The first time I watched this I didn't even get what was happening with the relatively innocuous word... I just assumed the Donny lines were part of the mod, and thought it was cool that there were voice triggers in the custom campaign.
I like how the game starts you out with the virgin marine starting base before the commander arrives, scoffs and drops down the chad base of the absolute chunky marauders to show you how it’s really done
But elimination comes from destroying all buildings, not units. You can have a 200/200 army and still get eliminated. Unless he was flagged as a building.

No build mission typically have unit as win/loss condition, this might be one of the option. it also could be 2 other possibility: Falty spawn, because it drops a sh*t ton of early spawn, some might bug out due to spawn location being occupied. Alternatively, its to provide vision, some trigger requires vision of coord to activate.
You can set the win and loss conditions however you want in the editor. So there's no need really, the map maker could just add the loss condition of 'all units lost' after a timer once the marauders spawn.
@@GIIToTIIG Probably a faulty spawn. Because providing vision that way is pointless, there's a whole system for providing visions over areas via triggers and regions, which is pretty simple.
I was kinda hoping that every unit in this campaign was some variation of marauders I was not dissapointed. This and Grant's marines only runs makes me want to see a marine ver. of this, like every unit is some type of marine, like medics are simple, you can just give marines flamethrowers and rocket launchers to make them fill in the role of firebats and marauders, I think mengsk does this in coop. After that you can just go crazy, have marines with jetpacks be air units, have four of those airlift a container to be a transport, have an artillery unit that's just a canon carried by marines, I think the potential for memes could be there.
It's like the idea of real-life conventional military equipments which they often times do variations of a certain fundament/chassis of a weapon, making it versatile for every role, from logistics to combat, like the UC treaded vehicle from UK. I'm a big fan of this concept.
if you want to have "oops, all marine" campaign, consider playing Dawn of War. "Space Marine" is a faction in that game, and you can give the Marines plasma guns, HMGs, flamethrowers, and even missile launchers.

Also, I've never realised how badass Marauders are. They are the most chill and big badaboom terran unit. I love that this campaign accelerated it ten levels up
There’s use to be another Marauder unit that joined you in the super-marauder section called the Marauder Cavalry, it was literally just a marauder on a Viking. Funny thing is the change to ladder Marauders to 2 attacks was referenced in the updated versions of this and the Cavalry shot twice, therefore not Marauder, and was canned.
@@nathankelly5976 I also live in the UK and am part of the group that the slur is used on, and I couldn't care less, in fact the unit name got a faint chuckle out of me. But I understand if Grant wants to avoid controversy and appease the algorithm.

DoW2 is one of my favorite campaigns in RTS history... but I worry a bit because Grant mentioned in this video that he gets tired of no-build missions quickly, and DoW2 is entirely no-build missions (even if there's RPG mechanics overlaid on it to ease the pain).
Dow2 was always better as a second player in coop. Huge gear you wouldn't otherwise have access to with way better stats than normal. I miss it, but GFWL was trash.
@@Envy_Dragon I'm surprised to hear that because DoW2 single player missions were actually one of the most boring in the genre. Those were really repetitive slug fest one hordes of enemies you had to slowly grind down but also weren't much of a challenge anyway as well. Frankly it didn't even felt like an RTS game and reminded me more of good ol' Cannon Fodder. None of mine friends managed to finish campaign of single faction. Multiplayer might be great at DoW2 but campaign was rather disappointing.

The random Vermillion lines to censor the mistake was a very good touch Grant! Gave me a chuckle. In the original upload, i noticed the unfortunate misread of the unit's name, and cringed. Made respect for taking the video down as quickly as your did to the response. and honestly, part of me thinks we got a better video as a result.

I love the Tower of Power, the decent range of healing makes it basically immune to the SCV sniping that happens behind your standard terran bunker line. Much more versatile to use in the way that it's an everything-healer instead of limited by Bio/Mechanical/Unit/Structure groups as with Medics/Medivacs/Vessels/SCVs.
To all the people wondering what the word was or how it's that bad: It's a slur against those with mental disabilities. Whether it's bad or not depends on your region (the US might not care, but the UK and Australia definitely do, much like how "C'nt" doesn't raise an eyebrow in Australia but would get you into a fist fight in the US). The important thing is that this choice avoids the youtube demonitisation bot, and it potentially avoids hurting some folks, with the added benefit of making the video funnier. Nothing was lost, only good has come of this.
The fact that there's a lot of people in the comments complaining about censorship etc is just disgusting. Yeah, I know, 1st Ammendment, you can say whatever you want blah blah blah. Maybe, just maybe some people think that other people shouldn't have to listen to an offensive term? They have this weird thing called... empathy? And kindness? Weird. Fucking weird.

