- The intro movie for second Wipeout game was the first major title I worked on after I had created and set-up the post production facility at Pysgnosis in Liverpool. (Wavertree office) Editing and post effects were completed on Avid and Illusion with post sound designed internally and then mixed in Manchester. (So long ago I can't remember the post house, but will amend on recall!) The animation was created by Jim Bowers and Nicky Westcott.

This intro is a significant part of my childhood..
Nothing but massive respect and awe for the minds who managed to create this wonder of a sequence. Such tangible atmosphere... Such level of creativity and vision to offer a glimpse into this raw future setting, with the completeness of visuals, sounds, feel, action... One of the few game sequence that left the deepest impression with me.
us kids, who practically spent an entire decade playing this video game that made us
a little bit freak, but with great taste in music. We just need to thank the creators who were even moe FREAKS! THANXXXX
I have been in love with the general aesthetic and sound design of this game for about 25 years
The animation was storyboarded, and created by Nicky Westcott.
I wish I had epilepsy to experience the fire caused by the flashing! Ah good time those were when Red Bull were advertised and sold to kids regardless of its chemical composition causing ADHD. BEAUTIFUL TIMES.
thanks for posting
Possibly the best game intro for atmosphere I've ever seen since I started gaming on a ZX81 way back ,despite it being a good few years old now
I would have been working nearby at the time in Barclays just around the corner from you!
Does a high resolution version exist anywhere? Would love to watch this in HD on a 40" screen!
I think the only intro that comes close to this is the original Battlefield.
What is the reading of 'ムツCKシシう'?
This is hard for Japanese to recognize🤯🤯
I think the characters are spelling LUCK-EE, with Psygnosis 's alphabet. You can see it in original artworks of this opening sequence.
cool
needs to be longer. :D
