@@lixd3054 Hu well tbh stories aren't the best selling point of Monster Hunter, although I'd say that the caravan members were pretty charismatic especially the boss, but that's about it
@Rathalomaniac i feel like monster hunter lost that goofy feel that it had, and is trying to take a more serious tone. Rise definitely has more of a goofy feel than MHWI. But i don't ever think they will be able to replicate it. This could also be because i grew up playing MH since tri when i 10 years old, and 100% could be because of nostalgia. But i think clunky monater hunter will always be more of my thing. I kinda feel sad that MHGU is the last "old gen" game we will get. It runs smooth, has styles and HA, but i would say it was the last MH game with the old gen charismatic.
My very first Monster Hunter game... and to be honest... I have no regrets about buying this game... this cutscene was the icing on the cake. I was in tears by the end.
lcjr Monster Hunter Freedom Unite and Portable 3rd are my favourites. Imagine the CG opening from those games with realtime graphics on latest hardware. We'll get a western oriented MH and will join the club with the other western oriented franchises like RE, DMC and Onimusha. Portable 3rd's CG opening reminds me of Onimusha, PS4 can already pull off these visuals in realtime.
H.Brandt True but the cost to fund such a project probably won't be worth it. The 3ds is a huge seller worldwide and only makes sense to put the game on a system that has easy access. The only console MH games I know of are Japan only.
lcjr If go by the rumours that could be the truth if Sony has paid for the development of MH5 to bring those CG characters to life on a big screen in demand by fan requests in the West. I can certainly think Western Capcom has received the same type of fan requests. Before this rumour was a thing we got some sort of leak from Verendus in 2014: www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=144389125&postcount=80 Title in concept means pre-production stage. Normally it used to stay there in 6-12 months depends on how ambitious the project is. And suddenly a year later Capcom is on hiring spree for an unspecified PS4 title: www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1147301 Sounds me to it's almost a whole new team they are hiring. Only the VFX designer is a senior since he has worked on Onimusha trilogy for PS2, Dead Rising for 360, Lost Planet for 360, LP2 for 360/PS3 and MH4, MH4G and MHX for 3DS. And from the job list it looks like the game is going to be western oriented like RE, DMC, Onimusha, etc. with high production costs. Cinematic experiences with voiceacting. Why this job list makes sense is because the rumour from two weeks ago makes it even more believable. It goes like this: "- Sony signed a deal with Capcom from last year for MH5 on PS4/PC, specifically excluding Switch. Sony paid a lot. - MH5 is an open-world game aimed at Westerners - with a lot of streamlined gameplay - no timer, no missions, less gathering and prep, more action based, QTE's, less complicated and fewer weapons. - Someone at Capcom leaked the deal to Nintendo. Nintendo have been quiet. - MHX sold more than Capcom expected which cause panic for a bunch of people at Capcom. Bunch of people at Capcom thinks MH5 is being rushed out with less content (monsters, weapons, balance) and will fail like SFV. - MH Portable series is getting resurrected for Switch, headed by main MH team. Traditional MH game - with new weapons and environmental stuff, some elements from MHX. - MHXX is getting a Switch port to set up for the Portable." After this and the job list we are getting closer. MH5 sounds like it's having a ending which main MH team is not fine with. Cutting off stuff that makes MH for what it is will be turn to something else to cater to the Western audience who only plays on home console and PC. Hiring a new character designer, 3DCG character modeler, animator, and even a project manager makes me believe they are building a new MH team from the get-go for the AAA console market internally which would be very costly and a big risk. But Shawn Layden didn't kid at this E3 about taking the step even further for the narrative storytelling in games. He both mentioned their studios and their third party partners will take advantage of it on PS4.
Mh4u has the best character development, it this game gave us soooo many wonderful characters. It’s the game to introduce us to the young ace hunter and his very relatable excitement in the fights, it’s why so many of us were scared by the intro to fatalis in world

Being interested in the story and customise my pelico’s armour. Good times…
I cant believe that after all these years I would watch this again. 4U was my first monster hunter game and it was the most magical experience in gaming I have ever had.
+Walastika Yeah yeah exactly! The moment she called me Doodle on my first arrival, i know i'm in for a wild ride of laughing. Remember when everyone was yappin about the eyebrows? That was awesome.

