Hello! Diana performed a song to the music of Eduard Artemyev. He died 2022.12.29. The “Nick” figurine was presented to his grandson. During the speech, photographs of film industry workers who have died over the past two years were shown on the screen. The audience stood to honor their memory. Diana was great. Her performance deepened the sense of grief over the loss of friends and colleagues. This is only information, and everything else is emotions about Diana’s enormous talent.
The NIKA award ceremony is equivalent toi the Oscars.
Everything about this performance - including the conduct of the audience - is a class act.
No one else performed at the ceremony, and it was a great honour for Diana to be invited.
Part of the pressure upon her is that the performance is in some ways an audition: she has been saying recently in public that her ambition is to be cast as the leading actress in a film.
Her performance of the song - a composition by Eduard Artemyev, who having died in 2022 is among those being honoured - is an absolute masterpiece.

I appreciate how Diana in beginning stares off the too-long staying self-important unnecesary trio including by then the introducing host, for failing to realise the solemn gravity of the need for an otherwise vacant stage necessary for the aesthetic of an audio-visual cinematic requiem - as Diana does. All she does is look at them with no uncertainty - and when they realise they go.
