Agreed, as someone who grew up with N64 and other older consoles, I love to see Quin play games like these, and I'd love to see more. I don't know if he'd be into playing them, or even if he'd have a way to access them, but the "forgotten" gems of N64 like Conker's Bad Fur Day or Jet Force Gemini would be hella fun to see, also the classics like Banjo-Kazooie/Tooie and such. (Also, Quin, if you're reading this, try out Super Metroid on your own with Nintendo Online, assuming you have it. I'm not expecting you to make vids out of it or anything, but it's a game that has aged incredibly well considering the age and I feel like you could actually appreciate it.)

It is not lost on me how impressive it is that Quin records, edits, and releases a video in the span of a day or two. Then interacts/reacts to all the comments. It is something that almost no other let’s player does and it’s cool to hear Quin react to stuff that happened recently such as talking about the Mario movie cast that was announced a day ago. Specifically the backwards long jump (BLJ). This is the Japanese version where they patched it out. However, the N64 Nintendo online version that is coming out later this year "should" include the US version that would work for the BLJs and stuff.
@@QuinBoBin there are speedrun categories for glitchless though that you can always try! Those are fun to attempt too but can be a little slower (imagine doing BotW without bomb launches).

If you want to speedrun this version of this game, make sure you look up things for the shindou version specifically. There was a Japan-only rerelease that patched things like backwards longjumping, and it's the one they used for this version. Different routing between the two. I'm not a speedrunner, but I like watching them. I know the Lowest Percent channel did a review of what things still work? GL with your runs! :D

Day two of recommending Okami. It's very similar to 3d Zelda games, and you play as the sun goddess reincarnated as a wolf. In other words, you get to be a good dog while beating up demons. It's on a lot of consoles, but it's on the switch too which is the one i recommend. This won't stick around for more than 7 times I promise :/
I love watching old games. You don't know how much I miss playing the PS1 or the Saga Genesis. I also miss the N64 and Game Cube too. It was a simpler time back then, lol.

Hey mate, I love that you're doing this! As for tips with speedrun strats, a couple years ago Simpleflips did a collab with ten casual RUclipsrs and it was absolutely hilarious, but also hella informative. I learned a lot. I'll leave a reply with a link to their video
for the slab guy you need to perform the ground pound as he falls on you, because mario is invulnerable (?) while he's in the windup animation for it. For the jump to reach the slab guy, i didn't manage the jump in the video, but you want to be facing left as you slide so you can jump again while on the slope. the guy in the video manages a grab, but my jump allowed me to slide onto it so it was a nice back up plan. excuse the term slab guy, idek his name i forget.
Quin you are genuinely my favorite RUclipsr, you always manage to make me laugh and I constantly enjoy your content no matter what your playing. Anyway,,, have good day :)
This is the shindou version of the game which has a lot of speedrunning glitches patched out. If that's your goal with this you might wanna find a cartridge or wait until they release it to switch online (not sure if that will be the shindou version too though)

if you’re going to be playing more old mario games, you should definitely try to play the original paper mario! the combat is very different but i think it’d be fun!
