I found your channel this year, Mr. Dweeb and it's been a highlight for my 5yr old son and I. We love watching your videos and deciding together on what our next tech toy will be. Your voice always puts a smile on my sons face, so thank you for all of the time and effort you have put into your channel!
Honestly Dweeb, yours has quickly become one of my favourite tech channels. I got majorly into the whole retro/emulation scene this year (even bought an RGB30 and an RG-ARC) but of all the reviews I’ve watched yours are always the most enjoyable. Your ability to not take yourself, or the subject matter, too seriously just gives your videos this feeling of authenticity. You always make sure to hit the important points, while making the journey just… fun! Whether it’s your little cut-out paper puppet shows, or barking orders for pocket tests at Not-TechDweeb, or arguing with the Norse gods embedded in your devices, you always have a fun creative way of standing out from the crowd. Here’s to a great 2024 Dweeb, you deserve that and more!
3:10 really highlights what I love about your channel. I think you're one of the few people who gets that the form of the device makes a huge difference in how games are presented and enjoyed. There's something more than just processing power and price that makes handhelds what they are. Looking forward to more from you.
Your videos have been a great source of comfort during an awful, awful year; so was the V90 which they've convinced me to get. Thank you for that. Happy holidays, and keep on keeping on.
Best channel I subscribed to this year, hands down. I'm so happy I did it. Today I came home after work, exhausted, turned on YT and BAAM! new video. Today it was a good day.
I finally gave in and bought an RGB30. It will be here Saturday and I'm hoping mine doesn't have any of the faults I have seen some of them get. I just couldn't pass up that screen.. and being a lover of SHMUPS it is right up my alley.
Im looking for a whole 'nother year of tech and dweebiness! Thank you for everything TD, can't express enough how much we appreciate all of your effort
As someone that found your channel and now owns a ser6 max, mm+, gaming pc that streams locally to my other devices, and a steam deck oled -- I feel very validated by this video LOL. TYSM for all of the effort you put towards this channel. I know it's a ton of work and I'm certain you'll become one of the big players in this yt space. Your quality and consistency uploading in 2023 is as close toa guarantee of success on yt as you could get.
Congrats on an excellent year. While most of the tech you make videos is out of my depths, your creativity, good humor, and heart always pick me up, and I never miss one. Would love to see you do more videos on retro games themselves--maybe themed "packs" of retro games with specific vibes, or shared type of excellence, or the like?
2023 is huge were starting to see higher refresh rates as standard, even a basic Walmart phone can run some decent emulation, emulation handhelds are cheap, VR is getting pretty good. Amazing
Happy New Years TD and TD's mom, thanks for letting us all hang in her basement playing some great games with great friends on great tech. Hope you all have a remarkable year ahead of you filled with much of the same greatness. Cheers to the year of TechDweeb may it find you and your's happy and healthy.
Got the SN30 Pro for Christmas. It's like the best controller I've ever used for 2D games. Mario Wonder feels right on it. I grew up playing DS games in the late 2000's and the SN30 Pro D-pad feels authentic for 2D games.
It’s been a great year for TechDweebs (and TechDweeb)! Thanks for all the awesome content can’t wait to see what you get up to in 2024. Happy new year !
You have good taste, sir! I love my Keychron Q65, after giving it some nice caps, switches, and heavily customized firmware. Also love my 8bitdo Pro 2, which is basically a SN30 Pro with grips and some extra features. Would love some of the other items here too, but I already have so many toys that it's hard to keep them from getting dusty. I feel especially guilty about not spending more time with my Akai Force and Sequential Pro 3. Those things are freakin' amazing.
I love the gamesir. It turned my phone into a much more powerful retro gaming handheld on par with Odin 2. I also love the portability of an RP3 plus. I lost count how many hours I spent playing retro games and streaming on it. I'm thankful for discovering this channel. 🙏
Yeah I was playing with the Gamesir shortly after I made this video and was reminded why I love it so much. Lots of gaming goodness for the price if you have a decent phone to go with it.
