I recently made a numbered list in my notes app of all our games. I ask Siri to pick a number from 1 to however many games are on the list. Then we have to play that game that corresponds to that number. It’s been great. We aren’t playing the same games all the time. Once we play it, I move the game off my list to a “played” list with thoughts and a rating. Thought I’d share as an idea for you and your 20 min games.
Appreciating your mentions of homeschooling through hormone shifts, teen development, things that were good habits start regressing. Seeing that with my daughter too.
I highly recommend The War That Saved My Life as a read aloud. It's very good! (And there are two other books to continue the story, but we haven't read those yet.) Cheers to an awesome seventh grade year!
Keepers of The Lost Cities is a series, and I love it as an adult. Another for US History- Sweet Home Alaska. It was one of my daughter's favorites. It is about the settling of Palmer, AK.
I absolutely love, love, love all of the books you share! It’s been such a help to hear about books I wouldn’t have otherwise known about. We’ve added so many to our Libby App collection and Hoopla! My daughter recently discovered a love for graphic novels so these recommendations are perfect!!
I love all your videos. I love your unique approach to homeschooling. I would honestly love to see how/where you store all the resources you have. Hoping to get a bigger home soon with a basement so I can increase our game school stuff! Lol
Would love to see the Fairy Tale unit study for sale with your products OR better still - an Outschool class!!! Also, will you be putting out an Election Unit Study? Love your hauls!!
❤ we just wished to share the dice game quixx❤ we just discovered it and it was really fun and pretty quick❤❤❤ thank you so so much for sharing so many wonderful things❤
I love that we found you during the pandemic and have been following you all of these years & that your daughter is two years ahead of mine so I can keep up with the Jones:)) Also I love hearing the blue jay call around minute 38:00, my favorite bird and they don’t live where we moved a few years ago. Thanks again for the great inspiro
That's a great idea on games.. we have the same issue so many games that we tend to play our favorites and don't try new games that we have sitting there.. thanks for this idea
I absolutely loved this video! Keeper of the Lost Cities is one of my absolute favorite book series ever! We used The United Tweets of America as a morning basket book and loved it!
Oh and if you're looking for fun science videos that don't bore middle schoolers to tears and aren't too baby-ish, Generation Genius has some great ones!
The War That Saved my Life has a book two called The War I Finally Won. Both books were good we did them as a read aloud and my husband was even interested.
If ya’ll like Science Comics you may enjoy History Smashers or History Comics. Also the “For Kids” series has several books related to American History w/activities.
We loved fractured fairy tales we did a whole year of these gathering all the dofferent ones from the library each fairy tale has multiple versions and some are based on a countries point of view, and others were the other side of the story exapmle the wolfs side vs red riding hood.... this was one of our favorite studies of all time..
I would recommend reading the False Prince with Emily. I really enjoyed it and can't wait to share it with my oldest. My daughter also LOVES Katie the Catsitter. I don't know if you guys are Avatar the Last Airbender fans or not but their graphics are amazing
I’d say 30-40 for spots would be pretty accurate. We have played quite a bit. But it’s dependent on who you are playing with. It goes quicker on BGA (board game arena) since you aren’t manually rolling the dice.
The fairy tale experiment inhale been debating buying for a while. Hope you like like it. Also you might what to check out Bubba the Cowboy Prince. It’s a fun Cinderella retelling.
I'm curious where you got your pencil caddies ? I can't find some tall enough for the pencils not to fall around/out! I love all your game recommendations ! We usually add a few to our collection after your videos !
Have you used the pilot g2 pens? They are my FAVORITE, how do the gel pens compare to those? ALSO, I can't find just a black pack of the fineliners, can you provide a link or say where you got them? Nothing is coming up in amazon.
Hi! You might enjoy some videos that about different fairy tales. There is a couple based on plays. On better yet, look to see if your area has the Theater productions. There is into the woods, under the mattress, or Shrek beside the traditional fairy tale princesses. Thanks for your video. 😀
Love this video, Jessica! ❤Every year I fill my cart with your suggestions. 😅 Did you see there is also a smaller version of Ticket to Ride for Amsterdam, Berlin, Paris and (an additional US city) San Francisco? 🚂 Hope you and Jessica have a great school year!! Kevin, too.
Can I ask where you got the pen caddie with handle in the back? We have tin bins but they are in a way annoying to organize because the top and the bottom are different width.
My favorite time of year for homeschool videos!! So much fun stuff. Thank you as always for sharing. I will be adding a few to our cart.

