Lifelong member here-often struggled to reconcile when Jesus says he is the Father. Loved the explanation that he is not the Father of our spirits, but is our father in many other ways. Mind literally blown, thank you.

I think there would have been a lot more than 2500 people there if they were dedicating the temple and eating a feast. Why did they have to go out and get more people for the second day, it they were already there for a big celebration? I think it seems more likely that the people who were inspired by the Holy Ghost had time to get to the temple, like Nephi, and the 12. The people on the first day had an intimate experience (second comforter), but the people on the second day had a very different experience. They were taught by 12 and not the Savior, and they mostly just watched stuff happen. These things did happen late in the year, but I don't think this seems like an official gathering - it does not seem to match the text. At least, that is how I read it...

Bryce references a whole chapter from CS Lewis... about God fixing up the house and making it way better than we thought. But it also tells the whole first part of the chapter about how once we commit God will keep working on us, maybe even more than we wanted, ha! Any chance you can remind me where that is??
