Stage Fright is a 2005 DVD by the British rock and roll band Motörhead. It was filmed in Düsseldorf, Germany to commemorate the band's 30th anniversary.
@@krischan67 this version is MUCH faster which is why it was such a treasure, plus it's a credit to Mikkkey Dees drumming ability to be able to play this as the last song of the show All hail Motorhead
This song has 42 years. Let that sink in. 42. It's like: 1977 - Sex Pistols: "Hey, we've written some really badass shit, dudes. That's attitude." 1978 - Lemmy: "Hold my whiskey"
There’s loud. Then there’s louder. Then there’s Motörhead… Had the pleasure of seeing them live four times. God only knows how I’ve still got my hearing. 😂
This stuff is subjective. People might wanna argue if the word should be _objectively_ but that’s a bit too vague. Judas Priest’s history of drummers is real interesting. Dave Holland was set up by the cops/government and died in obscurity. The drummer on their second album straight up hasn’t been seen since, like, 1982. I’d go so far as to _guess_ it was Rob’s partner that committed suicide, but that’s based on absolutely nothing. Les Binks left because the manager or producer had the wild idea that he shouldn’t get paid for album sales on a live album he played on… I really dig Dave Holland, but it sounds like he’s about to hit the next thing on the kit and never does. Old mate Skip, could put children to sleep he’s that good. You can perfectly loop Mikkey Dee’s drum work, so he *could* be the best drummer - in terms of raw technical ability - but not everyone will agree and there’s plenty of stuff I can’t to listen to Mikkey butcher (or rewrite, perhaps, rather). Oddly, no issues with Pete Gill. I pray for Pete Gill’s hands, may they rest in peace… hopefully he’ll be right.
Lemmy, the most humble and gracious mega rockstar I ever had the pleasure of meeting. Overkill is pure brilliance. Rest in peace my brother. My only regret was not visiting you at the Rainbow during your last days. Your swag, your no hold barrage attitude and your machine gun finales will never be forgotten.
My first gig at 13 was Motörhead in Glasgow, I feel so so lucky to have seen them live, I’m 24 now and I’ve lived by Lemmy’s Philosophy since that day, be yourself and live your life how you want too, god bless Lemmy ♠️
I have watched this so many times, and I swear it gets better every time. This is easily the best version of Overkill, and certainly one of Motörhead’s finest performances. I love how at the end you can’t even really hear the crowd because it’s so loud, and THEN it fades out. The one and only Motörhead.
Please don't try unless you have the constitution of an elephant!! Lems lifestyle would kill mist of us mere mortals...believe me,I've tried and I'm amazed to still be here at 53!! Love from Bournemouth UK.
I know it's probably the most repetitive cliche that ever existed in the ether of Motorhead fandom, but Motorhead and Lem literally saved my life. You know how they say " you never want to meet your heroes", utter rubbish when comes to Lem. Gracious beyond words, compassionate without a need for rhyme nor reason and badass without airs and inauthenticity. What is one suppose to do now when the machine gun finales no longer exist.........
I have seen a lot of bands in my life, but nothing and no one comes close to this song that i was lucky enough to experience live in virtually the same setting as this video. The sound, the bass, the drums, the strobes, it was mind blowing. I was fearing for the structural integrity of the building, for real. They cranked the volume to 12, full tilt, the sound was physical, literally hammering you in the chest while the strobes fried your eyes. Best song i have ever experienced live in concert, by a mile!
Lemmy created a genre that only he could play, and he once said, when Motorhead is no longer there, there will be a huge void because what they did, what they played was unique
Are you the only Greek that doesn't like bouzouki? Wow , I'm impressed . Lived there for 10 years and when my car was in extremely high volume MEGADETH MOTORHEAD METTALICA GUNNERS A.C. DC , JUDAS PRIEST, ACCEPT, Greeks were looking at me like I was an alien. Congrats though.
I particularly like when they exited and Lemy left his bass 'motor' running for awhile then you hear the change in sound like when an engine is shut down- just like a Merrilee's KV Major 16 engine shutting down.
this song is just like an heavy bomber passing a few meters above your head! it's crazy.Lemmy and Motorhead you are the best heavy metal band for ever!