What a neat idea! 😮
Genius!!

I am always impressed by the way you get the camera to focus correctly, on the item then back onto you. You do it flawlesslessly!
This is auto focus :)
It is auto focus! But I have to make sure I completely cover my face as the camera is hunting for my face otherwise.
I love the supplies you got like the notepads and fun gel pens. I have never thought of a first day gift. ❤
I highly recommend The War That Saved My Life as a read aloud. It's very good! (And there are two other books to continue the story, but we haven't read those yet.) Cheers to an awesome seventh grade year!

Hooky is an excellent Graphic Novel series! My daughter LOVES it!!
The you choose fairy tales was really fun and interesting way to see how the story can tie together.
Thanks for the recommendation!
We love No Thanks! :)
I really like the Todo notebook 👍 great idea.
Since you are on-the-go even more now, did you choose anything for car-school?
That's a great idea on games.. we have the same issue so many games that we tend to play our favorites and don't try new games that we have sitting there.. thanks for this idea

Where did you get thr galvanized steel buckets behind you, storing markers and colored pencils? I love that idea.
Which writing book worked best for emily?
Spill the ink, brave the page or how to write a novel?
I would recommend reading the False Prince with Emily. I really enjoyed it and can't wait to share it with my oldest. My daughter also LOVES Katie the Catsitter. I don't know if you guys are Avatar the Last Airbender fans or not but their graphics are amazing

What are you doing for a system for the games
Where did you get your pencil/marker/pen holders in the background? I would really love to find some for my homeschool! Thanks!
I found mine at Hobby Lobby YEARS ago. But this one is very similar to what we have: amzn.to/3WvQO91
Do you have a link to the buckets behind you that holds your pencils?
I'm curious where you got your pencil caddies ? I can't find some tall enough for the pencils not to fall around/out! I love all your game recommendations ! We usually add a few to our collection after your videos !

I call them Character Building books 😊
You should look into the graphic novels by Nathan Hale. His hazardous tales series goes great with American history…my 11 year old son loved them
Emily blazed through those, it's what got her into graphic novels.
Ahhh I'm just completely Jealous of all the supplies and curriculum you're able to get! Lol

There is sometimes a discount for homeschool groups at the live action theater

Adding those to my wishlist!
So the warriors series just released a new graphic novel, and my daughter said it follows the actual novel better in case Emily is interested ❤
How do you store so many books and games?
I believe they have a homeschool room where they are all stored. She has a whole play list dedicated to those kinds of videos "Our Homeschool Spaces"
We have a homeschool room, but I also purge every year before buying for the next year. That way I know EXACTLY how much space I have.
I saw the warrior cat series at our library! There are diffrent arcs? Thinking about getting it for my son!
Emily said they are different 🤷♀️
Do you have a video of family games play time 20 minutes or less? My kids love games, but sometimes we just dont have a lot of time. Thanks
Not yet, but I am working on it!
@@TheWaldockWay that sounds great! Thanks!

I love the list. I usually take pictures of everything you show. 😂 Do you know the name of the book like the History 1001 that you used last year?
It was this one: amzn.to/3LRfqnw
Happy belated birthday emily 1:43
Thank you 😘
@@TheWaldockWay you are welcome Emily what did you get for your birthday?
You will want the other two books in the Chains series or you won't know how the story ends!