@@TechDweeb I only wish for a gamesir x3 with better buttons. Or a gamepad where you can insert an sd card. Mihoyo games, ps2 and switch roms are kinda a pain to squeeze inside my phone. Which makes the odin 2 very tempting
Love this channel I found this year like others here. Thank you TechDweeb for the fun and informative content. A different channel compared to others, just right for me. 🙂
I got the Miyoo Mini and in 15 min thought it was a hair too small for my eyes so I stopped using it, then I got the Miyoo Mini + and love it.... Now my OG Miyoo Mini is up for sale.... LOL
Best channel for retro gaming, love your unique style and all the little details. Mostly bought your most recommended tech and gaming stuff hahaha. Can't wait for the content in 2024 ❤
Hell yeah!!! Even though I just got the x55, I had a hunch and until today I gave up to it. Less than half an hour I just ordered my Miyoo Mini Plus and I know I won’t regret 😃 I am a huge fan of yours. Please keep being yourself and don’t change, because you motivate me (also) to be myself like this: different than the others. Greetings from Guadalajara, México
I really wanted the Powkiddy RGB30, but it's not available where I live. Customs duties and import taxes make it non-feasible. I ended up settling for the Powkiddy X55 since a local dealer had it in stock.
I have an addiction to retro handhelds. I have an Odin 2, and I love it. But I wanted something cheaper to take places with me/use for lower end retro. So I got an RG353PS on Black Friday for $60. It’s great, then the Arc came out and I was like “oh, I have a SNES handheld. I need a Genesis handheld. So I ordered one.. lol
I have a 8BitDo SN30 pro+ and I love it. Thinking of buying another one. I use it for everything. Mine has hand grips 🎮 I love my Seam Deck 😄 Best emulation/game preserver ever ♥ When I was a kid, I always dreamed of playing my console games on the go, and now I can 👍🏻
Fun as always, I got a Rokid Max for xmas . It's pretty cool, You should check the AR glasses scene sometime. Maybe review them. I wear glasses so they work for me pretty good. enjoyed the years videos . Keep it up!
Have you considered making a bezels tutorial video? You’re the only YTer I see who regularly hs bezels for retro games in 16x9 screens (or things like GBA/GB in 4x3 screens) and I’d love to be on your level. Keep up the great content in 2024, it’s always a pleasure to watch!
Curious if you'd be able to check out the Viture glasses and neckband? Would love to know your opinion! I've been interested in using them with handheld consoles.
Great video thank you very much. I am surprised you did not mention the retroid pocket flip. In your Review Video it seemed like you really enjoy the device. Any reason why it is not one of your favorite Devices of 2023?
Excellent channel and treatment!! For the same price (living in Canada too :)) between « the ultimate Miyoo mini with Onion and games » or the RG30B preloaded too. My balance is jammed… The OS that everyone loves, the shape and game boy feeling vs the 1:1 beautiful screen, the bold design and versatility? A small advice? (This will be my first retro handheld, and not to play 3D stuffs). Thanks. Keep going. 🎉
That's the post-process stabilization effect that I use in my video editing software. Usually it looks good but sometimes I get weirdness like this. I often reshoot the scene when it goes weird like this but I didn't bother today.
You know that hard drive with all these games? Do they sell a memory card with games on it? I wanted a retroid system but don’t have a pc to download roms & I don’t even know where to look, it would make things so much easier
Not a card with games specifically for an android device like a retroid, but if it's just a matter of wanting the ROM files you could grab one of these drives just to get the rom collection, and then copy whatever you want over to your SD card.
Great video. I fully agree about the Miyoo Mini+. It's just a perfect little thing. I bought three as Xmas gifts, with a curated set of ROMs. On Dec 27th, as my family gathered in the pub to celebrate my mother's birthday, my niece ignored us all because she was playing Tetris Attack on the SNES. A handheld SNES in the hands of a Gen Z kid, in the year 2023, in a pub at Christmas time. That's what Jesus died for I think. Have a great 2024, TechDweeb (and do lots of hidden gems vids they are the best).
2024 will be the year of the Vita, whereby I haunt comment sections waxing lyrical about how great the Vita is and why you need a (custom firmware installed) Vita in 2024!
Try to get a Hold of a GPD Win Mini, I'd love to hear your thoughts on it, I might check out that pixel art thing it looks interesting, and I bought that emulation drive after seeing your video. It's almost perfect. I just wish it used everything in one front end instead of 3, I would of rather of had more retro games than the Playnite stuff.
Steam Deck seems like such a neat setup and price tag BUT that thing seems so bulky. Its the only reason why I'd consider the Retroid Pocket or an Anbernic since I'm not looking to play current or the last couple gen games, I got my gaming PC for that and don't like to deep dive into something on the go or anywhere else but at home on my rig. So I feel like the Steam Deck although is a great deal, I'd rather have something a bit more compact.
