It was this Estimated/Eyes that turned me into a Deadhead. My boyfriend took me to my first show in 1983 (Madison, WI), and went to quite a few shows at Alpine Valley before we did any serious traveling to see them. But I didn't dress like a Deadhead, I didn't look like a Deadhead, didn't know the lyrics to the songs yet, etc. I felt like an outsider. Then one night he put THIS on for me - and I GOT IT - and was never the same again. BTW, this is on a presumably rare bootleg vinyl album marked "Recorded live at Rick's Café, Casablanca. Mfg in Valencia, Venezuela "All Rights Reserved. All Wrongs Reversed" A mint four album bootleg, and a cherished possession. My wonderful Deadhead husband has been dead over 8 years now, and listening to this brings me joy and pain unimaginable. Hope he's on a back porch somewhere over the rainbow with Jerry........and Pigpen and Keith and Brent...
He always will. (I've never had high speed internet before, so I'm only just recently discovering how much Dead music is on RUclips - this will keep me busy for hours!)
CuzKatieSaysSo It will keep you busy for days! I have the same 4 record box set. I never knew where this one had come from. I saw the dead 14 times but never saw them do this one. It is about one of my favorite tunes from anyone ever.
Went to this show with a buddy, we parked about 5 miles away, wepaid an older couple $10 to park in their front yard. When we got back to our car, they had left milk and cookies on the front porch for us. So cool.... Remember it like Yesterday..... Good ol Grateful Dead
I was 15 and this was my 1st Dead show. Nice to hear this as it's basically a blur in my memory even being there - just bits and pieces. I do remember that Peace Reigns in Old Bridge headline from the Star Ledger the next day. On the 2nd page of the article was a photograph of my sister standing next to the banner she had made with the help of my mother. I can still hear mom saying, "And what are these? Marijuana leaves we're painting?" I remember New RIders opened, pretty sure I crashed during the whole Marshall Tucker set and then the Dead played. It seemed like 12 hours of music.
I remember going to this show with my girlfriend , and a bunch of friends. The bus that took us there could only come within four miles of the raceway. It was a long walk too, in the heat of that September. Thousands of people walking to the show together, with more then an occasional helicopter buzzing the crowd. We continued walking through sleepy neighbor hoods with residents standing on their porches in awe. At one point the crowd was diverted by a broke down pickup truck onto a homeowner's lawn. The lawn had a slight slope to the sidewalk. That little slope turned from a lush green lawn to a dirt trail before my eye's. We arrived at the show , and was witnessing Dead History in the making. Absolutely one of the most Fantastic landscape's of people I've ever gazed upon. When Eyes of the world came on the crowd seemed to go so cool into a beautiful daze of pleasure, and cheers. Wow.. what a spectacle I thought......... Thinking about it all now sends chills down my back. My girlfriend, and me in our young beautiful bodies swaying to the music...... Many years later I had a delivery van service that supplied English town Raceway with fliers for upcoming events. When I arrived with the fliers one day there was this gentleman that turned out to be one of the executives of the raceway waiting for this particular delivery. I mentioned that I was at the Dead show in 77'. He was a dead head too. We unloaded the pallet of fliers with him helping me in his suit ( Tie ,and all on !) He then wanted to show me some pictures of the show. When we arrived at his office , one whole wall had a high resolution photo of the stage ,and crowds. The picture was taken from a helicopter high above the crowd he mentioned . The other pictures were all backstage photos of him hanging with Jerry........ Such fantastic memories gazing at that giant Photo. Memories of youth ,and the Grateful Dead
+1starcrown dude i was there too, two friends and i, parked on the front lawn of some random dude, 10 bucks, also miles from the show, missed most of marshall tucker band, but plenty of time to get set up in our zone for the show,,we ended up on top of one of the box tractor trailers that were used as fencing,,they lined the entire field..maybe 50 of them,, hippies on toip of every one of them, bouncing and flexing the roofs in time with the tune,,,once the show let out , we were trapped in the throng leaving the racetrack down the access road, people burning fires all along the way, swampy woods to either side of the road,,, we finally got out to the main road, of course no fucking idea where we parked,, hiked around all night , and found our station wagon right at sunup,, i think we parked right next to that pickup what a great fun time we had! of course jersey in summer , the mosquitoes were wicked !
My friend jeff and i rode our motorcycles there, camped out the night before, saw a great show, will never forget that day. Jeff passed away a few years ago, RIP- buddy, will see you again some day.....

