Me everytime i open a new video of jake; "i will learn nothing new". Me after watching; "i've learned something new...". Great video Jake. Your corals look super healthy.
You have made me take a much more relaxed approach to reefing keeping. Instead of TRYING to mess with things trying to fix to much stuff so now I just let stuff be and enjoy the tanks they never looked better . Great videos Jake
awesome video! can you do a video on acropora? All the different kinds, go threw the colors, growth and where they are found in the wild? if you know how they came to be apart of this hobby? Like fox flame where that coral was found etc? i search youtube for acropora videos and nobody has what im looking for! Basically do acropora interviews? thanks again for the content.
Great Dosing video. What products do you use to test Alk, CA and mg? Any videos on testing? I know how to test but could learn something in the process that I'm overlooking.
Wowww first time I have seen corals in such detail! IMO, they look less real with more detail, but really cool looking obviously. They look alien, really...
I've been using all for reef for 6mths, watch your mag, mine was off the chart although alk and calc were in check! Keep an eye on it, I've just dropped afr, to go back normal balling method👍
Hello Jake, need your help please? We acquired the carnation coral yesterday without knowing that it’s going to be so difficult to keep. Did some search and found that you have an article in reefbuilder blog. So, i have phyto and zooplankton in bottles (not live ones), when feeding the coral I turned off filter, directly blast the planktons with a pipette onto the corals and leave them like that for 10 minutes or so. Is that enough time before I turn on filter? Because once filter is on a lot of food gets sucked into filter... I really want to make this work, as a challenge to ourselves during the quarantine period and beyond. Thanks in advance! Love watching your videos and learn about other hobbyists’ aquariums! Inspiring!
Great system Jake proof that if it’s easy to do you will do it and if it’s hard to do it won’t get done as much you’re corals are looking BEAUTIFUL 🔥👍👍👍
I like what you said about the ab+. I’ve been using a+b for months now and I have no idea what’s in it either lol I’m waiting for ab+ to come out for consumers so I can try it. Great video thanks Jake. 👍✌️👊
Love your videos! I’m becoming a bigger and bigger brightwell fan. My corals (especially LPS and leathers) love neomarine more than any other salt. No clue why. And I need that hat!!!!
I will eventually need a doser for now I just do it manually but its only 11 mil of all for reef everyday for my tank given little to no coral growth... I am doing great with my 11 fish however.
I got one of those aquamedic 4 channel dosers, the 1st pump head seized up on me after 2 months. the other 3 heads still work but just like u have now have the kameor BT doser sitting on top of my aquamedic lol
You are great at what you do! Keep up the good work! I learn a lot watching your videos question: what camera do you use in those beautiful Videos of the corals at the beginning of the video? Thanks!
Not sure if brightwell didn’t have this when the video was made or you started using it. But why do you use the alkaline8.3 P and calcion P vs the brightwell Reef Code A & B powders
Martin Mira los vídeos de Pepe raked el está en cd de Mexico Yo estoy aquí en USA 🇺🇸 y sigo este canal Una recomendación cada acuario es diferente mientras tu tanque esté bien no te preocupe por otras cosas saludos
My Reef tank is 90g I only have 15 corals in there LPS SPS and soft coral. I am using All For Reef from tropic marine. 5m per day Sunday off. It’s very good and saves a lot of money I only need one Auto dosing head because it doses every thing all in one. I don’t think it would be very economical for a tank over 100/120g but it works for me my corals have taken on fair amount of size and are brighter than they’ve ever been. 👍🏻💞
Two things, 1) it’s amazing to see HOW MUCH WORK and progress you have made to the studio since the inception. & 2) It’s great not to see any orange plastic crap around your systems. The room and corals look amazing.
Absolutely, add things in small amounts. Tank and it’s inhabitants will take up whatever tiny amounts they need and what’s available. Think of a reef tank like a human body. The cells know what to do. They grab and use what they need. Just need to make sure it is available.
Jake - great video! I just want to know where I can find those dosing jugs!? They look like the same jugs algae barn ships phyto in, I can see myself using those for many things I daily dose!
Reef Builders I found some on amazon went with 16 oz. a lot of my daily dosing stuff will be moved to these, I am always measuring out and going through a ton of syringes and then have to clean them.
You sure that squirt pump is calibrated, at 9:30 when you were squirting the peninsula tanks, one of those squirts looked quite a bit more than 2/3rds of a ML. BTW, not sure if Colorado is in any way under lockdown, but stay safe.
Hey Jake - A question that is always on my mind. Let's say my normal daily dkH sits around 8.1. On Sundays I mix up a batch of RedSea Coral Pro saltwater and do a 10% water change. The RedSea mixes a little higher, let's say 11 dkH. So obviously on Sunday, my Alk is gonna spike a bit. My question is how disruptive is this spike to the overall health and growth of the corals? My understanding is that any thriving system most importantly must remain stable, and one day a week I'm completely ignoring that in the name of nutrient export. Am I pressing a reset button every week by shocking my corals with this spike?
congratulations for the channel and the videos you make are very expert. do you tell me for an aquarium Red Sea 60x60x60cm how many kg of rocks should I insert? thanks
Is there any chance we could get an in depth topic about ion imbalance? There seems to be a lot of misinformation out there. Be good for Reefers to understand and be aware of it.
All the corals look nice and happy....I'm thinking about using my stirrer to dose Kalk. Should i dose it with a doser or just let the ATO handle it? How do you measure the Kalk? I have the Reef Octopus KS-100. I have Brightwell Kalk+2. I would love to get my PH up as well.
It's a risky idea to dose kalk through ATO - I use a dosing pump to dose a measured amount of fresh/kalkwater and gravity-fed float valves make up the difference.
@@ReefBuildersVideo Ok so the gravity float replaces the water in you Kalk Stirrer? I can see the doser being safer because theres a level of control....