@@TechDweeb it was pretty scary. I damaged my screen a little bit but it’s still mostly fine. But I stayed up until 3 AM doing my shell swap because I was too stressed to go to sleep with it all torn down 😂
I like the Pow Kitty 🐈 RBG 30. Trimium Pro HD. Ambernic RG 351 series, Pow Kitty 🐈 MAX 1 series. Swith lite, Switch OLED, Steam 🚂 Deck, Couple of older consoles that run : Vita, Original New 🆕 3ds, PS3, WiiU, Kin Hank Lite PC emulator with the quad core Celeroni....
This year was such a year, sometimes while sleeping I dream playing handhelds. I think I played some retro games so much, my own brain is kind of capable of emulating those with my third eye 😂😅👾👁... maybe next year I won't need handelds anymore, people often think I am zoning out, when in fact I am medidating retro games emulation sessions...
Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle here and could really use your help. I'm trying to find the right retro handheld console. I mainly want to play NDS Pokémon games and DJMAX 2 on the PSP (it's a rhythm game, if you're not familiar). I need something powerful enough to handle these games, but also with a good D-pad that won't give up on me when I'm spamming buttons in DJMAX. Oh, and it needs some kind of joystick input that are easily activate on the fly (a joystick isn't neccasary). I'm pretty new to this whole retro handheld world and honestly, it's a bit overwhelming with all the choices out there. Any advice or recommendations would mean a lot to me!
For $54 I think it's an L, you can get a miyoo or anbernic for $10 more. For budget beaters, maybe the SF2000 is still great for only $10 on sale. But that's just me, you do you 🕺🤺
2023 was not the best year for me. Its starting to get better for me though right now and tech that came out this year like the 35XX and especially the RP2S has helped keep my mind off all the bad stuff. As well as channels like this one of course. So thank you for that techdweeb. I look forward to how 2024 is gonna go cause it does seem like there is nowhere to go but up right now for me. And hopefully for everyone else as well.
Hey, tech dweeb I’m having issues updating my payment information because I lost my wallet. I received my credit cards recently. Do you know where on RUclips to update the payment method? because I can’t find any source to update it. Thanks bro and by the way great video.
Thanx for making your characters voice less "stuffed up" if i can say that? Iv commented on the past how i loved your content but the voice was making me anxious and had the feeling that i couldnt breathe myself lol.
I was the most popular father on Christmas day, I bought the kids all the best handheld of 2023, the Powkiddy RGB30. This handheld is ready to rock out of the box, my 22 year old Daughter got addicted, I got the most hugs on Christmas , also I dropped the deck, too hot, console play is best for the old steam engine. Thanks Dweeb) your friend in time Skud Missle, Dweeb my brother check out The Lance Meisner Effect I am the world champ on the arena shooter game called CURVED SPACE , I took first place last month with just 1 eye, yeah,. I did it docked on the deck. Hey Dweeb how do you feel about the Switch?
Congrats on winning Christmas! Never heard of Curved Space but it looks up my ally. I LOVE the switch. I don't really do any content on it because I don't feel like I ever have anything interesting to say, but I love gaming on my switch, and I love the Nintendo exclusives. I'd buy more indies on it if I felt like Nintendo would give us access forever, but as it is I don't trust them, I'd rather build my library on steam where I'm likely to have it much longer. 🤷♂️
fast reply, yeah I haven't gave up on Nintendo either, Nintendo set the tone, and has held its own, at one point I lived in Redmond Washington, We probably wouldn't be discussing handhelds without them.@@TechDweeb
As a 3080 owner I see no reason to upgrade unless you just don't want all the heat and power usage which is fair. The pricing is just terrible. The minimum vram I would want is 16 GB to upgrade from a 3080. But yeah the 4070 Ti is definitely the minimum for a real perf bump. There is reasonably better RT performance because of the new architecture thankfully so for those games it's a respectable if run of the mill upgrade. I run at 3440x1440 so my vram needs are just a bit higher
Thank you for the delightful vid-jee-yoes of 2023, T.Dweeb. Is it true you're being replaced by another actor in 2024, like Darren in season 6 of Bewitched? I'll reject the DoppleDweeb at first, naturally. But sooner or later I'll warm up to him and oh the comments I shall leave.
