Death Grips at rehearsal on February 29, 2012 performing the album track Lost Boys
from THE MONEY STORE
out April 24, 2012 on Epic Records Видеоклипы
POV: You’re crawling on the floor to watch a Death Grips rehearsal as to not be noticed by Zach Hill or Stefan Burnett
*noid levels intensify*
Andy notices you under his dark shades but decides not to bring up the random person spying as it adds more ambiance.
Chris P. Bacon Lmaooooooo this is the best DG thread even if it’s just the 3 of us
Chris P. Bacon Andy joins you on the floor and let’s zack and ride play with no instrumental
You scream and turn around as Andy Morin tripa over you.
“You just messed up my game of Minecraft”. He yells.
Zach Hills drumming is not nearly as noticeable in the normal tracks and that is a shame.
***** yeah he usually only plays physical drums during performances or when they practice, but he helps flatlander make beats and is a big chunk of their production
Diego Grimaldo source?

You seem to be everywhere, man!
I know the feeling, man. Haha tfw you feel all alone in RUclips.... cheers!
that trash cymbal of his sounds so fucking good
+goaway sounds like a goverment plate
He’s got like 3 broken cymbals stacked to make that effect. He did the same thing a lot when when he drummed in Hella.
I know he used a stack of broken cymbals in Hella but I'm pretty convinced he's using a Keplinger cymbal here. Or at least he's using a Keplinger cymbal in a stack. I could be wrong and it could just be his stack of broken shit but it definitely sounds similar to the Keplinger cymbal that John Clardy uses sometimes.
Nathan Fiorentino you may be right. I just know he has a stack he calls the pancake and it’s like a crash, splash and a small ride idk what size and they’re all fucked up and when he hits it it sounds like a quick hiss slap. Hard to describe almost like hitting a hi hat and a china at the same time kind of. He was incredible in Hella. The guitarist was sick as well and made covers of songs but using guitar as chiptune.
sometimes you gotta doing
on the same day this was uploaded, there was a large breakout of tornadoes in the southern states that took 41 lives.
Coincidence? I think not.
Just his bass drum foot alone killed 21 of those
Scary
Truly are lost boys
super soaker lmao
l o s t b o y s
ONE. FOOT.
H e e l - t o e
Swivel
all three
I've noticed he applies different foot techniques for different types of beats, also he sets his foot board as low as it can go cause it's helps with his rebound, I have an iron cobra too and I've watched too many videos trying to see how he sets his up lol
also his spring tension is really loose, I have to play with more tension than he does, but if you watch the Jamacian Fitness improv you'll see he has no tension on his spring.
Eh, he's not really that great of a drummer.
Okay, I can't even joke. He's a fucking god behind the kit.
Ben Just search Zach Hill and watch the first video of him practicing. Any drummer can understand the level of skills and brain it takes to play like Zach Hill. He has speed, complexity, a great sense of time, everything. He used to play in a math rock band I believe.
Shammo Hamid yeah, he played in Hella, you should check out "biblical violence" by them, greatest drumming I ever heard
Dude got his name out there with Hella. People go crazy for him in Death Grips but you hear his wild side in Hella plus Hellas guitarist was pretty good as well he’s in a band called The Advantage and they cover classic video game songs on traditional instruments (band gear) I recommend checking both bands out.
He's not a drumming god he's the drumming devil
They had us in the first half not gonna lie
his foot technique is so amazing it scares me
its just heel/toe its nothing new
yeah wth, its the speed that impresses me
If there weren't videos of Zach Hill's feet it would be really really hard to believe he doesn't use a second pedal.
Looks like a toe heel a reverse almost but he also syncs it with with his hands
@@MarkQuick0411 I think he is mixing heel toe and slide together which I also do because I like the speed of heel toe but I can get more intensity with slide.
wish they'd put more of these rehearsal videos up :(
forreal this nigga is real talent holy shit that fucking precision on those drums!
I keep seeing your comments on death grips vids holy shit
Ikr:c
I want the whole discog with zach's drum tack
but whatever
Still hoping. I'm betting it's on a hard drive in a black hole created by Zach when he drums
Let him cook
MC Rides voice is more menacing here than the album version
people always ask why the album version isn't like this. It's because it just wouldn't sound right on the record. The drums are EQ'd and warped so heavily that all those kick timbres would swallow the entire mix. Plus the rhythms of these drums do exist on the track in the chorus, they're played electronically too, i think they may be just snare samples syncopated in with the beat. listen closely.