This particular version of Eyes is not only the best; Jerry’s intro with the band is perfection and he is lead by the drums/bass/rhythm all along; it’s just exactly perfect and one of my Top 10 songs of all time

Wow some amazing experiences you got to enjoy, this amazing once in a lifetime show and i'm sure the NYC show was just as amazing, so awesome you got to enjoy a show at the original FILMORE EAST, which is now sadly just a bank in the same building that hosted many magical nights
This is a Dead jam that would turn on anyone not yet in to them. This has to be in the top 5 Dead jams that bring in the un-lightened wanderers. It is one of my top 5 Dead jams of all time. The other 4? Depends how I feel and where I am and who I am with and where I have recently been, etc...... That is what makes the Dead the Dead. See?
Green Infrastructure Buffalo NY Buffalo NY I've never to this day been able to put into words what makes them and just how the Dead are so damn special. You hit the nail right on the head here. It all depends on environment, which is what makes the music so phenomenal. From person to person, song to song, and place to place, it all weighs into the music. Thanks for finally putting that into the perfect wording, rock on my friend!
Came over from Scotland 4 th July 1976 followed the dead around gods country till81 this was magi personal favourite was Cornell 77 neve r seen bad one sitting in London today jammin along to this groove alls well in the world
I fell in love with a girl in Edinburgh in 1982. Scotland was pure magic and delight. I fell in love with the Grateful Dead at this - my first ever show
i was 7 years old and this is a strong early memory as I grew up 1.5 miles from Raceway Park ... this event JAMMED UP HALF THE STATE!!! pun and no pun intended
I had never been back to Englishtown since 1977 and I went to a BMW driving event there last year and I just looked at the grounds and pictured the place full of thousands of Deadheads. Helicopters flying around. Hoses shooting out water because it was so hot and everyone was sliding and playing in the mud. I was right up front by the light tower on the left and remember looking back and not being able to see the end of the crowd. It was a strange moment to be there in an entirely different context so many years later but it brought back that magical day. It really was epic! The Woodstock of the 70's for us. I still get chills when I hear this version!
I have never been back either ...so crowded we lost the people we drove from SUNY Brockport with. My friend Lee and I had to sleep on the side of a road and had to hitch hike back to Rochester ,NY. Played Trucking as an encore with a big ol full moon shining. Tough hitch hike though..... took for ever. I guess that is what they mean by a long strange trip ;)
Len Bellacicco seriously, i was 13 and tripping. Hearing this live was a gift, along with hes gone, god i can still smell the patchouli and weed, not to mention those oh so foul porta potties ha!
Arrived at 3am and parked along the access road. Was able to get the cooler full of beer through security with a small bottle of JD as a bribe. New Rider of the Purple Sage opened and Jerry came out to sit in for a few.Marshall Tuck was up next and opened with "Can't You See". what a day. Truckin' as we walked back to the car. Wiped the fuck out!
I was there in my van with 8 others from Glen Cove Long Island Ny- we all dead heads, got rained out then the best long jams i’ve seen it of over 700 concerts!! Jams that played 40-50 minutes. Memories for a life time!!!!
I went to this show the day before it started with one of my good friends Tommy Buccareli ,. We had a 1970 VW convertible that we made sure to get on the road a day or two before the show so we'd have the ride. Getting there the afternoon before the show around 3-4 o'clock it wasn't too crowded yet but the raceway parking lot was way too small for the crowd coming in so they were parking all along the road. We started finding groups of people with 2-3 coolers and we'd take the coolers and one rider and drop them off at the front gates,. our fee was 1 beer apiece per cooler and of course one of anything else they might have been holding Kekeke. We did this until about 4 or 5 in the morning until I veered off into the woods from the side of the road and passed out. The next morning the place was Buzzing with people and I woke up still trippin from the night before and the first people I picked up redosed me to get me going for the day . What little security that was there had seen us doing this little taxi thing since the day before so we had the green flag to continue doing it. Once it was time to go in we parked up by the gate and walked down the fence about 50 yards to where everyone was hopping over. I stood in a circle with some guys and we passed around a very warm bottle of Jack Daniels that had been on somebody's dashboard until it was finished and we jumped over the fence about 20-30 yards away from the ticket entrance. I can still remember us yelling for them to play U.S. Blues and yelling out for Donna too who was a peach for sure back then. It was an awesome time and if you were there you know it was. P.S. 50th ,. No invite for Donna ,. that's sad.
Wasn't it cool? We had a chevy van, parked it the shoulder. Somebody thew a cinder block thru the side window. Man, twice, at two shows. F--k heads. The concrete stepped amphi theater had great acoustics! The marina was there, you could walk down the ramp to the docks. It was such a hot August, but the nights were those beautiful hot summer nights, with the breeze blowin' off the bay. hahaha now it is, "Society Hill". The people had to sign a release, they're on their own if they get cancer, etc, from the toxic waste site it's built on. Serves 'em right.
