I've been on 100% disability for 23 years due to severe depression, it's often hard to hang in there but every time any of you freeride or slopestyle riders post a new video on RUclips I feel this instant glee and I sit down with a good beverage and forget everything till the video is over, I am so grateful for all of you! You literally help take pain away! :)
Emil has remained incredibly down-to-earth for his successes and victories at Crankworx. The interview is just perfect. You are both very good bike riders and I wish you guys more success. PS: Please restock the old Get Sendy Hoodie, I need to have one🙏
Max looks pretty resignated as he says: "Now to learn a new trick, it takes months and months and months - if not even years!" Emil seems to get really excited, smiles and says to himself: "I'm hyped!"
Max , you can do a podcast with all the riders in the world to Show how there mindset is and how they Feel about all the competitions living as a bike Rider. It would be sooo nice to See That 🙏
what i would give to pick your brain. you guys talked about what do you do once you get bored and youre at the top and progression is hard, you talked about how it was easier back then to learn stuff like when you said you learned 5 tricks in one day and you were super pumped on that and now it takes you months or years, i feel the same way in my riding (not even remotely close to your level) but when i get bored i find that teaching someone gives me the same satisfaction as when i learned things myself, even something as basic as like a tuck, helping someone else go from "thats impossible i cant do that" to "wow i cant believe im actually doing this now" is just as much if not more rewarding, when you talked about the people you looked up to, it made me think of when i was a kid riding in my local park and seeing all the older guys and i remember thinking "man theyre so cool i wanna be just like those dudes" and now that im older its my job to be the dude in the park showing the younger generation what i learned and how to do it, i get stoked when a kid on a bike comes up to me and asks me for help because now i get to be the person i looked up to when i was a kid, and like you said the money and trophies are gonna fade, but the inspiration will continue on for generations because the kid you helped will grow up and help another kid and that cycle will repeat. Thank you for doing what you do Max, weather you realize or not, you do inspire many people including me, im a massive fan and this video is something i can relate to, because the things you guys do are out of this world
Great interview! It could have been twice as long and it still would have flown by. I love all of you slopestyle competitors. You all seem to have your hearts in the right place. It must have to do with what it takes to be on that stage. At 22 Emil already sounds like a sage. I love that he said he would want to be a surfer, and see parallels to slopestyle. You talked about how each jump of every slopestyle course is different. Well, there are no two waves alike. I'm wishfully looking forward to you interviewing the rest of the boys in due time!
Looooove these episodes! It would be fun to watch if you did more of them with like lemoine, fedko and other international riders while you are in lockdown! 😍 best of luck to you and emil in the training and contest, be safe and most important have fun! 🤌🏼
No matter what the sport, those who were the forerunners, the pioneers they will always be remembered. Those who push the sport forward will be equally remembered. You asked is there room for improvement in [our] sport. Let’s put that into context, mountain biking as we know it today didn’t exist 30 years ago. Now you have a host of disciplines, enduro, downhill, cross country, freestyle. Kids are getting on bikes at such a young age, doing all kinds of crazy shit because they watch guys like you and Emil doing crazy ass shit and they’re all I wanna do that, I wanna be like them. That’s how the sport progresses. I saw a 6 year old the other day do a front flip and nail it. It blew me away! I was thinking OMFG!!! What’s this kid gonna do 6 years from now? Will he be the next Emil? I’ve been following you for quite a few years now, back when you had like 8K subscribers. What did I learn from you,? don’t give up. If,you want it you gotta earn it, you gotta work for it, keep, trying til you get it. I also learned to let people who have the proper tools work on my bike. I’m sorry, but if you owned a bike shop I’d go to the other guy🤣 Great vide Max! Stay sane. Cheers👊
This was good. I’d say being skater would result in less injuries than a pro Slopestyle or BMX Rider. They don’t gotta worry about their vehicle hurting them as much.
I hope you delete your search history as you are in quarantine LOL joking aside a 44 minute chat with Emil isn’t long enough Probably could chat for hours LOL
Thanks for having me, good talk!
Hope everyone enjoys the video 👊
Yeah we enjoy the video
hell yeah mate! enjoyed!
Emil you’re such a nice guy wish u all the best luck in future contests 🤝❤️🔥🔥
