I remember back when people were shying away from terms like "psychic", "medium", & :psychic reader in favor of terms like "intuitive" , "intuition", & "intuitive reader" or "intuitive guidance", and now everything flip flopped. Psychic vs. Intuitive. Psychic vs. Intuition. Lets Dive In.
In this video I disambiguate the terms Intuitive & Psychic, which are often used interchangeably but also incorrectly in some spaces, as well as discuss the change in attitude & how we can best understand these subjects going forward. I've had plenty of clients come to me feeling used by people claiming to have psychic abilities who were really just intuitive coaches / counselors who either, on purpose or on accident, marketed themselves as psychic & spiritual practitioners. AND I have had situations where I have had to recommend & refer out clients who were looking for intuitive counseling & coaching which I do not offer. Because I am a psychic. What one calls themselves & what they are looking for are always their personal business, however let's choose clarity over confusion in all things because it never serves us, our paths, or the people we serve to not know what we are talking about or what we are looking for.

Yes!!! I just had this conversation the other day with someone. I'm 42 and have said "I hate to use the term psychic because of the carnival connotations." I, too, feel everyone has intuition; some people are just more intuned to it than others. I also believe tuning in can be situational. You will hear examples of this many times when listening to survivors of traumatic events tell their stories. I am a Cancer Sun, a sign with a reputation for being highly intuitive. Studying astrology, I also discovered Neptune is conjunct my ascendant (20deg of Sag). I found it interesting to read the meaning as "intuitive to the point of being psychic." I'm fairly intelligent and very sensitive to patterns. Many of my accurate predictions of outcomes can be attributed to the powers of deduction and seeing the patterns. Then there are examples throughout my life where there is no explanation how I knew. I just did. When it comes, it's me in my voice, but speaks with an authority and is different from my normal internal monolog. It's more than my intuitive feeling; it's a knowing. Psychic is so far the best word to describe it, but again, I'm hesitant to use it for reasons perfectly described in this video. I remember ESP, too, and it being a topic of discussion. Then it seemed to vanish sometime in the early aughts. I hope more people comment and discuss here because it's not an opportunity my daily life affords me, especially comfortably.
Same here! My moon and sun are in cancer. And I have wildly intuitive/profetic dreams and definitely have a strong intuition. But I also feel (my mercury is in gemini) that a lot of the time I'm noticing patterns and putting 2 and 2 together. But then there are times that I feel clairvoyant and clairaudient and there's no way that I could have deciphered or known the info. One of the best ways for me to find something or know something is to ask. And at times I get answers that come from the ethers. It's awesome.
Same here! That’s why I chose to be a tarot reader. I market as using cards, and leave the question of whether it’s psychic alone. If asked, I’ve said intuitive, but I might make that part of an intake form, as he said.
Most of the time it’s intuitive, but sometimes the cards go grey and I get something more profound. The thing is, with me that’s not every client because my ability seems to kick in when warnings are serious. Most clients think their situation is serious when really it’ll get better on its own, or often is not really a relationship, so the message isn’t as full-on, and instead it’s choice, and reflection.
By it not being serious, I don’t mean to make light of their situation and feelings, their perception. I just mean there’s a difference between intuiting what to do with that, and warnings about house invasions, etc.

I just love all the people who think that being empathic is some kind of superpower. It's all intuition and we all have access to it. And some of us are more sensitive to the energies around us. But that is a skill that anyone can hone. I don't mind psychics, it's all the sad little tortured, broken, and unfairly abused "empaths"/intuitives running around that piss me off.

thank you! i love these talks. breaking down the nuances and being blunt when we need to about things, instead of trying to ease collective discomfort and tiptoe around topics, is so important and missing, and i really hope you do help to revive a strong and healthy community. emphasis on healthy for sure. i tend to use the word intuitive, myself, because that's how i saw it as i grew more comfortable with my true nature and skills. but if i really think about things, there's a bit of psychic and a bit of intuitive that blend together quite nicely in me. i've also been working hard to find myself, accept myself, heal from codependency, and truly stand in this world as myself, so the word psychic was something i would have been afraid to use in the past out of a sense of imposter syndrome mixed with fears of harmful ostracization or worse. as i continue to grow into myself and my gifts over time, i'm sure that my sense of things will shift. it took me a while to go from "i wish i could be an artist," to "i want to be an artist," to "i am an artist," so i figure that this could evolve in a similar fashion.

I've always believed that when you are "something" you don't have to say "it" because you already are "that" and vibrating that as in psychic or intuitive. People will "see" that or sense "that" when they meet you.. that's what I've always been therefore I don't have to do anything cause I'm already being that. My vibration or aura is already at a frequency people can trust.

I started to learn and develop back in the mid 2000’s. There was hardly anything online related to mysticism. I used to hope no one would see me browsing in the New Age section of B& N. And yes, it’s nice to see the word Psychic being used openly, but still some charlatans use it to rip people off.
