- A video describing all the problems with the twenty-fifth Nancy Drew game. No wonder Nancy doesn't spend time at home in this series!
The little Arglefumph logo animation, at the start of this video, was made by Serge Hanna.

bess whispering "i love ice cream" may just be the most genuinely funny thing to come out of the newer ND games
“Why is there a close-up of this wheel?” made me laugh so hard. It’s so true
"Nancy has a chocolate problem" Um...did we forget when Krolmeister gave her a lifetime supply of chocolate for solving Trail of the Twister?
Not to mention, wouldn't Carson Drew potential handling of Nancy's case would be considered a conflict of interest and unethical?
That's true about the lifetime supply, but I think that might have been a nod to Renee having a "chocolate problem" in Everything Wrong With CRY.
I think relatives can act as their representation. But not jury.
Its also that Krolmeister plays a good role in Nancy stuff...
@@froilanjosephpaz4941 So is Krolmeister really Nancy's Uncle or was that just A cover story for Trail of The Twister?
@@123Yellowberry123 I have always wondered if Krolemister really is Nancy's Uncle or was that just made up for Her in Trail of The Twister?

I can believe that she can. She was forced to dial 10 didget phone numbers for over TWENTY GAMES. It would be a sin for her NOT to have those numbers down packed.
Ag Jr I agree! I actually had all the recurring characters' phone numbers memorized when I was a kid, not because I consciously made an effort to memorize them, but because I played the games so much and had to manually dial phone number for all of them that were out at the time 😂
I've memorized Bess’s phone number because I've replayed the earlier games (from before Nancy had a cellphone) so many times.
Here’s one more;
We never see Ned in this game
I mean, would you want to? I'd take the Hardy Boys over him any day xD
I know it is pretty randomly asking but does anybody know of a good place to watch newly released tv shows online?
@Joseph Zayd Flixportal xD
@Nicholas Ethan thanks, signed up and it seems like a nice service :D I really appreciate it!
@Joseph Zayd No problem =)
Some speculate that Nancy either put her magnifying glass or the "How to Be a Detective" book in the time capsule.
Nah, I think she put her Koko Kringles in it.
actually its pretty obvious that the How to Be A Detective book is now gone at the following games.
yeah i think it's been widely accepted that it's the "how to be a detective" book
I thought she put that little medallion from the Clues Challenge in there.
@@HSAIntrovert I wonder if Koko Kringle is supposed to be Her Interactive mocking Cadbury?
28. It's called house sitting. An empty house is a huge target for a break in.
I’m glad I’m not the only who thought everybody was wayyyy mean. Like, I get that they thought Nancy committed this crime, but why be like that to Ned, Bess, and George too? Pretty funny though.
I like how they reference Secret of the Old Clock but don't try to cover up the fact it was Nancy who found the will. They could have handwaved it by saying Nancy was named after her grandmother. Sure, it's not the best explanation but it is an explanation.
The one thing that infuriated me was that the town thought she was guilty, even though she’s lived there since she was born.
#25... But, Michael, don't we ALL have Ned and George's numbers memorized as players for over 10 years? The early games had you manually dial these numbers to call for hints. I literally do have those two numbers memorized! (Plus, their numbers spell out HELP and CLUE on the phone keypad.)
#26... Yes, it does matter what friend to play as. Bess doesn't have the ability to get Alexei's alibi, only Bess can sweet talk with Toni, and only Ned can extract information from Deirdre... but 100% agree George is useless.
#88... Could also mean Toni's sister married a Bennington
"It won't open" just doesn't have the same ring as "It's locked!"
Conclusion: Everyone in Nancy's hometown is a jerk who turn on each other with the slightest provocation, and are more than happy to ruin someone's life to take the easy was out
Michael's right, this *is* why Nancy never stays home for long
Extra sins: 1). How is Nancy able to receive a care package from Hannah? She's in jail, not summer camp or boarding school. I doubt the police would have even accepted it from Hannah to begin with. 2). Brenda's "reasoning" to the other characters as to why Nancy is guilty ("Then why is she in jail????") is extremely illogical, ignorant, and childish. It sounds more like something Dierdre would say. 3). Why do Brenda and her alleged cameraman (who we never see) leave the van in front of Alexei's shop when they follow up on tips instead of using to get to where the tips were reported? How do they get there? Wouldn't they want to drive to get to the story as quickly as possible? And how do they carry all their equipment with them? It all seems so unnecessary when everything is right there in the van, especially because you'd assume they want to get to their destination as quickly as possible. 4). And, lastly, why is Togo at George's house with George's mom if George is at Nancy's house? It would be a lot easier for everyone and a lot less stressful for the dog if they let him stay in his own home, which he's used to. He's probably scared enough without Carson, Nancy, or Hannah there with him.
