Love the Zoey’s rescue zoo series!!!! I read them aloud to my daughter who is in Kinder. She is animal obsessed so the lack of pictures weren’t an issue. But now I am realizing in a few years she could reread them all to me! ❤️ Excellent choice - many years age range too!
The Libby app is awesome for the kindle. It allows you to check out books through your library, which are then delivered to your kindle. All you need is a library card.
Your haul videos are my favorite!! I keep paper and a pen to jot down all the things. My girls will love those that Zoe Rescue series - getting some of those now! Thank you for sharing.
I love my kindle too! So much so that I got a kids kindle for each of my kids. It comes with a years subscription to Amazon unlimited which is their online library AND with the Libby app I can check out books they want from the library and “send” them to their kindles! They love it. I love being able to read in bed in the dark, which is when I am able to read the most. With library apps and checking out books and audio books rather than buying them, the kindle pays for itself very quickly! Enjoy!
I'm looking forward to your review of the summer workbooks. I'm on the fence between Brain Quest and the Summer Bridge. I like that the Summer Bridge has physical activities. Brain Quest is so colorful and fun looking. I need help picking one.
I feel like your daughter would enjoy the books “Hatchet” and “The Trail”. Two chapter books that have a ton of survival skills for kids. We enjoyed both of them!
I didn’t think I would like an e-reader but I bought one a year ago and love it! I love being able to read in bed with no book light. I also love being able to get library e-books for free! I like being able to take multiple books with me on trips and I can read what I am in the mood for. A tip for borrowing e-books from the library: if you turn your e-reader to airplane mode after you download the book, it won’t synch again until you turn it off airplane mode and then you have longer to finish your library book! It also saves battery life to keep it in airplane mode.
Sounds like a great summer ahead! LOVE my kindle. I am able to read so much more by having it and not needing two hands, a light, etc. still prefer paperback for some non fiction for highlighting/underlining and being able to easily flip to a place to reference over and over. But an e-reader was quite life changing haha
I LOVE my kindle paperwhite. I tend to read faster and read more on it since it is so much more convenient. I open and go. It fits nicely in my purse. I can read in bed without disturbing my husband or bother my eyes with a bright light. I love that I can have multiple books no matter where I go. I love that I don't have to drain my phone battery on the kindle app. I just love it. LOL. My most recent purchase is the Five in a Row Volume 1 and a few books to go with it. I wanted to try it out for our summer reading! (6 and almost 3 year old)
My dad bought my sister and I that survival game so so many years ago! It’s legit sitting in my parents house right now and seeing you unbox that flooded nostalgia for me. It’s a cool game and we enjoyed it when we were younger. I hope you all enjoy it! Our Amazon haul has been math manipulatives to round out materials for our Kindergarten math curriculum.
Let me just start by saying I love the looks of all your curriculum. I'm going to be doing your survival unit with my boys and we're adding in the book Survivor Kid: A Practical Guide to Wilderness Survival by: Denise Long and The Thinking Tree - Wild Wilderness - Adventure Handbook: A Survival Guide & Science Journal because they looked like they would compliment the included Survival Handbook very well. Plus we've ordered an Emergency Survival Kit, Adventure Station "This is Wild" Survival Kit & a Supology Water Filtration Straw kit from Amazon for some more fun hands-on additions. The boys are soooo excited to get started!! Thank you again for coming up with such fun & exciting curriculum ideas. Now I've just got to figure out how I'm going to do a Frozen unit with my daughter...lol. We have a set of Frozen chapter books that she wants us to read together, but not sure how I'm going to make it into a unit study yet.
I love my kindle! I can grab it and throw it in my purse for appointments and is lightweight the other advantage is if we ever get to go on vacation again I only have to take the reader instead of multiple books. I, also, like kindle unlimited to be able to borrow books and apparently you can borrow digital books from most libraries
I love your shirt! Those zoo books looks cute! We liked the brain quest summer workbook! We did a couple of them! My daughter really loved the sticker map that tracked your progress!
I do love my Kindle. I had the paper white and recently upgraded to Oasis. I love it! If you decide to do that at some point…give the paper white to Emily? Also, I have recently started reading fanfic. I never thought I would like it. There is some amazing stuff out there. Right now I’m into Once Upon A Time fanfic. I put it all on my kindle and organize it with the program called Calibre. So many great things about it!
I love real books when I read but I also use a kindle app on my phone. Sometimes the books are just cheaper on kindle and sometimes it is more convenient. This month I bought the national park book to go with your national park curriculum because we are headed to Yellowstone! We are also going to use it next year as we use your survival and traveling the states curriculum. I am going to combine the three. My kids are excited to learn and I am excited to be able to combine geography, science and social studies all together.
Girl on the Train & Gone Girl- YES!!! You might also want to try The Woman in Cabin 10. So good! I’ve been thinking about a paper white for so long but haven’t made the dive. I also love a physical book! Maybe someday.
I’m glad you talked about the E reader, I couldn’t remember what you shared and I’m thinking of get a later Mother’s Day gift. I love books for the reasons you said, but with 4 kids have in a hard time reading. I thought I’d try audio, doing a few trial with Amazon, haven’t had a change to listen to it yet. Decided to try the kindle app on the iPad. So I can read at night or early AM if a kid is in my bed and the couch sleeping, they take all my spots lol. I have enjoyed reading on the iPad. It’s kinda heavy to hold, I do have extra kindles (kids got new ones) thinking of wiping them clean and using that. But they are older don’t charger well, but it saves me money 😂🤷♀️
I took a screenshot of the Zoe’s Rescue set. My son is going into 3rd, but will study animals and ecology in 4th (or when his next science is complete). BJU also has a summer workbook. We don’t use BJU but that was the one I almost bought without knowing others existed. We don’t have any summer books though. Brain Quest looks the most fun. How do you use the “What your [...] grader needs to know book, without getting overwhelmed? How do you decide what’s important, or do you just use it for ideas?
I can’t make myself do an e-reader yet but maybe if we start traveling again I’ll look into it. This month I bought some things for our summer learning and for the fall. Artie 3000 (my girls want to start coding) A compass and footie pajamas for my middle daughters 7th birthday (her request-I also have the last two Kingdom of Wrenly books for her collection) The Illustrated and Interactive Adventures in Pinocchio for our read alouds in the fall Grow a Little Fruit Tree (for me) Adventuring Together Live caterpillars (they just emerged as butterflies today) Cats in Art and Everything About Cats and Kittens (we got a kitten) Women in Art: 50 Fearless Creatives who Inspired the World
I’d love to know how you feel about flipping through and marking pages on your Kindle. I don’t have an E reader but I can imagine going back through the book ( in reference to spelling words or vocabulary or copy work ) might be cumbersome.
I love all of these books recommendations! My kiddos and I love watching your hauls, you are so familiar to them that my son was convinced he saw you when we were in Target the other day! I am loving the look of your updated survival unit that you posted on IG. What is the recommended age for the survival unit? Also I am in love with that shirt, love tie-dye and love the look of that material because I live in a humid climate as well (I am an hour north of Houston >.
I can't do e readers anymore it gives me migraines sadly . I also had to go with a bigger phone due to migraines. I went from apple to Samsung z fold .
Is outschool the online classes they promote on Facebook and Instagram a lot ? Do you have any videos on them ? I keep looking at their classes but haven't heard anyone else talk about them .
The zoo book series looks adorable. This is my first time visiting your channel. May I ask what reading level this series would be? What grade is your daughter in? Also, i use my iPad and my iPhone for my E-reader and LOVE it! I’m like you and LOVE the feel of an actual physical book in my hand, but sometimes the convenience of the e-reader wins! I have used an e-reader more the last three years because we are currently traveling as a family with my husband’s job, so it cuts down on the amount of physical books that I have which saves room!
I have the home learning year by year book but never bought thr what my kid needs to know . Do you really think it's worth to have them both each year? Is there a lot of the same repeat info ?
Do you have any recommendations as far as books go for a 10yo who reads lengthy books on her own and who wants to be a vet? Those first books are so cute but a little young. She has read all the harry potter books on her own so about that level. Thanks!
My daughter reads and listens to a lot of books, including Harry Potter, Wings of Fire etc. But she couldn't finish Wizards of Once. She found it too creepy. I haven't read it myself to know what made it creepy, but she doesn't scare easily so I was ok with her deciding to dnf it.

