It seems to be a glitch he performed when Yozora grabs Sora. When executed, it breaks the coding and makes the game think the link ISN'T actually active. So the bar doesn't drain because the game isn't sure whether it exists.
My favorite Kingdom Hearts redemption arc is Ariel having the worst worlds in the KH1 & KH2 to being literally the most OP summon/spell in KH3. We did indeed have a lot of Finny Fun.

I can just imagine Yozora being this powerful dude who's been training for years for this moment being told he needs to save sora and he's worked his hardest gaining the most powerful abilities and the strength to do insane things. He has a hatred for sora and wishes to kill him and finally one fateful day he encounters him and goes to fight him. He know's it'll be the most important and hardest battle of his life so he is putting in 100% and is ready to kill this strange being that takes the name sora. But then sora just summons a random mermaid and then just starts bouncing across the entire arena while being like WOOHOO creating tons of water fountains as yozora just tries to kill him but can't he's yelling screaming internally as he tries to kick and punch shoot and slice this person but to no avail as he goes freaking confused and deranged from WHATEVER THE FRICK THIS IS. all the while sora is just going like UNDAH DA SEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAA. and then all the fountains activate at once and yozora just dies while sora is taking a selfie of him being freaking destroyed
That's not nearly as disgraceful as my win. So, I only played Critical mode to unlock the Oblivion Keyblade, so I started it with EZ Cheats, 1 hit kill. What I didn't realize, is that the 1 hit kill (even though the description said it wouldn't work on some bosses) killed every single boss in one hit, including Dark Inferno, the Data Org, and even Yozora himself. So, I killed Yozora on Critical mode in one hit with cheats.
What’s funny here, is instead of combos and trickery, something like this would more than likely be Sora’s perfect win condition. This is all up his alley!
Before he knew it, Yozora was all washed up. Drowning in deep despair, regretting the day he met Sora, a simple boy from a little world called Destiny Islands. He was born near the ocean after all, so it was only natural he made friends with Ariel in Atlantica.
I felt that using the summons was a trap so i didnt use them for ANY of the data battles or Yozora, the same with the Kupo coin in my first time defeating them, it was suffering
@@hedgehogsonic11 Yeah, using Kupo coin in a fight against Yozora is a bad idea. I had forgotten that he steals the items and he used against me the Kupo coin. It was frustrating.
I just beat him for the first time, and even on Beginner, he is NOT fun, so I'm glad I knew about the Kupo Coin bs before hand, because to have my victory stolen from me again, in an even more bs manner would've just done me in.
As soon as I saw you summon Ariel I got flashbacks to when I did the exact same thing to beat Yozora for the first time. It was the day after Re:Mind came out and I just wanted to go ahead and beat him to see the secret ending. I didn't have an unlimited Link mod though!

Lingering will did it back in kh2, and he also kept the battle snappy and kinetic. Yozora... really doesn't do that. It's a lot of waiting and trying to get just one opening. It's dumb
