I like the idea of these sharpening stations and thanks for sharing. However, some of these raise the working height more than is comfortable - a matter of personal choice of course. A useful aid on the sharpening area itself is a rectangle of synthetic car chamois that absorbs all the crud and washes out afterwards - also prevents the stones from moving around.
Very nice and a great concept, all in one place. Bob, to build one where I might get the information on placing the setup blocks for the different angles? Thank you
I have just made myself one of these, and it’s probably going to save my marriage. Who knew it was taboo to drag all your sharpening gear into the living room and take over the coffee table? Only issue I’m having now, as I install stops and cleats is how to find the right distance to set each stop back from the edge. Any direction would be greatly appreciated.
Great sharpening kit! Any chance you could tell us the distance from the edge for the four projection guide stop blocks? (20°, 25°, 30°, and 35°) Thanks!
I really love the idea of having that laminate on the part you use to sharpen, so that it wipes off easier. Thanks for the great ideas!
Very well thought out. Terrific job. Thank you for sharing.

They're different for every honing guide. The manufacturer should have provided measurements with your guide.
FineWoodworking Gotcha. Thanks.

That's almost offensively clever.
