One week into NaNo already!!! I feel like time is flying by!! How are you doing?
I hit 10,778 words week one! I’m really proud of myself because I just started a new job and I have a six month old so keeping up with the house and going to the gym has been challenging on top of that but I’m doing it! 😅 I’m keeping an eye out for my mental health to make sure I don’t get burned out.
Sarra, I just want to say, the "real you" is a wonderful, beautiful and kind soul. This is my favorite series that you do because I relate to you so much in these moments. I'm also a mom of 2 and it's nice to hear about how you handle everything while also being a mom. Most days I don't even bother with makeup(I love doing it but never have the time lol) so as far as I'm concerned, you're doing fantastic!
I'm only at 4491. Which I am okay with. This is my first NaNoWriMo and I knew when I started that I wouldn't be able to reach the 50k. I am just enjoying tracking my writing and honestly, I am mainly working on writing some amount of words daily. So far I am at 5 days straight. I will honestly be happy with writing 15K this month.
I broke 35k today. It was a long day to get there (over 8k written in 8 hours today). I skipped over the middle of my story and started on the final act. I’ve never written so much in one day, but I’ve been holding all of this ending in for so long, I had to let it out. And it was gushing.
I rewarded myself with a new tarot deck. I had decided I wasn’t going to buy any new decks for awhile, but I caved. 🙂

Sara, I don’t know how you do it. In my house this is what I contend with as soon as my butt hits the chair: ratatatata (hubbie playing Halo, yes, I can hear it thru the headphone); slash beat, repeat(daughter playing beat saber); the loudest cat in the world? Yes, I own her; and the cutest lapdog? Yes, I own him too. And somehow we will all survive me winning nano without anyone dying accidentally under my grip lol😅
500 million is so much money that after buying a maintainable dream home, setting up college / start of life funds for my nieces and nephews, investing so my husband and I could live off the dividends, I'd probably build libraries in poorer areas. I grew up super poor, but the library was always my safe space and comfort zone. I am such an advocate for literacy and reading because I know it lifted me up out of poverty later in life and I would want to provide that opportunity to other people. I was so fortunate to have a robust and well-maintained, safe library system to visit growing up, I just want other people to have that same opportunity.
I love this so much because I did not have a good library. I got hand me down books and read them a thousand times and a library would have been such a life saver.
My week 1 total was 17,942. This is my highest week 1 count ever. I'm so excited, I hope I can keep up this momentum.
I love your daily vlogs, it inspires me so much! I am all over the place with a new book idea, still working on a book that I started years ago. I refuse to give into the negativity around me, those people that don't believe in me. I'm so grateful to have my husband who is my sounding board and idea board, and to you who like I said before is an inspiration to me and so many others. See you tomorrow!

I forgot to say how great it is to see real life. My house is messier than usual, the washing is behind, and don’t even get me started on the dozens of apples we’ve not yet cleared off the lawn. Nano life 😂
Writing life and stationery supplies: organised. House: messy. Never have such relatable words been uttered 🤣I hit 10k on day 6, and awarded myself a little stash of washi. But I also hit one of my "better" HB90 goals & lost 10lbs since Q4 started, so I have more rewards coming this weekend.
Good morning, Sarra. Welcome to Day 9! Time with family is the most important part of life. I miss those mommy days.
What would I do with $500mil? Bob and I would each take a small portion for personal use, put some back for each of our grandchildren then invest the rest... though an above ground current/wave pool with lifetime maintenance would definitely be a serious consideration. :-)
My Nano was technically supposed to start on Da 8. I've put in just over 1k since the first doing YT sprints. Bob left yesterday and I took the day off to watch Hallmark movies - 2 for research. Today it's back to sprints and word count while I continue the clean/ purge on the office.
One thing I always try to do when I attend a conference is take an extra day at the hotel to put all I've learned into some sort of perspective. I wasn't able to do that this year with OCW - I knew that going in so that may have been why I just couldn't get into conference brain while I was there.
Bob and I are already planning for him to take the week off next year if they bring you in as a speaker. Crossing fingers! - Creative Blessings!
13,056 words but I didn't get to write yesterday. I was out of town. Wyoming is a medium sized town with looooong streets. 550,000 people in the whole state. Walmart in 100 miles one way for me. Good luck everyone. :)
I hit 7076 in week one and 8078 by the end of Tuesday. Today I’m continuing a series of flashback scenes that will fit into the story, just not 100% where yet :p

Mine is going well so far! Over 15k now and hoping to get more tonight. I just didn't feel it this morning - too cold and tired. But I got my 10k reward - the Sharpie S-gel pens in purple. Yay purple!! So glad you're home safe and getting back into the groove. Love seeing the kids but I'm happy to see you taking the time to spend with family off camera - it is important. Good luck catching up and bypassing your goals! Put a picture of that iPad on your computer - you'll get there! :)
Glad to hear you are jumping back and forth in your story as well :P I'm writing the scenes as I see them at the moment and this way I'm all over the place. I feel pretty good about the word count. Today is Day 9 and I just hit 16K this morning. I'm not so happy about the voice. I might change the perspective into first person when editing. All in all it's a way dirtier draft than last NaNo, but I'm trying to be not too strict with myself and reminding myself that the first draft is NEVER perfect! :)

If I won the lotto I would set up more sensory and therapy clinics for littles. I wish there were more in our area and early intervention is so important.
I'm not writing yet for NaNo but watching your videos makes me want to jump in with a much smaller goal for the rest of the month!

