- Palestinian doctor and five-time Nobel Peace Prize nominee, Izzeldin Abuelaish, has experienced immense personal tragedy. In January 2009, an Israeli tank shell hit his home killing his three daughters and one of his nieces and in October this year, 22 members of his extended family were killed in Jabaliya refugee camp by an Israeli airstrike. Dr Abuelaish speaks to the Guardian about how his personal loss has made him determined to push for peace.

I cried the first time I have seen this man getting interviewed by an incompetent “journalist”. Incredible the guardian gave him an opportunity to tell his story without interruption.

Where were the Hamas terrorists in Al-Shifa? They bombed the hospital, killing dozens of people, under the basis that there were Hamas operatives and weaponry hidden in the hospital, and yet have failed to show any evidence for this?
And are the Hamas terrorists hiding in the West Bank as well? Else why would there still be civilian deaths there?
@@amitmeiri6066 Collective punishment and displacing people is all illegal under international law and Israel’s own study concluded 61% of deaths as a proportion of total deaths in Gaza are civilians which means more civilians are being killed in direct violation of the collective punishment principle. Not only that they are using white phosphorus which is also illegal under international law. The ludicrously of the statements being made by Israeli is being witnessed by the whole world. We know the US has a double standard when interpreting international law so don’t try and justify this and claim moral superiority because numbers are facts and fact is almost 20,000 are now dead.

A girl that survived the bombings of northern gaza was murdered in the bombing of AI Nasser hospital recently.. She died twice, the first time when her family members died in the north and now when she herself died.. in a hospital bombing, being treated from the previous bombing that took her family away. Her name was Donya Abu Mohsen... If you still support this, there's no saving you.. or humanity for that matter.
You forget to mention she had her leg amputated because of first bombing..(most likely without anesthesia because of shortage of medicines in gaza)..she endured all that pain of losing her leg her house and her family only to be murdered again

He recieved an honorary PhD of Laws at Toronto Metropolitan Univeristy this year, it was during my graduation ceremony so I was attending. His speech was touching and received a standing ovation. I was happy he was able to speak about the Palestinian struggle and for the fact he wore a Palestinian flag scarf given to him by a Palestinian graduate for the entire ceremony on stage, which is huge during a time where everyone was afraid (just after October 7).
With all due respect to the great man in this video, it's not the oppressed responsibility to avoid hate. Most Palestinians HATE their genociders and it is within their human and moral rights to do so until the oppression is lifted from their shoulders.
Frankly, these people are totally within their rights to hate their oppressors.

I remember his story vividly. I am no expert in foreign policy, but I believe with so much that has gone on, A ONE STATE solution, with Israelis and Palestinians living side by side under EQUAL RIGHTS needs to be the solution. The difference between Israelis and Palestinians is glaringly obvious on social media. I feel humbled by their calm dignity and courage. Whereas Israeli govt spokespeople, leaders and most civilians interviewed come across as desperate and insecure. Despite the atrocities that Palestinians suffer very single day, they have much dignity and grace. The Palestinians character comes across loud and clear. Even after 75 years of occupation and persecution, and a reduction of their freedoms (the right to vote, safety, religion, travel) and constant imprisonment, their dignity is intact and their truth shines. Psychologically speaking, people who are in touch with their authenticity are calmer, whereas people who are pretending to be someone they aren’t are always anxious. Lying loudly doesnt make something more true or less true.
Regular Isr. civilians make tiktoks mocking Palestinians' living conditions and spread falsities. While Palestinians educate people on their history of oppression.

He was born a refugee in his land (the occupied Palestine). His family was killed in 2009. He is one of the many thousands of Palestinians who lost their beloved ones and lost their homes since 1948. I am against killing any innocent civilians from any ethnicity or religion, but what the Israeli have faced on 7th October, the Palestinians were facing for years, the difference is that the world did not do anything to end their suffering, the humiliation, the illegal occupation and the injustice. We can see how Palestinians believe in their rights to return to their lands, we can see that those inside the occupied Palestine will never leave Palestine. I can’t believe the amount of faith and strength these people have and how much they love their land.