There should be a book with these stories. At the Memphis shows in 95 I was down on Beale St the night before the first show and at 5am my friends and I got a cab there were 6 of us and he could only take 5 so I told them to go ahead and I would find a ride not knowing I was 20 miles from the hotel and not enough money to get my own cab.I started walking and was going into a real bad part of the city and starting to get scared the only car I saw was coming down the road and I said a prayer to please help me.It ended up being two deadheads and they picked me up and gave me a ride all the way to the hotel. All I had on me was 20 hits so i gave it to them for the ride said thankyou and godbless and they went on there way.The next day at the show I found my way to my seat and to my suprise those two guys were sitting right in front of me and we enjoyed the show together and had a great time. Only at a dead show
Blake Whittington Only at a Dead show! 20 hits..that's just great! I post somewhere, Dead heads have THE best stories and you're right, Blake, there absolutely should be a book with these stories!!! Psst, hey Blake, wanna make a million bucks? It might be on the NYTimes Best Seller List...... I met,, what turned out to be a good friend, got to a show, I know it was fall, and nothing but pot from Hawaii. I saw this fellow and asked if he wanted to trade acid for some pot ( didn't even know if he had acid) he says, sure! Cool lmao we start talking and he told me he was an accountant and went to 1 dead show and never went back, he just kept tourin' with the band. He didn't look like no accountant. I thought it wz hilarious, 1 show and he never left. lmfao anyhow we wound up being really nice friends we only saw each other at the shows, not looking for each other but always finding one another and he always had great lsd, ROFL only at a Dead show
www.dead.net wants to hear the stories there is a place to submit on their page. they are planning a movie for the 50th to include some of these stories www.dead.net/grateful-dead-50th-anniversary-submissions?intcmp=home/carousel2
I was privileged to attend this show with family and friends just after graduating college, an incredible experience. I still can't believe that I can point to the CD and say it documents one of the highlights of my youth! This is BY FAR my favorite version of Eyes out of MANY! Exactly the right tempo - not rushed like later versions - just insanely creative playing by all, a delight. The funny thing is, we'd gotten into the band during their 1975 break and begun going to shows in 76, and back then I was constantly bemoaning how we'd missed out on Pigpen, the Wall of Sound, the early acid-fueled young firebrand phase... But in retrospect, they were at a creative peak then, with the Blues for Allah material, the new ScarletFire combo, the Terrapin Station songs - a great, jazzy Dead era with copious amounts of fantastic improvising that would be greatly reduced in later days. I mean, the show I had attended just before this one was Cornell! 1977 was definitely a creative peak...
Saw this show!! I got on the bus in 1970 at the Fillmore East in New York City, place was almost empty but the boys rocked till daylight anyway, acoustic and electric, been on the bus ever since...RIP Jerry you haven't been forgotten, not by a long shot, we miss you...One of the BEST Dead shows I've ever seen!!
My first Dead show in the 80's, I managed to get right up front at the start and I was so entranced that I didn't even look over my shoulder once. Then, when they busted into Eyes, I realized I should go and try and find my friends, so I turned around and was absolutely stunned to see the entire stadium of people just dancing away like crazy. Truly amazing. A moment I'll never forget.
sounds great on a Bose speaker.....how far we have come. One of Jersey's finest events. Even at 66 it seems just like yesterday. Come on back Jerry and sing a serenade!
I noticed there was a side of the audience that was tuned into Phil Lesh at the show "The Phil Side " . His love of improvisational Jazz and classical blends from greats like John Coltrane ,and Charles Ives fueled the Jamming to new levels always evolving , always changing his bass runs with Jerry. A good source for reading about this is the 2010 tome The Grateful Dead in Concert : Essays on Live Improvisation by CSU's Jim Tuedio. One of the book's essays is a piece by Shaun O'Donnell called '' American Chaos ''All The Jamming influences ...Peace
Man, I was at that show many moons ago, what a blast from the past. Its so awesome that you can hear these show now. The Dead were so cool about their recording live policy wish was fuck it let them do it and to actually have a section for people taping. I feel lucky to be there to experience the magic they made. People will be hearing this stuff for hundreds of years that's awesome.
Was at this show, my second. 1977 -- what a years for them! Three hour hike back to my car in the middle of the night and McDonalds on the NJ Turnpike with a bazillion other happy roaster-toasted Deadheads..ah to be twenty again.
This song is the bible for any jam band out there , my girlfriend asked me two days ago which melody of kind of music would describe me best and ill tell her this tune will do her just fine
sitting in a hospital ER waiting for these youngsters to show me to the cardiac care bed they say they're keeping me in tonight...I figure they'll get tired of me singing soon enough...
I was there, got there the day before, left the day after. Parked in a huge grass field outside the track, partied all night and rolled right up in front when the gates were busted open early on the morning of the show. Blazing hot!! We met up with friends, and might have been the only people who successfully snuck in two huge coolers full of ice cold tall boys. I still remember standing on top of one of those coolers during this awesome version of Eyes. Ahhhhh, to be twenty, tanned and trippin....
42 years ago today! What a day in my life ,fun sun rock and roll with lots of friends! What a strange trip it been 59 years old and still a head !!!peace love fun friends and rock and roll and don't forget the drugs !
