    In this video Er. Kishan Ojha, Corporate Trainer of Civil Guruji explaining about How to calculate the Quantity of Shuttering Material like Plywood, Batten, Nails, Props, Jacks etc.
    The quantity of shuttering calculation is very easy and simple with the help of thumb rules. The area of the shuttering is measured in square feet on in square meter depending upon the unit type. Basically shuttering is a temporary structure in the building construction because the shuttering will remove after concrete gets their desire strength.
    In this article we are going to calculate the shuttering quantity with thumb rule, Basically thumb rule gives us an approx quantity which is going to use in our construction work. The quantity is nearly less or more as compared to the actual quantity.
    Before calculating the quantity lest’s clear this first which are going to use in our calculation.
    What is the thumb rule?
    It is defined as we chose a constant number for the approximately quantity calculation (Any think), with the help of our experience and our daily practice. The result we get by using thumb rule is nearly equal to the actual quantity. So the thumb rule is considered as the easiest way to calculate the approx quantities.
    What is Running Feet rft?
    Running feet is defined as the abject front face width and height is to be considered as fixed but how long is the object was to be measured in rft means running feet. The length of the object.
    For better understanding lets solve this example for shuttering quantity calculation.

    hello Kishan sir ...
    Battens 2"*3"*8' aapne Video me btaye acc to thumb rule (7 per ply) lagega but apne whole NOS ply(200) se qu multiply kiye.
    wo to beam side+beam bottom ke area
    i.e. (30% extra for side +60sqm beam bottom area) se multiply hoga n.
    total 120+60=180sqm hoga ...
    then 180/2.88(one ply area) =62.5NOS+wastage10% =68.75nos
    then ,68.75*7=482nos(approx)
    Quantity of Batten =0.05*0.075*482*2.4=4.331cum or 153cuft ye hoga n sir.............
    Total slab area ka ply se qu multiply only beam ke liye batten karna hain to?? kindly confusion dur kijiyen......Kishan Sir..??

    Qty of batten 3*4*8'.. ke liye do baar calculation kiya hai...Ek baar(15:45) 0.9 se divide kiya hai aur dusri baar(17:50) 0.81se divide kiya hai...Which has to follow sir..

      400m² ÷ 0.9 m
      = 444 RM is the quantity of batten.

    As per B. N DUTTA
    Shuttering oil is 0.065 times of shuttering area
    And
    Nails bolta and binding wire is 75gm per metre square.
    So these values u have shown are wrong

    Ms propses ki quantity Galt bataya aapne kyunki slab me .81sqm me 4propes lagenge aur .81Sam me 2lagte hai, propse jo aapne beam me kam kr diye wo kewl 5% hi kam hote hai, baki aapka samjhane ka tareeka bahut achchha hai

    Sir if you taken plywood as slab area then have to separate the beam side bord also .other wise how to order batten. Bcoz in slab you use only square tube not the batten .so how to calculate like 200 ply it may be calculated only that beam whic is you defined with 30%.

    200nos ply boards are for total Area.But we are calculating battens only for beams and columns.

    SIR why we took whole area for finding battens(2.2x.05x.075)?
    for No. of Battens (2.2x.05x.075) = 200x7= 1400( for 200 no. of plates flat area of slab was included)
    while for (2.2x.1x.075) battens again we take flat area, please explain this point thanks

      beam side area is 30% of the total, so it will be 400*30% =120 sqm + 10 % wastage, 120+12=132 sqm
      (132/2.88= 46 Nos) therefore,46*7 =322 battens' is it correct ?

    a bit confused regarding the 2"*3"*8' battens quantity
    the total ply quantity is 200 but these battens are only required for beam side face
    200 ply will not be used there so how come 200*7???

    If i follow the actual dimension of your drawing the total running mtr of beam is 140 MTR( 4 vertical and 3 horizontal and each 20m) and according to thumb rule dimension is coming 240m then what will be better thumb rule or actual size of drawing

    I have one doubt...In beam batten quantity ( 3*4*8') , there quantity taken by flat area , that is correct or not...because beam area is only 15% of flat area you are mentioned...then why using 400/0.9....that will be 60/ 0.9...plz explain