Gdi they always got me tearing up- especially when you never expect to see our good boy at 3:45 fighting a fatalis - saving you as his master did for him.
Honestly this brought tears to my eyes... The first monster hunter game I’ve played, with me just buying it bc it was on sale and looked cool. Never hearing of the series but willing to try it out, and that was one of the best choices I could make. I love the monster hunter series now, with me having almost over 2000 hrs into and Mh4u brought me into the community and this amazing world. The music, gameplay and monsters especially are what made me love it, and even if I don’t have Mh4u anymore the memories of it will stay in my heart ❤️
4:44 - 4:52 Absolutely love this part My favorite game. Can't believe there is still people playing. I have so many good memories on the online mode , I could play for the whole summer and not get bored. I can't believe it was 8 years ago. I was just a kid , things are so much more different now. We have to accept it.
MH4U still has the best story. I don't care if MHW was fully voiced. MH4U had a through-line, it had a mystery, and it had stakes. The world was going to end if Gore/Shagaru were left alive to wreak havoc and infest the world with frenzy, and everyone knew that. MHW didn't get stakes until you were at the very end of the first main quest. Up until then it was just "WE SCIENCE BOIZ LET'S GO SCIENCE"
Fully voiced handler... ignoring the story, I just wanted her to shut up. I was too late to change the dub to Japanese. It was the best thing they added.
I feel the same!! So glad I played through MH4U before getting into MHG and MHW. MH4U was ultimately the one that was most memorable and left a lasting impact on me. Really adored each and every one of the characters and you get so immersed even without voiced dialogue. MHW is second to MH4U in my heart.
Mh4u was my first mh game and seeing where it’s at now makes me happy bc it’s gotten so popular. I do really miss cutscenes like this though, there’s just something about them that’s so special so I’d love to see them come back in some way in future monster hunter titles
4u was my first monster hunter game I love to death, and I'm glad to see how far the series has gone now we are on to rise, happy hunting everyone who sees this
Honestly? If the released a HD switch port of 4u I'd drop rise before you could blink. As much as I love the newer titles, none of them have managed to capture that adventure vibe I enjoyed so much from 4u. The build-up to gore and shagaru was SO GOOD! And I miss having getting to fight a invasion monster like they did for FU, p3rd, 3u, and multiple times in 4u. Setting out from harth in our brand new ship only to get bodied by a monster I never expected to arrive left such an impact. I wish they'd bring back opening cutscenes. The nargacuga in FU and the tiggy neck snap in 4u always hyped me up to challenge such badass monsters.
Monster hunter world is the first MH i ever played from the series. This came to my recomended and for some reason it feels quite nostalgic despite never playing this game before..
I suggest you play the past MH games to be able to visit the different villages but be careful of the different and lack of features tho. I played them just to be there in the different villages
Started on 3U and was hooked. I could not wait for the next installment. Until 4U came along, I loved 3U. 4U and it's changes and additions are amazing. It quickly replaced 3U as my favorite and would get several hundreds of hours of my life. I liked genU for it's vast cast of monsters, but it will never be a better experience than 4U. Even after all these years, playing world and genU, I miss 4U.
i feel like the reason the cutscenes in MH4U was so lively and special is because it was kinda the first time you could make something look partially realistic and yet be entertaining it was such a groundbreaking game just in general but it held a candle light near the massive book that was gaming in years to come MH4U will always have a special place in my heart and i will also not stop pestering capcom to re add Dahren Mohran
@@gamechanger8908 yeah i saw that after watched the video, looked for that in the wiki. Almost 3 years in the community and i didn't know the moga girl's name was Aisha, (MH3U was my first mh)
I'm not from the 4th generation, but I love this a lot. I love the smaller and more meaningful moments full of character and personality. This scene is just perfect, from the music, the characters and the sequence of events.
it's weird how a funny little game about smacking monsters to death and wearing them as armor can make you cry but here we are mh4u was my first monster hunter game, and i gotta say, i don't know what i was doing with my life before i got into this series
MH4U was my introduction to the franchise and seeing this cutscene brings me such nostalgia on how much I struggle with everything at first, I am happy to see how much I grew since then
Azurelightning More like "Thx 4 playing oh and fuck you America, you ain't getting XX." But in all seriousness, MH4U is the end all be all Monster Hunter for me. Excellent monster selection, two awesome new weapons, aided newcomers with some good tutorials, had a great story for Monster Hunter standards (actually felt like what happened mattered), a phenomenal soundtrack, looked really good for the 3DS imo. Flaws? The difficulty starts off deceitfully easy only to kick you in the balls; twice for G Rank. But I love a challenge so fine by me. Fuck Rajang though. One other issue is the second offline final battle being a glorified tutorial. Pretty lame for an otherwise good single player mode. At least Gogmazios made for an excellent multiplayer final battle.