Never thought I would love an e-reader, but I have learned that I totally do! I can have so many books at my finger tips.
The battleship game looks like a fun adding to our space unit for this year. So many games.
Psychological thrillers are my fav and I LOVED The Last House Guest!
I LOVE when you share the books you purchased for Emily! Helps me discover new series. Thank you!
Woman, you make me spend so much money! 😄. We’re looking forward to doing the Survival unit this summer.
I am so sorry, but not really 😄
Your haul videos are my favorite!! I keep paper and a pen to jot down all the things. My girls will love those that Zoe Rescue series - getting some of those now! Thank you for sharing.
Well then stay tuned because I have a surprise coming this summer!

The Zoe's Rescue books look so adorable!
They are! They use to be scholastic book fair series but now only on Amazon.

The first book series for Emily looks so cute! Something my upcoming third grader would enjoy. Thanks for sharing!

I resisted e-readers as well. I like it for short, light reading but still prefer books for thicker, deeper books.
Some really cool picks here
Love an amazon haul🙌🏼

The Zoe's Rescue Zoo books look I've ordered some from the library- thanks! I can't stand reading on a screen- books are way better!
I’d love to know how you feel about flipping through and marking pages on your Kindle. I don’t have an E reader but I can imagine going back through the book ( in reference to spelling words or vocabulary or copy work ) might be cumbersome.
I haven't really tried that yet. I have just used it moreso for pleasure reading for myself.
I could not find the link to the ereader and the cover shown in this video, can you share that please

I just like that the What Your Grader needs to know books are written as read alouds versus the Home Learning year by Year is just a guide.
Can you check out library books on a kindle?
Look into your library. Our library offers Libby app and that you can download to you kindle
@@ourlittlepath they have Libby, so it should work?
@@TicketToLearning yup it should. You connect your Libby to your kindle account
@@ourlittlepath thank you!
Do you know if you can read Zoe's zoo rescue out of order? I have a panda obsessed daughter and would like to start there.

Hmm I will make sure we do one together then!
I just bought the worst case scenario game at a thrift store.
Another GREAT place to find it!
I feel like I need to not watch this video.....I've done so well NOT spending money on Amazon this month 😄
Then don't watch 🤣🤣🤣
