Yeah, that, the short comic strips, and the author’s cow avatar really added a ton to the story. Like a palate cleanser after increasingly messed up volumes

What chapter?
When he said 'two souls have just been returned to you' when he was praying, he didn't mean Nina and Shou. He meant Nina and her dog. Because there's no way Shou got into heaven.
The english dub kind of messed up the translation by saying "two human souls" instead of just two souls.

@The Archiver you are so idiot. There are multiple religions in world. Every of them got different beliefs. And same for this anime.
@@50yearsago81 It's pretty clear that Scar and the Ishvallans are at least partially based off of biblical depictions of Hebrews. As a core tenant of those beliefs is praying for forgiveness and grace, even for Sinners, it's highly likely Scar was, infact praying for Tucker's worthless soul. Case in point when Scar was closing in on Edward he specifically offered Edward a moment to pray. Infact the only person we see Scar condemning to Hell is Father.

Everytime I watch this episode or reactions to it, I think back to the credits from FMA 2003. There was usually a logo or something to that extent at the end of the song. But after this arc, there was one time in the credits with a precious picture of Nina and Alexander together.

Combined with the original sub, the final scene with Scar in this episode was when I first started realising there was more to this guy than just someone who hates State Alchemists. So upon the revelation in the next episode of him being Ishvalan (hope I spelled that right), made me fully invested in his character, for me, this was the moment Scar went from potential Villain, to an Antagonist character.
For those who say what’s the difference, Villains are people who do bad things for the sake of doing them, Antagonists however, by their dictionary definition are merely those who are pitted AGAINST the Protagonist, Antagonists do NOT have to be evil to fulfil their role, Villains do.

5 months late but in general: if you have the time, 10/10 would recommend FMA 2003 episode 6-7. The OG anime spends a bit more time in the Tucker’s household and well, if you think this episode is rough hoo boy
