off.

    • @darinandalinahouse9596
      @darinandalinahouse9596  Год назад

      Thanks! The steering wheel is just a cheapo $100 Grant wheel. So many wheels out there that go up in the $1000s. I’m pretty happy I settled with this one.

    How did you hook up the wiring. Did you just cut off the plug for the seat and run a power wire to it? Do 5th gens have airbags in seat?

  • @lm7bird680
    @lm7bird680 Год назад +1

    i'll probably end up doing this to my 68 Firebird, i have some worn out, sun bleached, seats from i have no idea what (definitely not stock). it looks like a set of full power seats from a fifth gen would be a worthwhile upgrade that wouldn't look terribly out of place. especially considering that i can probably get a set of seats for the same price as reproduction seats

    • @darinandalinahouse9596
      @darinandalinahouse9596  Год назад

      Yeah, unless your going for originality staying with stock doesn’t make much sense with all the options out there. I’m not going to say they aren’t wide and you have to do some trimming on the plastic here and there but in the end it’s 100% worth the conversion. Plus now I can sell my stock seats and recoup my money and have a upgrade

      You can add them on to your package when you order the 3 point front seat belts from Morris Classic. I think they have 6” and 9”. I got the 9”.
      It’s the 3rd option down that says “seat type”
