They were roommates and lived together for long time. When Punk made his "fgc friend tier list" (lol) a while back, he put Nephew in his own category at the top, above "S tier friend" lmao
Brian. Thank you. Although ive already seen the tournament. Your post commentary does nothing but add to what happened. I'm happy you're able to do this. Your knowledge of the game, the players and all the history brings it together. Makes it worth for me to watch even if it isn't live.
Genuinely, the enjoyment I get out of these recaps is immense, love how you put everything into perspective and tell each of the players individual stories. Adds so much drama and weight to what would otherwise be a normal match. Thanks Brian!
This format is great! Even if ive already seen yhe tournament i always learn something interesting through either your match analysis or the extra details you bring in, like coach punk 😁
My goat neph, He really went full pro in street fighter 6 and it really pay off, now it remains to see who else in America manages to go to CPT Just know that now I support that brian gets in now that he is going to Japan in a couple of weeks, good luck and safe travels man🎉
Personally, I really appreciate that Street Fighter has such a deep pool of older talent still competing. People in their mid-forties are still making top 8 in major tournaments against the best in the world, in a genre of competitive gaming that I personally believe is the most intensive in terms of reaction speed and dexterity. It's very encouraging, especially when games like League of Legends comparatively have an average pro player career length of like 4-5 years. I find Daigo making it to top 8 at ECT means that none of us are really down and out even in our 40s, if we stay practiced. When older players win, we all win.
These videos of yours are what slowly got me into playing and loving street fighter with all the storylines and lore inside this community. Theses vids mean alot Brine thanks.
One of my favorite moments from the tournament was seen at 45:56 where we see the North Americans cheering on our sole representative as he makes an amazing comeback from the jaws of defeat.
Not sure if you read comments or not but, been a lurker for awhile and i gotta say i have been really enjoying your content lately! The way you paint the picture of all these recent events as well as previous events makes for a very enjoyable experience! Your passion also keeps me sucked in for these longer videos! Thank you for putting in so much effort on these videos! keep on doing the great work you do for the FGC!! :D
when neph blocked zhen's wake up lvl2 in the last round punk was popping off saying "yeah we studied you, we knew about your random supers" that was crazy lmao the alpha academy was on his ass
Zhen surprised me already in Capcom cup when he got 2nd, they interviewed him and I was expecting the typical social awkward nervous teenager energy similar to endingwalker or something, but he seemed like he was chill and blazed, the dudes a character 😅
I love these summary videos! I end up watching them all ftom start to end even when knowing the results. The extra context and narrative structure make them top youtube content!
They gotta hire you to deliver all of these storylines at tournaments somehow. Your passion for everything in the competitive scene comes through every time with these videos
Congrats to Shuto and Nephew on qualifying for CC11. Awesome of Punk to do that for Nephew. I watched a good chunk of CPT Singapore, but I always enjoy watching your tournament summary videos for your insight on the interactions you highlight. Thank you, Brian. Keep up the awesome uploads!
My ex worked for Google. They were laying a bunch of people off for the past few months so I don't think Nephew didn't take that into consideration. He probably has enough money and no debt not to even worry about it. You can tell Nephew was truly, truly off cuff in this moment. His joy was unbelievable.
That's nearly just my recommended. Also, Abroad in Japan and Premier Two? Glad to see you're doing your research for Japan, whether for etiquette or just where to have fun. Great channels honestly.
great video as always. it might not come up so soon but please if there ever is a grand final and they get into a possible reset situation like here, store the tabs for post reset grand finals in a different tab. here you could kinda guess that nephew was gonna loose but it would be so cool to think that again, seeing just one more tab in a 2-2 potential reset situation just for you to pull up another window alltogether with the rest of grand finals. would be so cool.
Big props to Neph for making the full time commitment and the hard work paying off. Entirely Based move to leave a toxic company like Google for the freedom of getting to do what you love.
Having personally attended CPT for the first time, it was absolutely daunting to see how absurdly stacked this tourney was! I was instantly destroyed by Xian since I was in the same pool as him. It made me even more humble knowing that I gotta keep improving.
Shuto was flawless. Took apart everyone. When the Japanese Akumas fell to Asian Bisons he bodied everyone. He had the match up knowledge the others didnt.
I'm still amazed that Sako got hit by that DR overhead. No one falls for this in ranked anymore, I changed to a manually timed crLK > stMP > crMP to clip people walking backward and having a better blockstring if they parry. I find it funny how at high level the innate respect you have that people won't go for dumb shit actually makes dumb shit viable sometimes. lmao
Much respect to all the champs and players. With that said, how do we feel about mid-set coaching on the phone? To me it cheapens with mind games and adaptation but I know it’s common in games like tekken.
More randomness and chaos brings in more variance, more variance is better if you're looking to upset someone :) Edit high risk high reward brings in more variance
So cool that Nephew and Punk are good friends and both are two of only six people currently qualified to Capcom Cup. Imagine seeing them face off in Grand Finals for the million...just don't make any agreement public #collusion
Is it actually confirmed that Punk was coaching Nephew? I was in the CPT and the staff for our pool (and im assuming the rest as well) did say straight up on the first day that coaching was not allowed.
congrats on getting engaged Sajam!
im in tears
🤣
🤣
Sajam got swole real quick
Dumb and overused "joke".
Punk being the angel on his shoulder is awesome haha
did not see that coming
Great vid!!
That's some "I'm the only one allowed to beat you" Vegeta ass energy lmfao
They were roommates and lived together for long time. When Punk made his "fgc friend tier list" (lol) a while back, he put Nephew in his own category at the top, above "S tier friend" lmao
Another upload from my favorite DNF Duel Grappler Main? LETS GO!!!!!!
Everyone except like 7 people will know what this means
Time to bring back the dnf duel content
HOOWEEE that is a throwback
i'm so glad we still haven't forgot about his non-Mahvel kusoge ventures
The game isn't a kusoge tho@@whizthesugoi
@47:23 everyone's Nephew's impression is always spot on 😂
I can confirm, having long hair improves your Ed gameplay, im bald so i had to drop Ed or keep losing
bring back long hair Brian
Long hair dude over here. Never played Ed and ended up in Plat 2 after my placement matches 😅.
@@vergils.lawnchair its a genetics thing, we cant really go against nature