I was there. While Tucker and NRPS were playing, I worked my way all the way to the front, by the time the boys started, i was as close as you could get. I was 17
I was a young stagehand for that show back then, got to see the band from JG’s side of the stage about 15 ft away . Even then it was a magical experience.
Even to this day, after 40+ years as a career audio pro and toured the world, This one show and especially this son is a shining memory, a pivotal moment that just maybe shaped my whole life working in entertainment.
Was there about 36 hours early...got a good spot really close to the stage. Hot as hell, and no water anywhere and no way to get out. A bucket came from nowhere just as I felt like passing out. A little while later they sprayed people down front with hoses. Saw many, many shows and this was one of the best.
My best Jerryemory is 1982 music mtn south fallsburg n.y..... Word can't do justice....hear it for yourself sometime.. One of if not my strongest suggested pieces of music/magic in time....truly!
Went to see the Marshall Tucker Band...they opened up with "Heard it in a Love Song". I passed out and woke up to find ...I am the eyes of the world...how awesome?!?
My favorite Dead song of all time. This is a great version. I love when they jam this song. I can listen to them play this song forever. Can't wait to get over the rainbow myself someday when everyone will be there. One long Acid Test. It will be great. Thanx for posting this.
Was there for this concert 40 years ago ! When they played looks like rain it started misting , a mystical experience . One of the best concerts for me with over 100,000 dead heads .
I was appox. 50 yards from the stage. What a show. The gates/fence was open or knocked down 4am the morning of the show. There was a sea of people running towards the stage. My friend had a tent that was demolished and my friend Sharon lost her Dr. Scholls sandels. The rest of the weekend is kind of a blur. So many people, it was unbelievable. At one point a woman in front of the stage was in labor so the announcer requested that everyone take 1 step back at the count of 3.Thats when the 49 yards of spectators in front of me were on my lap. Also the other 2 bands were New Riders of the Purple Sage and the Marshall Tucker Band. That was back in the day when 3 bands would play for 36 hrs Nowadays 25 bands will play in a 12 hr. period. The Dead jammed for hrs. One jam lasted 45 mins,no singing just a jam session.
I attended this show with my sister Mary and her then boyfriend Doc. Great show. Very beautiful song. Just graduated High School, what a way to start out.
love all the 70s versions of eyes. the jamming they do in the beginning is perfect. the one from dicks picks vol 18 is oh so sweet too. Jerry misses us all too guys. He wants us all to have a good time this July. he will be there. You all know it. We will all be channeling him all weekend. We love you jerry and miss you deeply.
It's funny that you say that, because every SINGLE time I hear this song, I end up with tears streaming down my face. I was at the beach a few years ago and some very nice woman came up to me, put her hand on my shoulder and said: "Are you ok?" because I was actually sobbing. Had my headphones on, so she had no idea. I said, "Have you ever heard something so perfect that it's almost unbearable?"
It's hard to believe it's been 25 years since you left us all. Miss you Jerome John "Jerry" Garcia. More than mere words can say. August 9, 1995 was the Day the Music Died for me and my generation. xoxo Mare Sobo & our son Dylan Jerome ..named after Bob D. and Jerry G.
Wow! Thanks for posting. This show which also featured New Riders of the Purple Sage and Marshall Tucker capped off a week long road trip I took down the skyline drive and onto the smokey mountains and back in time for this. A good time was had by all.
I was 16, my friends and I went from 2 days in the mountains doing peyote, directly to the show. I spent the day slowly working my way down to the stage while Tucker and NRPS played. By the time the boys came on I was right there. Do you remember "red hash, get you red hash"
I turned 14 on this day in '77. I was turned onto the Dead By my older sisters friend during the summer of 77. Saw them in philly in april of that year i believe it was. But couldn't get to this show.
1starcrown and Green Infastructure...yeah...totally feel this in my soul as well.... this song and The Band just bring up those deep, wonderful, warm, memories and feelings that melt my heart for all the times at shows. Nobody did it for me like 'the Dead. I'll never live like I did at their shows again.... Thanks you all.....
Had an unusual seat at this Englishtown concert! My friend and I took-off from work early and rented a private plane at a nearby town. The pilot flew us around the concert making numerous passes and continued-on by flying us around the concert area in big circles. The Englishtown Race Track venue was completely filled with fans. A record turn-out for Englishtown NJ for sure! Eventually we were kindly asked to leave the area by a security helicopter flying below. Got a good look (from the sky) at what amounted to be a small but very memorable part of the concert. After the show there were people walking all over the place for miles. My brother worked as a lifeguard at a local YMCA in the next town over called "Freehold New Jersey" and told me that deadheads were showing up asking to take showers. My brother being a major deadhead as well let them in to take showers. It was a very hot and humid day as I recall! Had a great time and will always remember that day and concert! Long live 1977 !
I missed that show because my dad thought it would be a good idea if I attended 'rush week' at Iowa State, the week before classes started. Me, fraternity material? What was he thinking? It was one of the most awkward weeks of my life. I swear I was born to the wrong parents.
This is the song that most captures the magic that is the Grateful Dead and almost always makes me cry with the joy of life ! Wow! Rock the fuck on Jerry!