My explanation for why Togo isn't at Nancy's house and why Ned doesn't physically appear in this game: the animation department didn't get high enough of a budget.
It could be because George can (depending on how you play) step out of the house a lot to help Nancy with the case. However, that just raises the question of why George is house-sitting when she could be constantly leaving. That's an extra extra sin.
Regarding why Brenda doesn't use the van to follow up on tips "as quickly as possible", recall that the game claims River Heights has really bad traffic. Therefore, using her van would _not_ get her places as quickly as possible compared to the tunnels she's been using.
(Which means the real question is, why would she EVER use the van? I can't imagine there ever being a time when a reporter _wouldn't_ want to get to the site of a breaking story as quickly as possible, and if the tunnels get her places faster than the van...)
Deirdre has a straw in her milkshake but takes a drink by putting her lips directly on the cup when she speaks with Ned about jogging.
As a former news employee, having broadcasts at 11 is very common, but it’s the later time slot. There are usually 2 throughout the night. Also there had to be a tape (or in modern days someone having it set to play on their computer) because only the intro and outro of the story is live. Everything else has been edited.
Just the right time to relax after a grueling work day! :D
NED IS HOMELESS?!?!
Actually, in the books, Ned lives in a different town- i forget where- so that's probably the case here too. i think it might be mentioned in Silent Spy.
He lives in mapleton. It's a town or two over from river heights
@@abbylynne1371 This is even mentioned in-game.
The note was in a bag cause it was raining that day according to Deirdre, not to hide fingerprints :)
YYYYAAAAAASSSSSS I always get excited when I see these
irifrjiwfijriffr ggujb you get me!!
I have been haunted by this question since I first played this game. So Alexei’s life was ruined when he was 20 and the whole Bennington-magnifying glass thing went down, right? And Carson Drew was his prosecutor so Carson must have been at least 25 then to have finished law school. But the time capsule has been sealed for 50 years, right? So is Carson like a 75-year-old with an 18-year old daughter? I’m so confused by how this timeline is supposed to work. I know characters don’t really age in the games but come on, surely they could’ve made a less egregious math error within this one game. Am I wrong about this? Am I missing something?
How do you know he was 25 then, though?
Alec Nickell I don’t know for sure that he was 25, but if Carson was prosecuting the case, he must have finished both undergrad (typically 4 years) and law school (3), putting him at about that age if he started college at 18.
Regardless of Carson’s exact age, he was old enough to be practicing law fifty years ago, which is ridiculous given Nancy’s age.
This is a good question. On the bright side, though, his voice makes it sound like he's quite a bit younger than 75. I don't think HeR went through the math beforehand.
Someone finally admits that the River Heights characters are unbearable! Toni is a snake, Brenda is a straight up *bleeps*, Alexei is aggressive, and Chief McGinnis is stubborn. Deidre is the one who is lowkey tolerable to me. Despite Midnight in Salem being the worst installment, Deirdre slowly grew on me in there.
Alexei is kind of an aggressive jerk, but I can at least understand why. I mean, if you were sent to prison on false charges and your girlfriend left you wouldn’t you be at least a little bit upset? As for the others, they have no excuse. They’re all annoying at best and malicious at worst.
@@avalasialove At least Alexie is Funny
@@avalasialove Chief Mcguiness looks like Tom Selleck
@@jackgarrison8497 Plus, he’s really only a jerk to people who deserve it (besides Bess).
@@avalasialove True I don't think that Ned and George deserve to be treated that way Bess doesn't either but I can't Say The same thing about Nancy Drew Herself at least in The Games She has done some pretty awful things for Someone Who supposed to be A Great Heroine for Girls and Men to look up to like constantly asking poor Pa where's Ma when Nancy know from The Article in Scott's Office that Ma is Dead and even though They were morning Her Death She can keep asking all of The Characters in Shadow at The Water's Edge about Kausmi's death even though They keep telling Her and asking Her and Yelling at Her to stop
5: The doorknob was jammed since the it's the old Town Hall and maintenance of it would unlikely. The captive motive was to frame Nancy not to kill her. Nancy being stuck there was simply bad luck. Besides if the door was really locked. Nancy would have said the traditional "It's locked."
Did I see a cheese flavoured ice cream?
Yes, yes you did...and it wasn't great.