When I started using coloring I kinda freaked out when my skimmer cup had purple skim-mate! Then I realized it’s just the colors getting skimmed out and mixing... red & blue= purple!
ok I've been on the fence for dosing amino acids, I mean my 200g tank is just under a year old, but you've convinced me. Any recommendations, other than the big 3, on what to dose on 100% SPS tank? Mostly montis and acros, although there are some other sps (stylo, pocillipora, etc)
Most definitely! I went a couple months just dosing AB+ thinking it would have the same goodies as AcroPower, but there was a noticeable improvement in growth and color when I started dosing AcroPower as well

Thanks for the eye candy pls please put more I’m super bored I’m this Quarantine
I just needed a guide to dosing and u give it to me, jake my hero!
Wowww first time I have seen corals in such detail!

I just started dosing all-for-reef manually with the dosing bottle like this. It's nice to see how successful that approach can be.
I've been using all for reef for 6mths, watch your mag, mine was off the chart although alk and calc were in check! Keep an eye on it, I've just dropped afr, to go back normal balling method👍

You never mentioned how often your doing the manual trace dosing? Is that daily??
Oh jake, just make one video man, I'm starving for it, really bored in home lock down,😊

Killer intro footage
Does adding food coloring also affect the tanks water color over time

Coral look great! other than the dosing regiment do you spot feed the scolly or other large lps
Yes I do - in fact when I spot feed the LPS I imagine their waste and nutrients then trickling down to my SPS
Reef Builders whats your favorites foods to spot feed the larger lps ?

It’s ‘loosely, calibrated, a full pump is better when I’m not holding a camera in the other hand
Love the new intro song! Keep this one.
Those gold torches!
Do they make an all in one for dosing small reef tanks such as 20gallons or 40 gallons tanks?
I use all for one product for all and it works great

No issues with food coloring coloring tank water?
congratulations for the channel and the videos you make are very expert. do you tell me for an aquarium Red Sea 60x60x60cm how many kg of rocks should I insert? thanks
As little as needed to simply hold up the coral
Is there any chance we could get an in depth topic about ion imbalance? There seems to be a lot of misinformation out there. Be good for Reefers to understand and be aware of it.

Could this Red Sea product save my bleached Zoa?
Is reef energy ab+ more concentrated compared to a mixture of a and b?
A little bit, so they say but not by much
Is the food coloring reef safe or have you paid attention to see if there is any side effects?
if it's safe enough to eat, it's totally safe for aquariums
