Thanks again for the great content and keep inspiring.
Hello! I just wanted to say I’ve been watching you for a pretty long time now and and really love what you do. You inspired me to get my first nano tank.😄 keep up the amazing work! Your videos make my day !!😃 I enjoy watching them a lot!! Thank you so much 🙏
Thanks for your awesome vids! Wondering if you have or are thinking of doing a video on the different types of acropora you have, their Latin names, and identifiers? Learning so much from you about the types and would be sweet to see them all in one vid.
Sorry to be offtopic but does anybody know a method to log back into an Instagram account?? I was dumb lost the account password. I appreciate any tips you can give me!
@Calvin Sullivan Thanks for your reply. I found the site thru google and im in the hacking process atm. Seems to take a while so I will reply here later with my results.
@@sovereignviper90 Are you SURE? I think most people buy a frag to be in the club, say they have 'that' coral, I think the 'grow it big mentality' has long since passed, or at least been drowned out by the fluo instagram reef tanks
Reef Builders I agree - I was really inspired by that video you did of Ali’s tank where he had just a few corals but grew them to nice size colonies. It just takes patience
Ok wait, was that $199 price tag I saw on the tank, was that the frag price for that? Or the price of the whole flipping colony? Because if that was the later, holy chit that is a reasonable price for a coral so large. I will say though that it doesn't look too big in that huge frag tank, but then again your Immortal Tort looks like regular frags until your hand is next to it. But something like would look nice in my 300g lagoon, unfortunately the only table I have in there is still a 3" frag :D
I haven't gotten into alot of acros/sps yet but was wondering why you didn't acclimate it before putting it in your tank, does the size/age of the coral have anything to do with it? Ive heard people say that its not necessary, but figured I'd ask since I think your more then qualified
I know people would say you need to quarantine all corals but you would need to set up a full display to quarantine that thing. You can't even dip it. Dip would be the wrong word it would need a bath lol.
weight has little bearing on calcium uptake- surface area is the key as most of that 14 lbs is not alive. The equation would be the surface area of the efflo vs the other frags.
Yeah I famously don't really believe corals need acclimation in almost all cases - especially not a short drive from the LFS ruclips.net/video/BYsVOn64B18/видео.html
@@ReefBuildersVideo 143/5000 ho, I find it very interesting, and in relation to the parameters or salinity and temperature, does it affect me? if the temperature were different?
No way man... I used to work at aqua and before I watch this video I know your talking about the massive table acro in the front big cube. Jesus that’s a beautiful piece !! Also I’m the one who bought a bunch of raffle tickets at reefstock and forgot them at home... 🤣🤣 @holy_travioli_reefs on Instagram 🥰✌🏻
Reef Builders yes like maybe February lol I think there are still a few in the flat in the back. Not to mention all the times it’s been dragged before 🤣🤣 that piece is beautiful and I’m going to miss staring everytime I’m in 🥺😅 I might need a tour of the studio eventually just to see it 🤣🤣 plus never seen the studio
Reef Builders actually, contact transmission is very viable for this virus. That’s why hand sanitizer is also a thing that was prominently missing from the video
I thought about it pretty hard, even the dip, but I saw no signs of pests, and a coral doesn't grow this big and healthy when it's got flatworms or red bugs
Yeah I think folks have gone off the deep end when it comes to acclimation - clams, shrimp and shipped fish yes, but just put the damn thing in the aquarium!
"These are all pests-free..... there may be a little bit aptasia here and there..." LOL
Great video Jake.
Can't help but appreciate the patternage and colouration of a large grown out acro colony .
Simply stunning.
Thanks for that 👍

Nano tanks CAN be easy so I'm glad you took the plunge, enjoy
Reef Builders thank you so
much ☺️. Have a great day!
My dream coral! Along with A. humilis, A. spathulata... or any Acro really!! LOL!

