Oh my goodness, I feel like I'm in Jr High, and I accidentally got off the bus at the high school, sat down in a calculus class before realizing it. I can't say I'm totally lost, but do not ask me to replicate what I just watched, hahahaha! Let me watch it again...hold it...what is that over there?? Snapshots From Scratch (Part 1)...bus driver's back to get me, be back in a couple of years...
It can be a bit daunting at first, but, once you get the core concepts, it's a very easy to use piece of gear! Rock on, Scott. P.S. I also give FaceTime and Skype tutorials, if you want to jump start the learning curve? Email me: TheHelixChannel@gmail.com
Hey Scott, I have what may be a dumb question... Not sure :) I had presets with routes in them before snapshots, and when I switched them to snapshots I removed the routes and bypassed what I needed instead. So everything is in 1A and 2A, just bypassed (or not accordingly). Are there any benefits to keeping routes in as you have? Or is it just a preference thing where either approach effectively does the same thing? Happy Birthday!
I can't really say what speaker is "best", I can only tell you what I've tried...I took the Helix to my local Guitar Center and tried it through all of their powered speakers...Alto, Yamaha, QSC, JBL, Mackie. I needed to stay under $500, and I found the one I liked most was the JBL Eon 612. The only speaker I really liked more was the QSC K12, and K10...I think the speaker size matters a lot. The QSC K10 had a less boomy bottom-end than the rest...you can always EQ that away, and I do it it quite a lot! I EQ for a few reasons, first, to level off the bottom, mids, and highs, so that none are brazenly out front compared to the others. Secondly, to remove any annoying highs or boomy bottoms. I also EQ to attempt to match a pre-recorded guitar part, like in my preset packages...I want the guitar to sound as much like the recorded guitar I'm attempting to recreate. I hope that helps. Rock on, Scott.
Happy Birthday

I'm finding the Snapshots do away with a lot of stuff like that, giving you complete presets within presets...much more efficient!
Rock on,
Scott.
hi,what speaker works best with helix for live use?and does speaker size matter?dont know how you got the eq for your patches

so if I understand, your snapshots are already setup once you enter snapshot mode? you just have the chore of renaming them?
