  • Full story: indianapublicmedia.org/news/af... Homeschooling has traditionally been for white families who keep their kids home for religious or spiritual reasons.
But that’s changing - about a third of home-schooled students now are minorities and their numbers are rising. But it’s not necessarily for religious reasons; many parents choose to home school to keep their children safe.

I was a teacher in public school, so when I had my children it was very hard to know that I would be sending them to a one sided education. To homeschool I too needed to be unschooled so I could truly see how indoctrinated I was. I absolutely feel that more African Americans school homeschool! If anything, we should be the leading group of families homeschooling. This western education simply erases so much from who we are.
    Great interview

“Before they were even married” was not needed! I hate the way they told her amazing story! They said we are doing it to keep our kids safe when we do it for so much more