I don’t know what you’re talking about but I agree completely
I think they went with the snare samples as a stylistic choice to fit more with the general theme across the album.
You dont know what you are talking about
@@EstuaryEstuary -someone who doesn’t know what their talking about
There’s an unmastered version of the album out there check it out
This band is too perfect to exist.
true
Facts. Proved his point🙅🏽♂️
Damn if Zach Hill is that fast with one pedal I wonder how fast he would be with a double bass pedal
Mystery Man probably cause an avalanche
Would probably cause an earthquake
Don’t give me nightmares
thats not really a fair comparison to make, as a drummer i can say thats now how it works
his right foot isnt fast, he just has amazing slide/heel toe technique
that doesnt mean he can do it with his left foot as well, in fact he probably cant
so itd be more like triple bass instead of quad bass
Jrottin _ I don't play drums but I was thinking the same thing. I could imagine he would adapt to that pretty easily, but let's let him keep grooving with that hi hat.
the precise location of the hem on his left pant leg in relation to his shoe
Quincy Denham what
Klink
pant leg ends right at the top of his shoe
cant unsee
Even his hem is perfect.
It's called sowing ur own pants up
LMAO
YO ZACH HILL DOES NOT FUCK AROUND
I love seeing stefan just having a blast in the background
honestly, just because god is the main focus of the video, doesn't mean both jesus christ's don't deserve shoutouts
They're the trifecta, the Father (Ride), Son (Andy), and Holy Ghost (Zach). Now I'm thinking they, should have named it Trilemma on YOTS.
This is one of my fucking favorite DG recordings ever, this shit is insane.
zach is sooooo fucking good here jesus christ. Ive said it before but if he didnt just recently start shavin his head i swear he would have horns on his head
You seem to be on most dg videos i check out you must be quite the fan haha. I agree though Zach is fucking incredible here. I'm a relatively new fan but I can't seem to get enough.
I have been watching Zach Hill for close to a year. Something I have noticed is that most of the noise he produces from his kit doesn't come from his bass drum. His pedal is fairly loose that how he is doing heel toe so quickly. Yet his bass drum is very noisy and sensitive so it picks up on each hit very loudly.
Look up hella If you haven't already
I would like a whole album like this
just listen to zach hill's music, the drums are super prominent on a lot of his tracks
Some days youre zach hill’s foot, some days you’re the drum.
deep
Zachs footwork on this is absolutely superb
LIKE HOW THE FUCK IS HE KEEPING A CADENCE?!?!?! ._.
I get the feeling he doesn't. He manages to sustain a hard hitting beat while improvising the entire track. I think the basis of the rhythm is Flatlander's sampling, with Zach joining in. I wish their tracks gave Zach more emphasis seeing as I'll never be able to hear it live now.
they didn't break up so live is an option!!!
knowing how much they experiment one of their later tracks or albums will probably evolve to have more Zack.
i mean how they use his talent is great already but could be a bit more.
Sometimes I wish zack would have never left wavves but then I remember that death grips would have never started
ToddIsMyName WAIT WHST HE WAS IN WAVVES HOLY MOLY I NEVER KNEW THAT
What’s funny is Wavves sounded insane live with Zach. I was lucky enough to see them play On Ur Side live and Nate was a snowflake on a windshield compared to what Zach was doing. Don’t get me wrong I loved it but yeah Wavves was a little too toned down for Zach.
yo what's fucking crazy is i would never be here if it wasn't for wavves.
I heard he was also in Scars on Broadway
@@cablevamp3163 No cause he also played for Team Sleep with Chino Moreno
OVER TWO YEARS LATER AND THIS STILL GETS ME
How about another two years? Still gets you?
Just rewatched. Yep, still goes.
whatupdude96 IT GOES
over five years and this still gets me
5 years now
Yo Andy,Stefan,Zach or whoever monitors deathgrippin please upload more of these practice videos we would all like to see them, greatly appreciated from a big fan.
The drumming at 00:07 might be very simple but it sounds so good
Love the way zach plays. rare original drummer
That drum throne's like "I'm not sure if I can handle this"
I remember when I saw them, they had a huge ass monitor next to Zach, and AS SOON as the backing track started, he shot up and yelled as angrily as he could to the sound guy, "TURN IT UP. TURN IT THE FUCK UP".