To be fair MHX/XX is a celebration of the series as a whole rather than a story with a main plot of any real signifigance. I mean you can fight Gore and Shagaru at the same tier along with a lot of other familiar and flagship monsters. Makes sense that their ending would be more of a love-letter to the series as well.
I honestly enjoyed MHX's ending, and all the salt over it is kind of annoying. MH4 had this ending because it had a plot, it had established characters, development, etc. It was a journey you went on, and this was your reward at the end. It fit perfectly in the game in which it was included. MHX on the other hand was an homage to 10 years of the series, a love letter and "greatest hits" compilation for the fans, and it had comparatively little in the way of plot or character development. In this way, it was like the first handful of games in the series, and the final cutscene, rather than being something deep like this was basically just a big "thank you" to fans for playing for 10 whole years. The whole game's atmosphere was as light-hearted and silly as this series has ever mustered, and its ending scene reflected this, imo.
volkerball85 Agreed! Though it is a shame Generations couldn’t have as great a story as 4U, it has superiority in other aspects, so both are really worth playing.
I remember playing this great game while my 3DS was working but one day it stopped it broke you know the little hole inside of the 3DS where are you stick your charger into well that broke and I feel very sad at the end I still do feel a little bit sad to this day I plan on getting Monster Hunter rise I had a whole bunch of games that I didn't play but I am so glad I managed to beat mh4u the game was totally worth it😢
The only Monster Hunter game that actually feels like it has a story. I've been playing since the first game (including 2 DOS that was Japanese only), but this is the first MH game that actually feels like it has character development. I hope MH5 won't disappoint me.
The first time I watched this I was as angry as a Rajang, almost screaming "why the hell are all of them leaving the caravan!? The little miss I can get, but everyone else?! Even my Palico went away!" And then I saw the ending and calmed down quickly, they just went on a, lets say, small vacation, I can live with that.
At first fter killing the main monster and watching this clip i feel sad that we won't get to see them but the best part is that they returned in Monster Hunter Genaration and all you can feel is the feels. The shit i go through with them T_T
Well, just before new game comes out I decided to replay MH4U just for the sake of shortening my waiting, so right now I just beat Shagaru and damn ... I remember what the game have a pretty good story (by the terms of MH story at least) but I didn’t remembered how undeniably wholesome it was ... I mean, without any word said you just feel it with all your heart .. and I won’t be scared to say that, but I think it somehow just perfectly captured all those best things what such "road movie" genre could provide..
I'm so hyped for World, yet so worried due to Capcom's track record of eventually ruining everything good in their lineup. MHW looks amazing so far, but there's so many aspects that come across as casualization, and I'm just crossing my fingers that they don't fuck it up somehow. ...I mean, as the first main series entry on PC, I'm gonna buy and play the hell out of it either way, but yeah.
slightlyoutofreach01 I mean, I guess the only thing Capcom can sort of mess up is the story if it doesn’t have likable or relatable characters. It’s funny because I can almost compare the success of that game to the new guild girl in it. Some fans find her charming while others find her annoying. I feel her character could go two ways in the full release. Her character will be mundane and forgotten, or through some development she could be a fan favorite. As for the gameplay, the game doesn’t seem to have any real issues with that.
Now THIS is a game I would buy as a port for the Switch, I know Generations Ultimate just released, but it's still fairly different and it doesn't even have to be expensive (20 bucks tops) to sell by the thousands
I know this is pretty cringe to say but, My friend (been playing since 3) me and him talked on the phone a lot and recommended me Monster hunter and I’ve been hooked sure I started in World and Ice born, But he said to me what weapon are gonna use, I said “The Insect Glaive” He was silent of the phone, I herd whimpering, And then full on Crying, I asked him what’s wrong.... All he said to me was, Make me proud (I known him for 7 years) And never herd him cry, He said 4 Was his fav. Before he knew I Evan existed he played and played it, With another friend (Who died) He said he Mained it.... He always told me, You got to be him, As he said to him if he died he’ll come back, As your best friend.. And he said to me “You have to be him”
man... i miss Old World MH games. don't get me wrong, World and Rise are good in their own rights, but they don't have the same feeling as all the games prior to generations which in it of itself (and this may be a controversial opinion) felt like it had too much going on from the start.

