Start slow and light. The goal is to aim for the final pose while feeling the stretch. Not the actual pose. Consistency is key. Within a week, youll find that getting on the bike is no longer an excersize. You may not be able to get tho the final pose, but you will find that your daily activities ane not as difficult as they once were.

Having had a long day on the bike yesterday, this is kind of handy. Except that it doesn't really solve the main problem I have, which is that my knees lock up when I don't move them for an hour at a time, and that I can't stretch them in place without slowing down (not happening!) or forcing them against high speed airflow.
I know that the best way of doing things is to avoid riding around the M25 and make sure I've got plenty of time to stop and stretch and still arrive on time, but that's not always feasible.
I have, however, found that flexing and stretching my back and shoulders while riding works fairly well to avoid being locked into position.
Of course, the best way of taking care of your knees as a biker is not to drop a heavy bike on them.

6 hours on a dr650 will definately wear on you. Especially with the factory torture device of a “seat”. The mods available for that platform make those trips alot more bearable, i still enjoy it even tho in some aspects it sucks. Im just hard headed and love riding so much i embrace the suck. Its worth it tho, i actually look forward to it when i can ride it to work as thats originally what i got it for in the first place. Is the only time i get a chance to ride these days.

As someone who enjoys stretching more than a traditional workout, that seated figure 4 just unlocked my hips that I thought were frozen from a previous injury! The figure 4 plus all the other stretches in this really do work well, even for someone who doesn't ride... yet (Sorry F9. Soon... Soon...).

I’ve always stretched while riding my bike on 500 mile trips , every 130-40 miles I stop, refuel bike and go for a coffee followed by a
15 minute walk , always worked for me , wakes me up as as well.

I ridden off a cliff on a quad, I came within 6 inches of a head on with a Mack truck and I shattered both legs, broke my knee and shoulder in a fight with a mini van. Add in 35 years of riding and I’ve said to myself many many times that I don’t know what could ever make me stop riding. Well, I suppose if I was ever forced to do Yoga that could make me stop riding.

A better thumbnail would have been you in the fully squatted position with your arms out front, which is great for the sciatic nerve, and also resembles the riding position.