Brian. Thank you. Although ive already seen the tournament. Your post commentary does nothing but add to what happened. I'm happy you're able to do this. Your knowledge of the game, the players and all the history brings it together. Makes it worth for me to watch even if it isn't live.
I really respect the time that must have gone into making this video, it definitely makes the ride that much more exciting.
Seriously appreciate the tournament roundups you have been doing. Keep up the good work Brian!
thanks for these videos, love how much context you bring to the journey those players went on the tournament

Nephew in the GF being the only US representative in a stacked Asian tournament like that is crazy. Nephew is insane what a run he had
My goat neph, He really went full pro in street fighter 6 and it really pay off, now it remains to see who else in America manages to go to CPT
Just know that now I support that brian gets in now that he is going to Japan in a couple of weeks, good luck and safe travels man🎉
Dual Kevin?
Man this dude is a technician in this video, you literally have all the tabs preloaded and ready to talk over. Can only imagine how long that took

When older players win, we all win.
There's no soul or substance to a game like league of legends, people get into it for the bucks then leave as soon as possible
These videos of yours are what slowly got me into playing and loving street fighter with all the storylines and lore inside this community. Theses vids mean alot Brine thanks.
Memes aside, this is my go-to place for CPT news, really well edited and informative videos my man.
One of my favorite moments from the tournament was seen at 45:56 where we see the North Americans cheering on our sole representative as he makes an amazing comeback from the jaws of defeat.
Love hearing the history between two players. Especially as someone who wasn't involved in the scene during SFV

Can confirm I was in that stream shit was so hype
These videos are so good. I just cant keep track of these things live so these recaps with mini history lessons are awesome. Thanks B.
Two things that shocked me. Zhen sounded like that and him also listening to Yung Lean 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🔥🔥🔥 Zhen def has homie vibes
Fr, he's chill like that. If I remember correctly, during RB Kumite South Africa he said he likes hip-hop and MF Doom.
zhens youtube channel is fire too lmao

Japan’s Ed players probably studying other matchups only for them to get beat by EndingWalker’s Ed, you know they got a file on him now
Another GOATED recap, thanks for taking the time to put it all together Brian!

Brian I so appreciate these breakdowns! I can’t imagine how much work they are! You are a pillar of the FGC❤

These tournament recaps are the best. It’s like drive to survive but for street fighter. I can’t get enough
Congrats to Shuto and Nephew on qualifying for CC11. Awesome of Punk to do that for Nephew.

I can confirm that that Nephew's impression was more than accurate.
I personally don't mind coaching as long as it's non invasive and doesn't halt the gameplay drastically.
Huge congratulations to Big Neph.
Thanks for the vid Brian

the thumbnail of this video changed while I was in the middle of watching it and it confused me for a second lol

Gratz for the chess content!
I choose to believe that some of that phone time was texting the Juri cosplayer.
Thanks for the recap! Is coaching allowed though? I thought that was illegal. They might have to ban cell phones during matches.