+VG Brasil (Joel Duarte) Cuidado cara, o pai dela é ciumento. haha
its the best mh Story ever
Oh god this is bringing back so many memories
Lol that will be funny to have a weaboo ending for MH World but I think not
Gdi they always got me tearing up- especially when you never expect to see our good boy at 3:45 fighting a fatalis - saving you as his master did for him.
Wait is that the guy from World?
@@omega13whitelucario95 yup, the a lister has to be one of the best npcs in all of mh, he's even the main character in the animated film
@@danielgarridomartinez7421 yeah found that put since then
But didn't know that about the film
I can't be the only one who finds Nadia the Ace Gunner (girl with dark skin at 4:36) to be a very cool and attractive character, right?
Ask the Internet😞
no! she's gorgeous! it's a shame i can't find more fan art of her because she's easily one of the most beautiful NPCs in the game.
Nadia is awesome. I love her character, she’s so intelligent and supportive and empathetic.
This is just my opinion but by far this is the best monster hunter game I have ever experienced in my life
Yea and it was my first monster hunter game and then when i finished the game i let my friend play it, it was her first time playing it too
i've played since freedom 2 until rise. and this is easily one of the best imo, only heavily contested by iceborne
@@Ray-gg3vq iceborne was really good but I think as a complete package 4u just hits differently
Same here, MH4U will always be dear to me. It too was my gateway into the series.
When you beat World and get into GU and the guildmarm visits
OOOOOOOH MYYYYY GOOOOOOOOOOD
4:44 - 4:52
Absolutely love this part
My favorite game.
WE CAN DO IT!
Mh4u is my favorite game of all time
Fully voiced handler... ignoring the story, I just wanted her to shut up. I was too late to change the dub to Japanese. It was the best thing they added.
-i never found the Handler to be annoying-
I only found the Handler annoying while I was grinding and she was constantly banging on about Anjanath.
I was happy to see the man smile in such a joyful and sincere way, for a character which is mostly of the time with a neutral expression...
Mh4u was my first mh game and seeing where it’s at now makes me happy bc it’s gotten so popular. I do really miss cutscenes like this though, there’s just something about them that’s so special so I’d love to see them come back in some way in future monster hunter titles
3:59 id die to get an actual book of this...even if it costs alot
Monster Hunter 4 ultimate's story had everything. Great locations, great characters, great tale and sense of progression. Just amazing.
I remember having goosebump fighting lagiacrus and ceadeus, I wonder why n from this vid I realized the BGM is kinda the factor
Still the best game in the series and one of the best games ever made
it's just so good, even after all these years
4u was my first monster hunter game I love to death, and I'm glad to see how far the series has gone now we are on to rise, happy hunting everyone who sees this
I miss so much that in Monster Hunter Generations.
I played them just to be there in the different villages
watching this back always makes me cry
The pinnacle of monster hunter for a foreseeable future
if the handler ever called me doodle, she would be disowned on the spot. Sophia is best girl
Fuck the handler
Guildmarm the hottest
So, her name is Sophia, everyday a learn something new of these games
@@jefrylovo9936 Yes most of us know, the wiki tells us most of the guild girls names minus the handler
The best game of the series, hands down.
This ending sequence is pure gold.
it's weird how a funny little game about smacking monsters to death and wearing them as armor can make you cry but here we are
mh4u was my first monster hunter game, and i gotta say, i don't know what i was doing with my life before i got into this series
YOU TOO??? im the only one i know who cried
MH4U was my introduction to the franchise and seeing this cutscene brings me such nostalgia on how much I struggle with everything at first, I am happy to see how much I grew since then
Guoldsmarm is what the handler wishes she could be
damn.. compare this to the MHX ending... lol
Mhgen was like "you win yay now go buy xx for g rank"
Azurelightning
More like "Thx 4 playing oh and fuck you America, you ain't getting XX."