I bet XD
Gross 🤢
like based on the so called wickford candy even? (hey they have ice cream for oreos and nestle chocolates I wouldn't be surprised if they made an ice cream out of a wickford candy bar)
"Cheese is not ice cream."
The note says setting: storage room because the location you have to go to is the storage room. It's 'set' in the storage room.
Brenda, a suspect in the arson is allowed to report on the arson. That's conflict of interest
Toni’s brother-in-law could be her sister’s husband. Just saying ;D
Supported by the fact that Toni's last name isn't Bennington, which it most likely would be if she was married to a man with that name
Totally agreed about Brenda's hair! Like, what look is she going for?
And wow, yes, everyone is a jerk except Nancy and her friends! Sheesh!
When you zoomed out and showed us the map view, all I could think of was The Sims. It looks just like neighborhood mode lol
And yes, what is in the time capsule? I have no idea!
"River Heights is full of fickle jerks" made me laaaugh. Lmao my town asf tho
there actually is a trick to the numbers game. hit each number in order for three rounds. then the next round the timer will stop one second before the high score.
One of the best parts about catching up with the Nancy Drew series is getting to watch another "Everything Wrong with" video
I was chromecasting the mega marathon TRT video, but I got this notification and had to watch right away! 🔍
15: what else is new
16: isn't she always?
34: uh no he's supposed to be in college so he must live in a dorm or a frat or whatever
81: and Dierdre Shannon the Nancy Drew wanna be
183: there's a popular theory that states that she put the "How To be a Detective" book in there
After thinking about it, I’m positive Nancy put her magnifying glass in the time capsule, the reasons being
1. The last thing in the time capsule was a magnifying glass, so she wants to keep the theme going.
2. She has a new magnifying glass in the next game!
3. I don’t think the big How To Be A Detective book could fit in that little box shown on the screen
I'm glad someone else was annoyed by Brenda's hair LOL
Crowley's will was found 81 years before this, not 75.
I couldn't be bothered to do the math, so I covered my bases with "over 75 years ago". It's a lazy detective trick.
@@arglefumph As far as I know of You only wear an Orange Jumpsuit in Prison not Jail
Thanks for still making this series!
Wait everyone IS a jerk...wow. Alexi is my favorite character but he's also the most intimidating somehow...
Everyone is a jerk? Just wait till you get to labyrinth of lies
nancy has circular hair???? lmao i think you mean curly/wavy
This was my morning treat! Thank you.
I didn't even know you could play as George 😂😂😂😂
I thought only George could make alexi leave the the room
Yay, #57! That has bothered me ever since the first time I played this game. Love this series, so hilarious, keep it up!
I really enjoy these videos, they’re super fun! Besides just general enjoyment, I’m interested to see what optional plot lines I missed out on. I just played this game and Bess didn’t knock over a vase, never saw the nugget at Nancy’s house, and a lot of the dialogue in this video, like Alexei with his, the answer is Yes nonsense, Deirdre with her United States of America stuff...even though this game isn’t that good, it always makes me want to play it again bc I feel like the decision on who you play as changes the game a lot! Just subtly, in confusing ways lol
Not only do I find these hysterical XD but I they also gives me things to look out for with my own projects :) which in turn might get turned into games as well :D
I think nancy put in her "How To Be a Detective" book. Since it's missing from the end when she's at her desk.
Everyone is a jerk!
Edit: YAY both of mine were said.
Mabel Rose’s is apparently an auto mechanic franchise. I think it was in Twister when Chase gives Nancy the estimate from the mechanic that it says Mabel Rose’s at the top.
This is way different than what I thought it originally was, which was a ballet studio.
You asked why he didn't say Toni's husband is a Bennington if her brother-in-law is. That's fairly easy. Her husband's sister could be married to a Bennington, thus her husband wouldn't be one but her brother-in-law would be. Alternatively, her own sister could be married to a Bennington.
I never understood why bubblegum pieces were incorporated as an ingredient in ice cream, when gum is only meant to be chewed then spit out. Why not just make bubblegum-flavored ice cream??? At least it would be edible....
That's a good point. I always just thought those colored pieces in the ice cream were bubble-gum jelly beans or something.
InkHeart17 Nope, it specifically said bubblegum PIECES
Um, have you never heard of Blow Pops? They're suckers with gum in the center. You eat suckers. Why is it any different? It's nice to have something to chew on ones the edible stuff is gone.
@@InkHeart17 Yuck Jellybeans 🤢
She put her how to a detective book in the box. It’s kinda obvious. Since it’s not on her desk anymore plus Alibi in Ashes is the last game with the tutorial (we don’t even see the book in Shattered Medallion)
That's what I thought at first, but the book is gone for the entire mystery. It should still be there after the tutorial.