Thanks for your comment Katie. I'll see if I can put up Estimated Prophet from this show; it's a great version...!
I'd love to hear it.
I know everyone has their own notion, but this song represents this band at their absolute peak. It's a masterpiece.

Those folks you call “older folks” may be younger than you are now. 😆
What a beautiful story. The band brought good vibes wherever they went.
anyone out there listening now to this song
there's more to the dead than just Touch of Grey that's obvious.

I was there. Best eyes and he's gone. Drove family woody station wagon. I think there were 9 people in the car. Didn't sleep for over 48 hours

I always think of that walk when I think of Englishtown!
Yep, I was there too. Parked on a lawn and made that long walk. But oh it was soo worth it...what day!
I was 13 and at this show, what an awesome intro to the rest of my life!
One of the greatest live performances by The Dead in my honest opinion.
I know right!!!!!
A top-contending date if I had a time travel machine...
The best version up to that particular date in time!!! Could only imagine the future to come
That whole east coast swing during the spring of 1977 was amazing.
And we were there! When life was simple. I was 17 and living without a care.....❤
The fascination of this song never ends for me. This is an excellent version because you can clearly hear Phil working his magic.
I was rhere and listening to it here I get to hear Phil in ways I couldn’t hear there.
Yes, another is the Great American Music Hall 75 one.. mandatory Lesh ear candy
Dick's Picks vol.15
The whole show is really, really great, 77 was a great year for the Dead.
+Diego Beretta en fuego
+Diego Beretta every year was a great year :D

