Mick was easily the best out of all of them. And tbh as a guitarist, he’s nowhere near the best technical player, but he has so much love for his riffs and he dives that attitude of “idgaf I’m gonna play the damn thing.” And that’s something that the majority of guitarists including myself should keep in mind. Although I’m contradicting myself as I play tech death, playing guitar now a days is more about how many notes and crazy techniques can I throw in per second and how can I make my songs impossible to play. Mick had the right idea, give a couple bitchin riffs and play the damn thing instead of worrying about every detail. Just have fun. Even in my style I don’t like hearing bands like rings of Saturn and stuff because it’s just to much, there’s a million tech death albums that share simplicity and technical prowess. Examples would be almost anything from death or (a personal favorite) necrophagist.
He does so many creative dance routines that have airport baton arm waving movements it's extremely difficult to restrain myself from not placing fun balloons in his hands in those clips of him. 🎈 I'm happy you enjoyed! 😁😁😁