123Yellowberry123 Nancy most likely put it somewhere in case she won. And by in case, i mean for when she won. Because it’s Nancy. If she travel to the 1930’s, then she can predict the future
@@mikeyann2493 Most People think that might have been A Dream for Game 12 that Nancy feel asleep on The Plane or since in The Silent Spy Nancy does have A Dollhouse that has The exact same House and Car so People also think that Nancy might have just made The whole thing up when She was A Kid
I have beat this game multiple times without Bess going to the antique shop. I honestly had no idea I could play as George. Poor George.
I don't know why "Is Ned homeless?" made me laugh so hard
There are some "sins" that made sense, however… there are some that are just TOO nitpicky and opinionated, like Brenda's hair and Alexei's long legs.
What’s the fun in making these videos if you can’t be a little bit picky and opinionated every once in a while?
What did Nancy put in the time capsule? A copy of Sassy Detective, of course. (Or a Koko Kringle bar!)
180. To be fair, Hannah is out of town.
184. The total number of problems is 185, but you only listed 183 problems.
Answer to #142 (15:00): Because it'd be entertaining!!! XD
7:54 Josiah Crowley’s will was found in Titusville, not River Heights?? Lol
7:08 nice ouran high school host club reference
7:55 Old Man Crowley's will was found in Titusville, not River Heights?
in the book it was river hights
The bit about Deirdre drinking the milk shake after saying she's super heathy I have a literally thought that since the first time I played the game
Honor Weber I'm pretty sure that was purposely done to be ironic
@@happinesss2 Well it's Hilarious either way
9:15 (or #88) This confused me at first too, but I think the only explanation would be that Toni has a sister who married a Bennington.
9:57 How does the cover art not show that Nancy is 5'7"? That looks right to me
Her nose is at 5'3". I'd put her at 5'5", 5'6" max
I'd like to add how was the reporter and camera man there and did not make this look suspicous
Lol these are funny
For #23 my guess is she’s allowed to make as many calls as she wants because the chief that arrested her knows she’s didn’t start the fire, just couldn’t prove it yet.
Just noticed - the chips in the gift basket at the end are the same as from the snack shop at Waverly.
A ad for Nancy Drew games played in the middle of this video
Why do we never get to see Ned?
83. The trick is to window the game screen, then click outside of the window to pause the game to give yourself time to find the numbers.
23. You are not necessarily entitled to a phone call, although police are often perfectly happy to give them because people often incriminate themselves over the phone. In most jurisdictions, phone calls are privileges. The police can let you make many (if you're nice and cooperative) all the way down to none (if you're being a jerk). However, you do have the right to call your attorney at any time-and the police more or less have to let you call that person enough times to get in touch and make sure that they're on their way.
45. Nah, River Heights is probably like Hawkins, Indiana. Small police force for a small town where serious shit like this happens only maybe once a decade.
The machine used to determine accelerants at the police station is a mass spectrometer, not a gas chromatograph
If u look close enough you’ll notice that the how to be a detective book is gone so that’s what she put inside the time capsule
20. Or there could be multiple police officers. Nancy is being charge with arson of property of a landmark (Town Hall) which is a felony. People with felonies are considered dangerous and require more than one police officer to detain the charged person.
The first. The "first" starts in this room.....
Maybe it was Nancy in a past life who discovered it? (8:00)
Or an ancestor she was named after
@@elsie8757 Yes I don't get it either how Nancy has been able to stay 18 since 1930 and it's 2022 and as far as I know of She is still 18
25. Why is it wrong for someone to memorize her closest best friends and her father's number?
Probably because Nancy normally has those numbers stored on her cell phone, so it's less likely that she would have to think about them enough to remember them off the top of her head. I personally don't have my dad's cell number completely memorized.
26. So someone can play as the characters they like.
Then those people would be disappointed, since each character plays practically identically
@@elsie8757 Yes which feels like a cheap copout by Her Interactive why not just have it being One of Nancy's Friends?
Tonis brother in law could be het sisters husband
Toni's Sister's husband would be her brother-in-law.
It doesn't have to be her husband's/wife's brother.
But nancy Drew 24 doesn't have a fire puzzle

That's not a type that the jammer Brenda throws down ...
23. Wrong. You are allowed to make multiple phone calls. The whole one phone call is a urban myth.
I saw this game on my cousins laptop and i got angry at the people and then I got framed because I was the only one using the laptop. coincidence ?

Actually the police can use evidence that someone else have obtained illegally.
