      How expensive are rhythmic gymnastics balls? I want too be a self taught rhythmic gymnast since the closest place is 1 hour away without traffic I already do dance not ballet but acro, jazz, tap, and hip hop(I’m dropping tap tho and hopefully starting ballet soon) I don’t wanna buy an expensive ball(like the ball the best then ribbon but I have a small space) is there a cheap place I can buy one,
      I found a place called “Decathlon” that sells rhythmic gymnastics balls for like 15-25 bucks is that legit I don’t need anything heavy duty or super super good but I don’t want it too break right away if u get a chance can u look at the place or I can DM you the photo if u have insta

      i did rhythmic gymnastics competitively for 6 years. in the beginning it was all shits and giggles, but when i got older, i started competing and that's when the real shit comes in. i struggled a lot with the intensity it took to be actually good. i won multiple titles regionally and nationally, but in the end, my mental health took priority and i quit and started dance instead. honestly, doing gymnastics was great in some ways, but a lot of it was just stress and pain (physically and emotionally)

    • @julietdong8246
      @julietdong8246 3 года назад +3

      @thebxloved ah no, the stretching was very painful. most people aren't born with huge oversplits, unfortunately. I'm telling you, every good athlete out there will say that their training brought them pain. the human body isn't meant to do the things that many athletes do.
      also, i picked dance, but i also dance competitively, so uno reverse card on you 😂

    • @aperson5294
      @aperson5294 3 года назад +2

      @@julietdong8246 SAME HERE MAN. Also, RHYTHMIC GYMNASTICS IS ALSO AN ART. We can be artists too. That was not directed to you. And yes, DA PAIN. THE EXCRUCIATING PAIN. Unfortunately, I am the other way round. My parents would rather put me in rhythmic gymnastics than dance when I love ballet when I was little but I never really got the chance to develop a huge passion for it. I still understand the pain but because of my love for it, I am still smiling through the pain and sucking it up. I also am NOT flexible and our teachers kick our hip joint, stand on our hip joints, press our upper body downwards and also press on our knees so we can have hyperextending knees. It's the pain that we have to pay for training. And no, I have a nice coach. I know she means well. We just have intense training but then again, I am just enduring it and keep training. I suppose that one of the things for us to keep learning rhythmic gymnastics is to really like it and have a passion for the sport/art or it will be hard to continue further.

    • @aperson5294
      @aperson5294 3 года назад +3

      @thebxloved I can tell you that natural spines are not bent forwards. A baby's spine may be in a C curve because of crawling but when they slowly grow, it develops into an S curve. It's also why it's essential for a baby to not sleep on a pillow because if a baby sleeps with a pillow, it would be kept in a C curve. But then again, students do not bend forwards. The correct posture is to keep our backs straight. I don't see how that's not good. Also, normal humans can stretch too. They just don't need to stretch and have more flexibility in order to do something. Also, it's not called having a bad coach. It's called having a coach that wants you to improve. Like, if you just stop going more downwards every time you feel pain, you won't keep going downwards and you won't improve on your flexibility. Also, dancers have high anxiety too. One of my ballet friends had high anxiety too. Their teachers were very strict too and constantly helping them to correct stuff. It means well too but it's also intense training. Also, pointe shoes are TORTUROUS.

    It’s not your fault that you can’t control the hoop. Rhythmic gymnastic hoop is usually heavier so it’s more stable. Also your hoop is a little too small. Your ball is probably also a little lighter than the actual rhythmic gymnastic one.
    I’m so happy that you tried rhythmic gymnastic. Rhythmic gymnastic is not well known so a RUclipsr like you doing rhythmic gymnastic just makes me very happy.

    Imagine if your ballet company invited a rhythmic gymnast to teach a flexibility class 2-3 times per week. The improvements from cross-training would only be exponential. I have watched videos of ballet dancers getting into Cross-Fit and DogPound type workouts, but do any major ballet companies explore cross-training in disciplines like gymnastics? I can imagine the moves and techniques you could teach each other would only enhance both disciplines. (I am including artistic gymnasts and their floor routines in my thinking here since rhythmic is more for the coordinated gymnasts).

    I find it very interesting that you had kind of a hard time with it. I was a rhythmic gymnast and always thought ballerinas could do our stuff very easily!

    I just recently found your channel and I really enjoy your videos, they are super fun :D. I'm not a dancer at all, but... I kinda wanted to try ballet (as a hobby maybe?), it just looks so fun (although I know I'd totally be bad at it lol). So I'm curious if you would do any videos about adult beginners who wanna try ballet (I'm 20), or tips, or maybe what actual ballerinas think about adult beginners. That would be so cool! Even if it's just funny comedic videos ;)

    When little girls in Aussie government primary schools loved spending hours during playtime, after school, lunch time, sports time doing such healthy kids activities. Every little girl owned a hula hoop and juggling balls, skipping rope and we played with these all the time. There were also high monkey bars and high swings etc that some acrobatic girls not scared of heights, like me, got very good at. Outside, weather permitting, teachers would put out a huge tumbling mat, farmers brought bales of hay and we jumped and rolled and tumbled all day on these. It was good fun and so healthy. There were also hurdles and high jump kits set up and a big long sand pit to practice long jumping on. But, eventually times changed and all this gear was considered a safety risk to kids who loved it and removed. All this healthy kids activity stopped. Such a shame, given how dangerous what it has been replaced by is to kids' health and safety. Far worse than the chances of breaking a limb tumbling around or falling off a swing or similar playground accident. There were always teachers or other adults eg parents around to watch over kids for their safety playing. It was rare for a child to get injured and this was usually because they wilfully disobeyed school rules about the use of certain sporting equipment and apparatus. If any were caught misusing the gear, they were banned from playing there, which kids hated missing out on. So not even the known naughty kids broke such rules. I did once, urged by a boy who said we could parachute off a fast moving log swing if he built up the speed pushing it high and fast. I did parachute off, like he said but it wasn't fun landing on a pile of rocks and stones that was a Goanna's home as it stared at my grazed bleeding legs from m the fall, as if to say "What the..." Then the old large metal school bell rang time to go back in and we had to try to cover up the evidence of our rule breaking Ng, the blood on my grazed legs for "parachuting" but the teacher knew because he had seen us. The log swing was declared off limits to us two kids and we hated being excluded but seeing other kids having fun on it, though following the rules, not getting so excited about swinging high at fast speeds like we did, hearing all the loud clang of metal then parachuting off to see who could go the furthest distance just jumping off..We could have hot killed by such a silly pursuit... But when this was impressed on us, we lost interest in "parachuting".

    I did rhythmic gymnastics for a year in 5th grade. The oversplits were *PAIN* (I already had my splits, so other people had it worse for sure). I don't really walk over so much as slam down onto the ground and force myself up. 😎😅
