Going through this again in 2020 and I'm astounded by your insights
"Mantra is a way of communicating with devata and by the very act of communicating with Surya you become empowered by Surya"
This is so so beautiful. Asking devatas for things is so deeply symbolic of our modern exploitative culture of thinking of everything in terms of ownership instead of stewardship. Also it makes the whole process so ugly and transactional, lacking any love, respect or devotion. I shall really try to implement this perspective. Thanks a ton. 🙏

Vic, my goodness that you for this lesson. This is so powerful- it absolutely awakens something already inside the DNA, inside the consciousness. It’s like turning on a light in a dark room you’ve been fumbling around in. Learning Sanskrit is a big-time goal for me! Thank you again.

Vic, thank you SO much! For ALL your teachings, for ALL you share with us. It's been SUCH a pleasure learning from you and getting deep into the Surya mantra the last few days. I don't remember the last time a teacher held my attention so intensely and inspired me to learn so joyfully. And so quickly, too! As soon as I encountered this video, it just captured me. I spent the day repeating the Surya part over and over again, and taking careful notes of your translations for it, pausing often to take the time to contemplate each word. The very next day, the mantra was repeating in my mind throughout the day, on it's own! And I could pause it in my mind to contemplate each word, slowly. You drove the point so well about why these mantras are such important tools for us, and HOW they work, and why we must learn the meaning of each word, carefully. For me, it felt so effortless to follow your direction and dedicate time to repeating it many times, to let the meaning sink in. Now, after a few days, the visualizations that spring from understanding each word just flow through my mind effortlessly, without my trying to visualize. It's as if the mantra sings itself inside my mind and shows me visions, as if Surya himself sings and visualizes it from within me. So very beautiful, life affirming, invigorating. A most beautiful communication between us and Surya, AND it just keeps evolving and expanding each time it is repeated. What a gift this is! I am guided to stay with this one mantra for the time being and listen internally for when it is time to move on to the next one. I keep coming back to this video too, and each time I listen to your teaching, more beauty and understanding is revealed. I'm just overjoyed to have found you and your teachings and look forward to reading your books and checking out your online courses, as well. I am deeply grateful to and for you. 🙏

Thank you Vic!! I just checked out( and of course subscribed to) ur channel and it's awesome!!! I've been wanting to learn about this stuff for so long and love the way u present it, and explain stuff and the way u teach/talk/ or even seem to think is either exactly how I would/ have (lol, it's crazy actually, almost verbatim!).. and the info I'm learning from you is so easy for me to understand (for one ur prob the first I've listened to that doesn't have a thick Indian accent lol) but the way u teach is so ...🤔 Can't think of the words but.. "thorough" I guess .. basically it becomes very difficult to understand some of these teachers that cover these topics, whether it's in Hindi or some (most) of these gurus or whoever, always try to sound so "wise" by speaking in metaphors, and parables and I just wanna choke them and say "just fucking tell me the facts!" Lol.. so, sorry about this novella I just wrote u, but ur so appreciated!!!🤗🤗🤗

In fact, I have just realised that what I am referring to is the subtle reflective light of the moon that lights up the world of the mind; not the Sun, which is the light of the Self. The Sun is, indeed, golden.

Vic, that was very powerful and moving. I wish you could lead a five day study course in Spain one day where we can all chant together and go through the Nakshatra and planets like this! I have a question about the Sun, which is, when looking at someone's chart we focus first on the nakshatra of the ascendant and the moon, but not the Sun's, and I wondered why this is the case since it is the source of our consciousness. Also, are the other stars in deep space gods or suns or both? So is our Sun also a god? Sorry this is convoluted but it is hard to ask, andmaybe you can answer spmehow sometime.

What is your perspective on the purpose of Bija Mantras? These tend to be mantras of very root-words themselves. Even they can be broken down some further, but it's harder to spin that into a metaphorical meaning for contemplation. Like VAM and SHRIM for example. Also to be fair, I do think the Bible has similar verses asking the reader to contempt/meditate on scripture, in a style other than "asking for things" noted by Joshua 1:8.

Wow! i like how you explain different aspects - gyaan kanda/karma kanda etc. , I've heard there are benefits to 'just' listening to the mantras as well, but like you say, perhaps not as much as communicating with the planet with the mantra. What about 'popular' mantras like Aditya Hridayam?

Dear Vic, thanks for explaining the beautiful mantras. It is always a pleasure to watch your videos and learn from you. I have questions on a couple of topics.
    1. Could you please tell me why these two particular mantras were chosen for Surya and Chandra out of all the vedic hymns? For instance, the Surya mantra is from Rig Ved book 1 hymn 35 and 2nd verse. Hymn 35 is dedicated to Savitr and there are several verses of hymn 35. Translations of all of the verses are beautiful and extols Savitr/ Sun. And there are even specific hymns dedicated to Surya directly. Why were one of those verses not made 'The mantra for Surya' or 'The mantra for Chandra' respectively? Is this Rishi Parashar's personal preference? (or whoever wrote the Parashar hora shastra... isnt that where these mantras are mentioned as 'The mantra for Surya' and 'The mantra for Chandra'?)
    2. You had mentioned how the meaning is more important than just the words uttered without meaning. Then isnt it better to communicate with the devas in a language we know and understand? From what I understand, the bhav ( emotion) produced within us on account of chanting a mantra is more important than the mantra itself. Is this correct? Or do you think only Sanskrit language can produce such effects within us ( emotionally)?
    3. Does bliss exist in duality or it is beyond? As in... like how there is happiness and sadness, pleasure and pain like two sides of the same coin. If we experience happiness then we need to experience sadness because these two terms exist in relativity only. So does bliss also exist only within relativity or is it something beyond? Does the Vedas say anything about it? This Soma bliss the highest bliss that is being mentioned in the texts and experienced by Bhaktas? Or is it different? Are bliss and prema the same thing?
This comment is a bit long... thank you in advance for even reading! Hope you respond. Look forward to hearing from you.

yes Maha Magi how can u find that which is already within ~`~

  • @lotushealingsanctuary
    @lotushealingsanctuary 3 года назад

Yes and perhaps no. The "mind" "tool" (ManTra) is not just the intellectual definition of the words, it IS; however, it is also the visualization and more specifically, the quality of the visual content (which is the vibration). This is because the visualization, in a way, formats the mind. What we focus our mind upon (our tendencies, bias) is part of the formation of our doing, our knowing, our experience.
It is good to sense and feel and so I am not critical of the use of a warm beach, a blue sky... whatever it takes to drop into your well-being place. Maybe leave the drink behind. ;)
Of course, Example, Chakras are merely visualization diagrams in space. It is fine for the seeker to use these "tools" as they aid in the realization process. In fact, the entire system of Chakra science really is based upon resting into these places through the power of mind which will then create the uplifting feeling.
Of course, the intelligence is there. The question, I believe, is really what is first "intellect" or primordial "sensation"?

Just saw this video - ruclips.net/video/ynSY7ScE_H4/видео.html, and it has a great reference to the etymology of 'exist' and it immediately reminded me of the Sun mantra. Sun, it seems, is the instinct to individuate, and Saturn, the opposite of that.