2023 was the year I found out about retro handhelds with Russ in RGC and them RUclips kept recommending me this weird purplish orangish channel with a Canadian Dweeb in the thumbnails. One day I clicked on it and fell in love with your style. Your channel is my favorite tech channel nowadays in fact I only don't recommend you more because I live in Brazil and many people don't know English but hey I showed your yoyo and pen tricks to my wife and she smiled, so I think anyone would love your channel even if they're not interested in tech stuff. In fact me and my wife dream about living in Canada one day(we like Guelph) and I just realized my favorite RUclipsrs are Canadian (you, Mr Sujano, Kbash), so in some way, I started feeding this dream again with the possibility to meet you IRL one day. Of course, it takes a lot of money to take 2 adults, 2 kids, 1 golden retriever and 1 pekingese tô another country but hey nothing is impossible I guess 😅. My main goal of 2024 is to improve my financial life and I even thought about starting my own channel (channels because my ADHD won't let me talk about just one niche) to help achieve that goal. I hope 2024 will be a good year for you Dweeb, I'm very grateful for knowing your channel this year and I'm sorry for the long text, but I think it's your energy that make me write a lot without even noticing. Thanks for reading tech dweeb byebye
So the Steam Deck has the kind of form factor that Apple tries to provide and distinguish themselves by? (I'm not an Apple fan, but it seems like the same kind of language Apple fans use when they try to explain the appeal of their products.)

It didn't make the list because I haven't made my review yet, but it's coming up asap!
What a great year for this channel. Feels like the best of times to start a charity for, say... dementia? What could go wrong?
Good idea! I have a bank acct where I can hold the money until just the right time. No way that can backfire!
Enjoyed watching this video Looking forward to all the good TechDweeb stuff we shall see in 2024 Take care!!
Thank YOU for your support my dude!

No. YOU are the best 🤩
Yeah I'm with ya about the playnite stuff. I added a bunch of PS3 and Xbox 360 after deleting that stuff. Nice to have some extra space to work with!
I agree that the steam deck looks pretty boring. But I did a shell swap and now I love how it looks! You should try it out if you’re brave enough.
I actually got sent a shell but I never did the swap because it looked scary 😱
And a couple of older gaming laptops that can beat the steam 🚂 Deck no problem....
Here’s to more TechDweeb in 2024!
🍻
This year was such a year, sometimes while sleeping I dream playing handhelds. I think I played some retro games so much, my own brain is kind of capable of emulating those with my third eye 😂😅👾👁... maybe next year I won't need handelds anymore, people often think I am zoning out, when in fact I am medidating retro games emulation sessions...
Definitely!
This yr was definitely ttitis ended with the steam deck oled. Wish the yr would have started with it. Lol would saved alot of money lol
You are more like the best handheld youtube creator in 2023 :))❤😂
Oh you 😊
Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle here and could really use your help.
That sticks buddy. Hope 2024 is better for ya. And I'm glad you have some fun tech toys to distract you. I'm rooting for you!
@@TechDweeb thank you
Hey, tech dweeb I’m having issues updating my payment information because I lost my wallet. I received my credit cards recently. Do you know where on RUclips to update the payment method? because I can’t find any source to update it. Thanks bro and by the way great video.
Thanks buddy!
Here's the best answer I can find for ya: support.google.com/youtube/answer/9517178?hl=en&co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop
Thank you, Tech Weeb, a.k.a. Swoll dweeb lol got it bro
Thanx for making your characters voice less "stuffed up" if i can say that?
Iv commented on the past how i loved your content but the voice was making me anxious and had the feeling that i couldnt breathe myself lol.
the official nso snes pad feels way better and more premium than the sn30 imo
I was the most popular father on Christmas day, I bought the kids all the best handheld of 2023, the Powkiddy RGB30. This handheld is ready to rock out of the box, my 22 year old Daughter got addicted, I got the most hugs on Christmas , also I dropped the deck, too hot, console play is best for the old steam engine. Thanks Dweeb) your friend in time Skud Missle, Dweeb my brother check out The Lance Meisner Effect
I am the world champ on the arena shooter game called CURVED SPACE , I took first place last month with just 1 eye, yeah,.
No ROG Ally 😢
you should check out the K4 you wont regret it
Yo dweeb, today's the first time I tried root beer after hearing about it from you. Gotta say, I loved it. Also great video lol
Nice! In that case, CHEERS!
Jokes on you. We already switched!
Wow man thanks so much for taking the time to say so! I have family in Guelph, great city IMO. You totally should!
So the Steam Deck has the kind of form factor that Apple tries to provide and distinguish themselves by? (I'm not an Apple fan, but it seems like the same kind of language Apple fans use when they try to explain the appeal of their products.)
Sell sweaters like yours, awesome Tech Dweeb shirts.
