I wasn't surprised when I heard about the 8TCF being OP in dirt racing. I had tuned the Auto Union Type D to the top of B-class with its stock tires and used it to do dirt drift zones and it worked extremely well. I think that all vintage race cars in the game might have potential to being op in dirt/mixed surface and cross-country races.

I would love some more insight into Offroad races - I'm clearly doing something wrong and want to understand how to be better. I consistently crush the other race types, but unless I have a super-meta-tuned vehicle, I struggle to place top 3 against the 'highly skilled' AI drivers. Even an 'OP' tune barely helps.
Brake less is what I've learnt
^ pretty much this. Try throwing yourself more into the corner a bit more, don‘t slow down/use the break as much as you would normally do and go full metal to the pedal in the corner. Hard to explain, but a more „overly brave“ driving style has helped me a lot
Handbrake rather than brake helps me
