I had to cut a lot of people out of my life and it hurt because they were my own family. I have found that if my presence doesn't make you happy my absence won't bother you either. Trust me when I say this. If someone really wanted things to be better they would make the same efforts as you to make it better. If I don’t, I’m just as bad as the people who have caused me pain and I never want to hurt people the way I’ve been hurt. ❤

This is a great example for others who don't want to forgive and overcome the pain that others have caused them because on the other side of forgiveness is love and peace and nobody is perfect it's hard to not want others to be held accountable or to change if they are wrong but she is right being free and being loving and kind to everyone even those who have hurt us is all that matters

Meh. Forgiveness is not a freeing thing for everyone. I’m glad it worked for her. But for others what’s freeing may not be forgiving those who hurt us nor is it being kind to them. At the end of the day what really matters is what feels right for you.

@@terrawilkins1801forgiveness is NOT necessary for everyone. This is such a bs forced idea that’s pushed on to people and actually can create further harm. For some people not forgiving allows healing and allows them the opportunity to know that they didn’t allow those who caused them harm to just get away with it. This bs idea that we should all just forgive and that if you don’t you are some bitter grudge having individual is nasty. I’ve have not forgiven a lot of people in my life and it brings me peace so who are you or anyone else to try and dictate what can and cannot bring peace to other people?
not forgiving allows people to understand their boundaries and the consequences of when people over step them. Not forgiving people grants people the opportunity to have a firm resolve and shows a deep amount of self respect.
on a broader scale, not forgiving can help remove those who cause harm and make it clear to others what is and isn’t acceptable. Would be forgive people who commit mass murder, commit SA, etc? No, and that’s because there is unforgivable actions that nobody to be guilted into forgiving.
      not forgiving has these components.
      1. acknowledgment*
      2. understanding* of how the harmful action affected you.
      3. Self respect* demonstrating that boundaries are not to be crossed and that once somebody wrong you that can and will lose access to you and will not be given the privilege of being forgivin.
      4. Maturity* growing and better understanding what you deserve and demanding better from others in the future.
      5. Removal* removing that harmful and toxic from your life so that you can prosper.
Forgiveness is a choice and those who choose not to do it are not lacking anything that those who choose to do it have. Internal peace and well being is not determined on whether you forgave or not. It’s determined based on what felt best for you.

    • @KimmyLL1890
      @KimmyLL1890 2 месяца назад

@@terrawilkins1801also to add. Not forgiving doesn’t mean that someone cannot move on. It’s very easy to not forgive and go one to live a peaceful and happy life without even thinking about the person who harmed you. Because that’s the thing about not forgiving, you can not forgive and that person can continue to face the consequences of their actions. At the end of the day forgiveness for those who don’t want to forgive only benefits the wrong doer.

@@KimmyLL1890 like I said in my previous comment others may agree to disagree but forgiveness is a vital practice for everyone in this world whether you agree or not
You're demeanor to me screams that you're just not capable of forgiveness to everyone and there's someone you hold resentment towards for what they've done to you and you don't want them to benefit from your forgiveness and I know how that feels but I hope you learn that forgiveness is freeing and vital
To me it's just sad how many people don't understand how freeing it really is to just let go of resentment, spite and pain.
I know because I know how to forgive that forgiveness doesn't have to benefit the wrong doer.. that's the point of not having to be in contact with the person you've forgiven whether it be for safety or whatever it is.. forgiveness is something that happens in ur spirit where you choose to hope that person changes and becomes better you choose to let go of the pain they've caused you and you choose to move on with life hoping only that they change and letting go of what that version of them did to you and they may never change but at least you don't have to hold the experience they caused you in ur spirit you don't have to forget and we all have every right to defend and protect ourselves from wrongdoers but wrongdoers are capable of change as well and it's honestly not about the person you're forgiving it's about seeing outside of that person and what they've done to you and focusing on how it's made you view them and view people in general I know personally that it's not my place to hold any harsh feelings of anybody or to hold onto my past I don't forget what caused it so I can be safe going forward but I just choose to change my outlook on it. That's just me tho to each their own ig 😕

Hi!! I absolutely respect you and your family’s dynamic and trust that the dynamic you talked about works. I just wanted to share my perspective, being a child of an early divorce. I was similarly the “middle man”, communicating between my parents because they couldn’t communicate effectively themselves. They thought it was harmless and I stepped up to the plate; but ultimately, it collapsed me and put so much pressure on little me that I couldn’t tell them the system wasn’t working after so long. Being a child and having the responsibility of two parents is hard. I wish my parents had checked up on me about that more often, and worked to find ways to communicate slowly. But once again, my goal isn’t to project! Just wish the best for you all:)

i love this video so much, my parents were young when they had me. i never saw positivity on holidays. my dad hates every picture that he has of me, him and my mom. they barely communicate. the mutual respect between you and your ex is beautiful and i think that’s amazing for your daughter. i love your channel and i’m so happy you don’t hide this part of your past.

Aw thats sweet....wish my dad was that way when I was younger. He would always talk bad about my mom..I told him to stop and he dident listen...he still does it. But some people don't realize the impact on the child. And im sure it makes your daughter happy.

As a daughter of divorced parents I want to tell that what your are doing is AMAZING. When I was little, even if they were hurt, my parents kept in contact and talked really nicely about each other. I only found out a little bit of what actually happed recently (11 years after it). Divorced families are usually very toxic so I’m extremely greatful that my parents chose to act like adults and provide love and as much stability as they could to me and my brother. Doing this kind of things might be hard for you but you are making the right choice.
Sorry if my English is bad, it’s not my first language and I’m crying a bit while writing this. It’s really rare to see parents putting their disagreements aside and actually care for their children.

My parents are divorced and I remember my mom did something like this for my dad and I was so excited I was so happy handing it to him and was so proud but it was really my mom who helped me do this. You are doing amazing things and make Myla so so happy because she has a supporting family. This video made me my cry and I didn’t really think I was going to do thank you because I needed this cry. ❤

I’ve been co-parenting with my oldest daughter’s dad for 13 years now (she was 2 weeks old when he ended the relationship 😕) and there are highs and lows but we promised to never bad mouth each other in front of her and we have always done “custody” on our own and never through the court. Honestly, as much as I do not like him many times, I’m proud of how well we have co-parented for these 13 years ❤ It’s never easy but if both parties try, it can be done. Having a third party is definitely good for those times that you just don’t want to speak to each other- I never had that but wish in the beginning I had. You are doing a tremendous job 👏🏼

I’m being totally honest… After being married for 14 years and separated for 2 years now. My daughter’s Father would actually deep down like or love it. But especially if it’s pics he’s already seen it may bring him conflicting emotions since we’ve both moved on. His girlfriend he has now wouldn’t appreciate it I’m sure and if our daughter saw all the weird vibes between everyone when he opened it it would be confusing or maybe overwhelming.
She is a teen now and fyi I broke up with my husband, so it would be selfish to jeopardize his new happiness or progress. I mailed him a thank you card this year for Fathers Day that was respectful and loving enough to show my appreciation.

Ive always admired this about you Abby. Youre teach your child how to be mature in certain situations. Shes gonna be an amazing human being when she becomes an adult. She is learning how to do the right thing. That when you have children you have to put some feelings aside. I'm a single mom and I have SO many hard feelings towards my ex. Anyway... 💜💜