The mod is very much a product of its time, and much like we don't say the name of Lovecraft's cat, we don't have to call the unit by its name, we can coin another term for it. Stalker-marauder works fine, for example.
Useless fun fact: In Starcraft 2, projectiles fired by units' normal attacks take a fixed amount of time to hit targets regardless of the firing distance. So if two Marauders fire at different distances at the same time, both projectiles will hit the target at the same time. This is most noticeable on long range units. This is why Missile Marauders' missiles actually travel at a slower speed when fired from longer distances.
Big probs to you for this grant. Really appreciate you taking the time to reupload this. I know that’s frustrating but I do really think you did the right thing.
speaking of Red Alert, the healing towers appear to be inspired by Tesla Coils from that game - because you could attach a limited amount of shock troopers to make a tower better.
Dungeons 3 is the RTS that doesn't take itself seriously. I think they're making its sequel. Dumb fun is certainly something to be praised along with a serious, meaningful story like Wings of Liberty

That medic tower kinda reminds me of tesla tower from Red Alert 2. You could put tesla soldiers next to it and they would constantly charge that tower for more range and damage. Good times.

21:19 this does seem pretty solid, I feel like the opening defend dragged on maybe 5-7 minutes too long. just introduce maybe a little bit less, it's the standing around waiting. or have attack waves occur more often, and get new units faster, who help you deal with new threats. Just from watching you, once you get the big boy and start walking around you forget all that.

Just a random question from non-build enjoyer: For some reason, i really love tosh mission from wings of liberty(the one where you play as tosh), can anyone suggest me some good no-build maps that give the same feeling?
The Tosh mission is a pseudo-MOBA one, which isn't exactly new by the time WoL came out (Dota-variants are already being made since WC3 came out, and its predecessor was from SC1), so it's very unique among RTS missions in that sense. WC3 TFT Blood Elf 5 (where you rescue Illidan) is something similar. Into The Darkness (SC1 Protoss 6) is unsettling with all the infested Terrans that can one hit your stuff.
I wouldn't worry about the word Spastic. It's an older word, rarely used in a derogatory manner aimed explicitly at Disabled people. Spaz is used commonly, but is used more often to mean "idiot" than "disabled." Same with retard.
RUclips is honestly terrible with this sort of thing. They could take offense to anything at a moment's notice and they'll just immediately screw over the person in question and take their stuff down.

Grant specifically doesn't like no-build missions, so I don't think he'll vibe with DoW2 as much as he will with Winter Assault and Dark Crusade.

This is the most fun SC2 campain I've seen, like DAMN that is a dream come true! I didn't believe I would say this, but feels like the Warhammer game you just finished playing, BUT BETTER!!!
Curious but what happened to the previous protoss custom campaign? Is that dropped now cause it's too hard or something happened to it?

For some reason, i really love tosh mission from wings of liberty(the one where you play as tosh), can anyone suggest me some good no-build maps that give the same feeling?
I really don't like non-build missions, but the Tosh mission is my favourite WoL one.
There's something very well designed about it.
The Tosh mission is a pseudo-MOBA one, which isn't exactly new by the time WoL came out (Dota-variants are already being made since WC3 came out, and its predecessor was from SC1), so it's very unique among RTS missions in that sense. WC3 TFT Blood Elf 5 (where you rescue Illidan) is something similar.
Into The Darkness (SC1 Protoss 6) is unsettling with all the infested Terrans that can one hit your stuff.
I wouldn't worry about the word Spastic.
It's an older word, rarely used in a derogatory manner aimed explicitly at Disabled people.
Spaz is used commonly, but is used more often to mean "idiot" than "disabled."

Prime example of a strategy game not taking itself serious is Dungeons 3.

RUclips is honestly terrible with this sort of thing. They could take offense to anything at a moment's notice and they'll just immediately screw over the person in question and take their stuff down.
