My husband and I started drinking this tea once a day. The first day we noticed we were very alert throughout the day. No brain fog. It helped suppress our appetite. We did not crave sweets as we normally did before. That was just in a week of drinking it.
@@angelicam103 Oh interesting, I will look that up. We have sold some flowers and seeds in bulk because we have so much. Beautiful vines with continues blossoming flowers surrounding our land. If you get a chance try and grow some :)
So happy you enjoyed the video! I hope you have some flowers to make your own tea. So much disruption in the world now days because of this virus. We could all use a tea time.
Thank you for watching! We will have a new special tea video up in a few weeks. We are looking forward to trekking into the jungle for the ingredients.
Tamil grandmothers are smiling. This is a drink has spread from Tamil India to Taiwan, Thailand, Indonesia and Malayasia from Tamil people moving to these countries as government workers during the British rule of India in the 1800s.
Now is the perfect time to pick the flowers. If you let the plant go to seed it will think it has run its cycle and fade back for the season. If you constantly pick the flowers it will continue to blossom. Mabey I should do a how to dry the flowers video for you 😀
I sue dry mine, a Thai lady told me the heat of the sun might be too hot, it might kill some of the good stuff. But the plant grows well under the sun, so I don’t quite understand 🤣
I don't think you need to wash them, just bring the water to rolling boil. Allow the water boiling for a ninute to kills bacteria in the water then put flower in. 😁
Hi Contad! So sorry for the late reply I just found your qwestion. Butterfly Pea Flowers are okay to use in food and is a harmless food coloring made from stepping the flowers in hot water. I don't know of any unique allergic reactions to this specific flower?
Hi! Yes, after we have steeped all the blue out we compost them back into the garden. To store the flowers in dry bags till we ether use or sell. We do use alot and grow alot the flow of growing, drying, selling butterfly pea flowers is a constant process here.
So true, and hopefully nice and light. Obviously, I prefer Thai palm sugar 🤠 I have found the palm sugar in other parts of the world to be mixed with alot of cane sugar and is much more grainy and dark. I think your preference is what you grow up with.
That is a good question! And off the top of my head "don't know?" I as well as you probably googled this. I got contradictory answers. So I would error on the side of caution and say no? Good question though and will bring this up with our family dr.

Wow, this is good to hear. Do you grow and dry your own flowers or buy them from a shop?
@@ThaiSecretCookingSchool We buy the dry version in bulk from Amazon. Also sells the individual tea bags for one cup serving.

Can you re-boil the flowers or only use once?
You can re-boil them but the color will be lighter and benefits of herbs will be little after first boil. Good luck and have fun cooking with them😁

Thank you for the video. Are the white varieties just as beneficial?

My vines have many flowers right now. When would you recommend to harvest the flowers from the vine for tea?

@@ThaiSecretCookingSchool that would be amazing! 🤩
If you don't mind me asking, what country are your flowers growing in? Just curious🤔
@@ThaiSecretCookingSchool USA (Texas to be exact)
Cool! That is good news, we are thinking of selling seeds online. We have alot... more then we need. Happy gardening!
This is so beautiful. So you just dry them under the sun?
I've seen it done with just using the sun, but like the company that ships them like 45 minutes in a dehydrator works well also.
Yes, that is a great method! Might be a good idea for us but we just do this as a little hobby.
I sue dry mine, a Thai lady told me the heat of the sun might be too hot, it might kill some of the good stuff. But the plant grows well under the sun, so I don’t quite understand 🤣
Might be, but in the shade / right next to the direct sun light is how I have been drying them. I think it works good for me this way.
Wow
Must we wash the dried flowers before boil it? Tks
I don't think you need to wash them, just bring the water to rolling boil. Allow the water boiling for a ninute to kills bacteria in the water then put flower in. 😁
Will the tea turn purple if mix with lemon and brown sugar
The acid in the lemon should change the blue to purple. Brown sugar sounds good.
Hello healthy morning everyone
It's a beautiful morning!
I have white colour of this flower. Can i use this for tea?
I belive so, although it won't have the beutifull blue color.
Do you have to put lime or lemon in? I can't ever have them or any citrus.
You can and citrus or just make it with out all depends on your preference.
Hello , what kind of flower tea is that?isn't poisonous, aim just asking.
Hi Contad! So sorry for the late reply I just found your qwestion. Butterfly Pea Flowers are okay to use in food and is a harmless food coloring made from stepping the flowers in hot water. I don't know of any unique allergic reactions to this specific flower?
We have a butterfly tea plant in the garden but it has very few flowers. Can you also use the leaves of the butterfly tea plant to make tea?
Remove the seed pods and remove the spent flowers (dead head). Don’t let it develop pods so that it will have a lot of flowers
Very helpful and she's so cute!
I love it 💗💗💗
You love lean ? 🤣🤣
do you throw the used flowers away when you’re done with them? and also where do you keep the flowere before you use them?
Hi! Yes, after we have steeped all the blue out we compost them back into the garden. To store the flowers in dry bags till we ether use or sell. We do use alot and grow alot the flow of growing, drying, selling butterfly pea flowers is a constant process here.

I would think so... it's just flower tea :)
hello can I do this with 1 whole orange?
Sure you can but it might make it a bit sour? Give it a try and let us know :)
How many times do we drink this per day?
How ever you like. I have it about two or three times a month, its a treat :)

Just look for Palm sugar.
Its like a yellow paste.
Yes, @MasterPiece1419 is correct. Its like a paste, the color and texture might be lighter or darker depending on your region.
So true, and hopefully nice and light. Obviously, I prefer Thai palm sugar 🤠 I have found the palm sugar in other parts of the world to be mixed with alot of cane sugar and is much more grainy and dark. I think your preference is what you grow up with.

Hahah 😄 no atleast not permanently... it can give your tongue, skin a little blueish tone. But it fades away fairly fast. It's just a flower 🌼

Might be a temporary blue but no big deal 🙃
You are using high quantity of flowers for only a glass of water . I am also using it and just half to one spoon flowers are enough for 1 glass water.

Hi, does it stain your teeth?
Hahah! Mabey temporary blue toung but it won't last long. It's just a flower 🌼

Hello..what is the level of toxicity in our body .if we drink blue ternats
even you dont boil just pour hot water still the color will come out
Hot water is best for steeping the color out of the flower.
It is advisable that you should not prepare this tea in metal containers.