I love these videos. I found your channel last year during Nanowrimo and have been hooked. You give me so much hope and inspiration to follow my dream to become an author. I totally understand the need to be with your kids, my son caught the flu and I took a day from words to nurse him. Thankfully he's doing much better now. I'm following the same method you are at the moment, the words aren't coming to me easily with my current project so I'm just jumping around. But even with the slow downs I'm at 10,543 by the end of week 1. Good luck with everything and I can't to see your new book take shape.

Creativity is messy and unpredictable. Your process here mirrors mine, especially since my missing chapter was really messing with me in the beginning. But, I'm happy I pushed through. *And* I've thought of a way to **possibly** recover the missing chapter. So, I'm *cautiously* optimistic and sitting at 15,009 (993 of which I still need to write). The words aren't stellar, but at least they exist. Thank you for the video and good luck. I hope you get that awesome reward!
I got past 25k for Nano and got myself a nice candle that promotes joy. It's burning right now as I plink away. I might be giving myself a day or two to 'rest' on the story before I pick back up with it again. Today was so busy I hardly had time to write.
I'm so behind. I only hit 5k total yesterday. That said, I am rebelling it and hoping to finish last year's project, so I don't know if I would get a 50k target anyway (although I'm hopelessly overwritten before edits, so probably!). Good luck!

So far for nano my week 1 has come to a total of 4,193 words, I was hoping for at least 5,000 by the 7th but I was close. Now to write up a storm as I missed out on yesterday's writing 🤣
I got some new fluffy socks at 10,000, and yesterday I got a scented candle. I can't wait for 30,000 because I have a bag of Jelly Belly beans with my name on it 🥰
I hit 20K today. My 15k reward was a collectors edition of ACOTAR. it was competlely unexpected, it just happened to fall into my lap and it's georgous. My 20k is a new tarot set. I love Daiso! We had one in Hawaii while I lived there and it was so cool.
I hit 5200 today! I'm super behind but it was worth it :) My 5k reward is a bottle of wine and a foot rub... currently waiting for hubby to walk in the door cuz my feet need rubbing! 😆

I'm taking it slow, more so with all the kid/school appointments but happy I've made some progress. Still convinced I need to transfer some thoughts to another notebook so that they are easier for me to find and understand 🙃
I’ve been making fantastic progress and then BAM 💥, I’m working on scene layout and all of the sudden don’t like one of my characters. She isn’t, strictly speaking, essential to the story but I’ve already devoted several scenes to she and another POV so I’m going to keep going and putting her words on paper and will deal with keeping her or getting rid of her in the edits. 😅
We creative types tend to be a little messy. lol. I'm a little behind, but I feel super encouraged today. Thanks for the updates!
There are so many authors out there successful in their own right and despite the masses, you are my biggest inspiration as to where I hope to be one day. I have recently started a new novel, one I actually want to finish after starting so many projects and never settling with one long enough to finish. Thank you for all you do. My week 1 total is 17287, which I'm super happy about. I pre-bought 30 small washi tape rolls so I'm rewarding myself with 1 new washi tape each day that I get my goal. I also took a practise from HB90 and set a good/better/best goal for my daily word count and, so far, I've been hitting or just exceeding the better goal each day. I didn't set rewards for any of the big milestones because I didn't have the money to do so, but if I've got some spare pennies at the end of the month and I've hit my 50k/70k/90k goals then I might get myself a Delfonics stationery bag.
I was at 7992 yesterday, with four (planned) zero days for work. I'm hoping to get at least 3K today since I don't work.

I would love to have that store down here in FL! I've heard so many amazing things about it. You're doing great!!! I'm sitting at 20k right now, getting ready to write here in just a few minutes. I've gotten some stickers (10k award) then I got a cover for my apple pencil that looks like a regular pen. My next one is that I get a new travel coffee mug (BTS) from amazon, but I don't get that till 30k) I really want to go to a writer's conference like that one day, the ones I've been to before I was a reader, not a published author. Hoping I get to do that soon. Congrats on your speech and that the conference went wonderful!

I did buy a powerball ticket. I would hire private tutors for my kids, who I currently homeschool and give lots away.
Congratulations on making almost 8000 words. I’m a somewhat new subscriber and I wanted to know do you take a break after NanoWriMo? Do you find yourself exhausted after uploading every day for the month?
500 million dollars would be such a life changing amount, I could pay off my student loans as well as all my family's and then not have to worry about if I'll make rent or be able to afford groceries for a good long while
If I won 500 million dollars I would sit court side every game of my favorite basketball team.
If I won that much, I would set up land with small houses, a store, and a large garden. I’d move in homeless and we’d all be involved in the garden plus have a way for them to earn money. I’d have a doctor, and dentist, and hair dressers available on site. I’d get my kids and grands set up financially. I’d buy a smallish house in a big piece of land … two. One in a warm climate. Not sure it’d be here in Texas but then one in state of Washington or somewhere in the north west. I’d say I’d travel, lol but I can’t leave my little weenie dog, Winnie for long. She’s my baby and doesn’t do well separated from me. I don’t do too well either. Lol.
I would give money to my hospital. They have done so much for me.
2 billion dollars…I’d become a female version of Batman 😎

I bought a ticket too. I won like $8 from the powerball. Hubs and I talked about this too, and we'd essentially help our family, and extended. I didn't take my planner with me either. It felt weird. I'm about 8K words behind. *sigh*