I'll see what I can do
Another run and gun video style that we love! Thanks Jake!!
That’s a massive coral! I’m so glad to see it kept whole and not chopped off. Love Aqua Imports it’s a great store

Thank you so much, you saved my ass :D
@Phillip Jaxson No problem :)
Nice! Acro Collection is really coming on!! Can’t wait to see you filling the 400g! ✌🏼
I'm glad I found ur channel. I live in Colorado and I' m planning on starting my first saltwater tank. 55g =D
Rest easy Jake ❤
Whoa! That tabling Acro is the size of an actual table! I have always loved Efflos and this one is amazing!
Yeah it's going to spawn a whole new generation of Efflos all around Denver
So nice to have friends!
Wow what a beautiful coral. Great choice I enjoy your videos. Great job.
I have that exact coral, great color and extremely hardy.
Where can I buy the reef builders shirt that you're wearing? Also where can I visit your studio?😅 or are we not able to visit?
Merci pour ta vidéo Jake !!! 👍👍👍
I noticed you didnt acclimate it, is it because of the size or do you not acclimate if temperature is the same? Thanks
Awesome piece, will be nice to see how it does in your system
Arrr nice old coral, it’s going to be really happy for many more years
awesome ! Good luck with it Jake
Giant colonies like this are so rare in the hobby now since everyone’s selling and buying tiny frags
Main reason frags are so popular is because the buyer wants to achieve the goal of growing a frag to that sized colony lol
The majority of people don’t have the tank size to grow this size colony. The average tank size is only somewhere in the range of 75 to 95 gallons.
@@sovereignviper90 No, They're popular because frags are all that are available.

that thing is a beast
I love how those hex frag plugs mesh together in the rack 👍
Such an amazing coral! Time to bump up the calcium reactor.

If you’re ever in the Bay Area in California, please check out Neptune Aquatics! Amazing coral, equipment and display aquariums! Very innovative
I haven't been there in like 10 years but I remember it always being a hotspot of aquarium livestock
It’s turned into a great one! 👍🏽
Wow! Such a beautiful efflo!
he did not seem overly enthused with what you brought him lol
funny how masks tend to cover up all facial expressions
@@ReefBuildersVideo funny how it doesn't cover tone
Yeah same thing I thought. He didn't sound as excited but maybe is his way. I mean, I wanted him to be at least half as excited as you hehe

fish can be acclimated but corals don't really need it
Nice acro do you plan on fragging it in the near future anytime? 👍
So how much alk, calcium ect does this coral use up?
👏👏👏very very beautiful.... but above all huge😯
I saw you at Murrman’s getting the angle fish and an acro

I thought about it but figured it sloughed off enough on the car ride, probably shook off most buggers
This guy is an ecosistem itself, I mean is a serious thing, amazing!!!!
Great video 👍
Man you got a great deal on that!
That is massive
A great frag! 😂
"Three tiny nubbin frags...not worth worrying about" Send them to me!!!
Well I glued them down, but they're small little shniblets
Wow that thing looks amazing Under the g4 not as nice under the store lights
The Golden Boulder FTW
I would love that single coral in a small nano tank.

Nice heavy coral.

nice piece...
Awesome
love the intro. what song is that?
Jake ,what would u pick as ur top 5 sps corals ,if u had a 120 and only could get 5 sps?
Acropora, Montipora, Stylophora, Pocillopora and Anacropora
Do you sell or are all these your personal collection? Huuuge studio!!!
How old is that coral
Have an updated photo of this badboy?
What's up man I'm definitely gonna need that lol
Seriously tho how much for a good size piece like 3 to 5 inches
let me keep it in once for starters, up for trades when I start to trim it up
Awasome it is so cool
you did not acclimatize it, you put it directly?

it's not a store, it's a studio

Mike's wearing a face mask! And then shakes hands lol
Geez! you can't catch anything through a handshake, we handled this big colony together, and promptly washed up

Jake you traded just those few for that ginormous acro plate?????
that's what he asked for, I'll probably bring hime some more next time I go there