Bok choy bok choy bok choy bok choy
ITS AN ASIAN CABBAGE!
its such a long one
DAAAAAAMN
IT'S SUCH A STRONG TASTE WOW
Wasp boys wasp boys
password password
Aaron Frank assword assword
Aaron I’ll never unhear this fuck you
Fuck boys Fuck boys "Religious Fucks"
Anyone noticed the speaker right next to Zach? He uses that to hear the track over the drums. Drums are fucking loud and getting speakers to hit your ears the way they do is fucking hard so you gotta use a speaker which I prefer or headphones which just get in the way.
goodbye hearing 😆
It's also crazy that he keeps his cadence just by playing by ear of what's coming out of the monitors.
1:27 got me HYPED
the hihat sounds amazing
When me and the boys get lost
_Aurelion Sol tho_
FUCKING AMAZING!! it's so great to see a live hip hop act that does everything right in front of u. Real drums. Guy on keys. Guy on mic. These 3 cats are a perfect combo for beautiful chaos.
"magic legs" - forest gump
happy 10 years of this vid
Happy 10th Birthday to The Money Store. YUH!
this dude is writing lyrics with those drums
so happy with this wonderful piece of music, and even more excited for No Love. they just keep bringin it!!
That kick technique is beautiful.
Best drummer ever
This song live is going to kill everything
This music reminded me of when a truck almost pushed our car off of the mountain highway. This happened during my eighth grade spring break when my family and I were travelling in our car towards the NYC area to board a cruise.
This particular music sounds like someone smoked cocaine or drank WAY too much coffee.
2:48 omggggggg kill me
Zach's most important contribution (in terms of music/art) will always be Hella for me. That debut blew me away...
I think his speed and variety in Hella is what established him as such a diverse and volatile drummer
from knowing zach in hella and watching this, hes actually calmed a bit but energy is still there and hes still following the music hard. Watch his beats and his lands with some of the lyrics etc
This is so incredibly hypnotic
i'm excited for this album
One of the best sounding videos on youtube
The power of that cymbal count in is insane
I thought he was using a technique I exploited quite a bit before I got a double-kick, using the floor tom to fatten the beat. But, watch that goddamn foot fly, man. Geez.
Zach's the Man! He makes it look so easy...of course this can be said of all the great ones.
te amo
hola
this is beautiful
Watching this again I thought about just how awesome it'd be for the boys to re-release TMS album but drummier, all recorded in a garage somewhere in Sacramento. I know they aren't into "lateral movements" but a man can dream...
Heavy in many ways. One of the heaviest things I've heard.
It's such a long way down. . . .
absolutely cannot believe this groove
DAT RIGHT FOOT THO.
Still in me ....2023 summer....LV ..❤... Jourmala..Latvia 🇱🇻
Sick beats. Love his kit too. The glitch..
BEST THING EVER
1:40 damn that bass drum fill/transition was so clean 😫
Yeah holy shit
NGL i think this is the best place to put yr mic.... total vibes
So good. I have a lot of respect for Zach Hill and the band
ily zach Ill love you forever and ever!
so dope
Man I wish they'd played this one when I saw them this week.
High top vans are the coolest now it’s a fact
Impressive Footwork, Zach.
Zach's an undisputed drum champion of the modernity
Fucking sick kick drum man, I love it
Also, why there's not a single video of Hella playing Osaka?
For whatever reason I want the live rendition of it SO bad
@@pleasetellmethatyouloveme6922 shit
precise insanity
This still amazes me wtf
The trash stack whip is so fucking gnarly!
This is sick!
Better, i love it
gonna see em live next month ! :D
Holy shit
This video got me into Death Grips
hearing him play is very satisfying
fuckfuckfuck yes. this might be the most excited i've been for an album, possibly ever.
Lost boys lost boys lost boys lost boys
So sick
This shit is still insane
These is the only thing that makes me want not to kill myself
INSTANT classic that is...
this was the best 3 minutes ever
Death Grips isn't just a band, it's a lifestyle.
Too dope
This is too fucking awesome!!!
THUGGGGED OUTTTTTTT!
my favorite part is the count in O_O
They gotta release every single album with Zach Hills drumming on it i'm itching for it like a crack fiend
Most inventive drummer ever