But in all seriousness, MH4U is the end all be all Monster Hunter for me.
I do hope World can top it.
And I'd love it if XX came to the West. Now is the perfect time Capcom! Strike the iron while it's hot!
well now it will come lol
To be fair MHX/XX is a celebration of the series as a whole rather than a story with a main plot of any real signifigance. I mean you can fight Gore and Shagaru at the same tier along with a lot of other familiar and flagship monsters. Makes sense that their ending would be more of a love-letter to the series as well.
Just finished Shagaru and got nearly teared up watching this cutscene. This game is a Gem.
i love it how visibly upset that palico got when she slammed the bag down and made the bowl get flung
I’m not crying it’s just that whenever I get a flashback and get sad water, COMES OUT OF MY EYES!
now i remember why this god damn game made me cry.
I feel peace right now with this song
I literally paid 3 bucks in a capsule machine in Japan and got this Gem of a game. Best 3 bucks I've spent, and made me a big fan.
kinda makes me sad that you can't transfer your save and have the caravan recognize you in MHG :(
I think it's better like this.
I'm happy when I think my character is still with the Caravan.
after years of leaving mh4u... i cried watching this again...
When we go back to the old world I want this as an endemic life 1:29
And then there's the MHX and MHXX ending
I just can't watch these feel good MH cutescenes without tearing up.
I'm not even sad, just... Happy I guess.
Perfect gameplay perfect story perfect game
When i beat the shagaru magala i did NOT expect this omg i got goosebumps the moment the song started playing
This almost made me cry
4:01 the reason i keep coming back
I just finished Shagaru! He is one of my favorite monsters now!
New monster hunter will never make me feel the same way older monster does. And for that I'm sad.
that score really tied it all together i can tell there was something good going on here, but without the music i never would have really cared.
I just noticed that the dude in alloy armor is bout to square up with the other dude for blocking the way lmao.
Jorgey Xamavier u mean MHG?
shadowlord mcgill, by MHG did you mean MHGen or Monster Hunter G?
Mhgen
Wait I thought mh5 was mhgen?
Or am I just stupid?
shadowlord mcgill, it's normal to think like that. But no, MHGen/MHX isn't MH5.
4:04 oh no she's cute as heck
I think MH4 is the best story in all MH series.
Now It remind me when I got excited for pulled Hero Sword in MH 1.
At first fter killing the main monster and watching this clip i feel sad that we won't get to see them but the best part is that they returned in Monster Hunter Genaration and all you can feel is the feels. The shit i go through with them T_T
So N O S T A L G I C
I've got emotional when i see this cut scene while playing this game😭
Well, just before new game comes out I decided to replay MH4U just for the sake of shortening my waiting, so right now I just beat Shagaru and damn ...
I remember what the game have a pretty good story (by the terms of MH story at least) but I didn’t remembered how undeniably wholesome it was ...
I mean, without any word said you just feel it with all your heart ..
and I won’t be scared to say that, but I think it somehow just perfectly captured all those best things what such "road movie" genre could provide..
El final de 4U. Es simplemente hermoso
And then a giant Apex Seregios comes out of the ether.
Here after i heard they're making a movie about the Aces.
A cg one.
*Fuck. Yeah.*
I love this series so much. It saved my life
The only mh game that felt like an rpg
Now, for Monster Hunter World providing this experience again
Aaaaand disappointed.
Good gameplay, shite story.
Eh well, it was a smashing success, so the team can refine it in later runs!
@@ES21007 haha forreal. I wanr another game like mh4u. God i love this game so much
Oh how I wish they bring Gore and Shagaru Magala back to the world of Monster Hunter
This game made me who I am today when it comes to my hobbies
All the series of monster hunter always have a nice ending song, its make me fell i am in this game
Now THIS is a game I would buy as a port for the Switch, I know Generations Ultimate just released, but it's still fairly different and it doesn't even have to be expensive (20 bucks tops) to sell by the thousands
I never played this. My first was 2004 on ps2. Amazing and I am happy you all enjoyed this game.

don't get me wrong, World and Rise are good in their own rights, but they don't have the same feeling as all the games prior to generations which in it of itself (and this may be a controversial opinion) felt like it had too much going on from the start.
