@@krischan67 this version is MUCH faster which is why it was such a treasure, plus it's a credit to Mikkkey Dees drumming ability to be able to play this as the last song of the show All hail Motorhead
This stuff is subjective. People might wanna argue if the word should be _objectively_ but that’s a bit too vague. Judas Priest’s history of drummers is real interesting. Dave Holland was set up by the cops/government and died in obscurity. The drummer on their second album straight up hasn’t been seen since, like, 1982. I’d go so far as to _guess_ it was Rob’s partner that committed suicide, but that’s based on absolutely nothing. Les Binks left because the manager or producer had the wild idea that he shouldn’t get paid for album sales on a live album he played on… I really dig Dave Holland, but it sounds like he’s about to hit the next thing on the kit and never does. Old mate Skip, could put children to sleep he’s that good. You can perfectly loop Mikkey Dee’s drum work, so he *could* be the best drummer - in terms of raw technical ability - but not everyone will agree and there’s plenty of stuff I can’t to listen to Mikkey butcher (or rewrite, perhaps, rather). Oddly, no issues with Pete Gill. I pray for Pete Gill’s hands, may they rest in peace… hopefully he’ll be right.
There’s loud. Then there’s louder. Then there’s Motörhead… Had the pleasure of seeing them live four times. God only knows how I’ve still got my hearing. 😂
This song has 42 years. Let that sink in. 42. It's like: 1977 - Sex Pistols: "Hey, we've written some really badass shit, dudes. That's attitude." 1978 - Lemmy: "Hold my whiskey"

I have watched this so many times, and I swear it gets better every time. This is easily the best version of Overkill, and certainly one of Motörhead’s finest performances. I love how at the end you can’t even really hear the crowd because it’s so loud, and THEN it fades out. The one and only Motörhead.

I have seen a lot of bands in my life, but nothing and no one comes close to this song that i was lucky enough to experience live in virtually the same setting as this video. The sound, the bass, the drums, the strobes, it was mind blowing. I was fearing for the structural integrity of the building, for real.
