Bride cries when she sees her paralyzed father stand for the first time

- Former IndyCar driver, Sam Schmidt was paralyzed from the neck down in 2000. Savannah was only 2 years old when it happened and has never known a time when her father could stand. On her wedding day, they shared an extremely special dance together.
We were lucky enough to witness and document this incredible moment for the family. It wasn't easy holding the camera still with tears in our eyes, but we did our best.

The "l like this view " of this man who once stood tall looking over his family at the room was so powerful.
I love that he did this with his daughter but looks at his wife's face, she is so happy to be dancing with her husband, getting to hold him. I am pretty she does everything for him and she is so happy to have this moment.
Definitely a huge moment for the WHOLE family!

Such a courageous and loving dad. The whole family knows what sacrifice is all about. Can you imagine how many times they had to be there, not just for dad, but to encourage each other to press through all those years. I have a daughter too. Someday I plan on officiating her wedding. What a day that will be. God bless this family.

This is the best wedding present this father could of given his daughter ! There are moments that touch the heart and can not be put into words a beautiful special moment that will be cherished forever. Too dance with her father for the first time in 21 years can never be replaced and is priceless I hope they danced too Daddy's little girl !
