@@Inventor_AW the aux is the input to the tape head preamp. a separate power switch for the radio and tape mode of the cassette player, while the cassette tape tray is always on the play position. a noise is cause by poor wire signal grounding and the filters used by the power supply. so in this case a battery is suitable for the project to eliminate that noise.

you may connect directly the wires without the tape heads, or to its auxiliary.