@@Sleepy_Alligator fair enough, but it’s my favorite version of all time and you can’t argue with that

So we are the eyes of the world?
Wake up to find out that you are the ears of the universe.
And magnificent it is..
God, Jerry’’s playing is superb on this.
I went to this show, was one of the Dead's finest performances I had ever seen....First saw them at the Fillmore East in NYC in 1969..
Wow some amazing experiences you got to enjoy, this amazing once in a lifetime show and i'm sure the NYC show was just as amazing, so awesome you got to enjoy a show at the original FILMORE EAST, which is now sadly just a bank in the same building that hosted many magical nights
This music certainly makes me realize we don’t treat each other good enough.
Be the change you want to see in the world. Much love ❤
Skippy!
i was at this show, mini woodstock! it was incredible...dead, marshall tucker, new riders of purple sage...once in a lifetime kinda time, peace
Thanks for finally putting that into the perfect wording, rock on my friend!
well said!!
It's crazy how one show can change you from a casual fan to a complete freak :)
24/7/31 i was there NJ 77

Samantha Gelfand 8/6/74
Len Bellacicco unfortunately most of the crowd are yuppie selouts
Len Bellacicco why were there helis flying around though? And who exactly was using water cannons? The fire department?

***** fuck off
I was privileged to attend this show with family and friends just after graduating college, an incredible experience.
And then you woke up!
A moment I'll never forget.
eyes of the world is musicl utopia...jerry was sent from heaven....what beautiful musical cords from garcia
Only Jerry could jam like this with only two cords. Think about it....two cords.
Greatest "Eyes of the World" EVER.
Frank Scurato Try NJ live 1974...thank me later
8/6/74 perfect version
sounds great on a Bose speaker.....how far we have come.
I was there... 40 years ago today!
I was there and found a giant bag of ludes. What a day!!!!!!
That’s excellent man! Phil just rips in this version
Me too!!
BlissedMiss1 Also my 2nd show and I was 20. Don't know how I found my car, but I did. Great, great show.
I love people like this that have 700 subs and 280k views. Thank You!!!

This song is the bible for any jam band out there , my girlfriend asked me two days ago which melody of kind of music would describe me best and ill tell her this tune will do her just fine
Hard to believe this was 47 years ago.. Saw this show, RIP Rob, Vic & Fritz..
2020 and it still sounds rich

HOPE THE HAPPY STICKS WITH YA, BTW I KNOW A MEACHAM...HER NAME IS LINDA FROM BUENA PARK CA. ANY RELATION?
Raceway park was a half mile through the woods on union hill

Nice
I was there. While Tucker and NRPS were playing, I worked my way all the way to the front, by the time the boys started, i was as close as you could get. I was 17
There are no Words to defy A Dead Show. I haven't visited a show since Jerry's passing, I must say We Miss You Jerry!!!
defy or define a Dead Show?
Lol. I'm not a spell check guy .
I was a young stagehand for that show back then, got to see the band from JG’s side of the stage about 15 ft away . Even then it was a magical experience.
You rock, David. Glad you got
To experience that. Cheers.
Saw many, many shows and this was one of the best.
arrived in a u-haul van with 8 of us,,,watched the fence get torn down....and went right right in... 2 days later....made it home.... luv the 70's
My best Jerryemory is 1982 music mtn south fallsburg n.y.....
Word can't do justice....hear it for yourself sometime..
One of if not my strongest suggested pieces of music/magic in time....truly!
Jerry is absolutely smokin here
I believe I was present for this. I was 16, and my BF Donnie and I drove from Wilmington. Awesome show. Beautiful day, and this perfect performance.
Went to see the Marshall Tucker Band...they opened up with "Heard it in a Love Song". I passed out and woke up to find ...I am the eyes of the world...how awesome?!?
I was there!!! Best Eyes ever.
This show was my Woodstock.
My favorite dead song in concert. Brings a smile to my face every single time!
i remember reading that phil says about this show "This was the big one that we didn't fuck up"
Was at this show! Such great memories................................
I was there too What a grate time Fantastic weekend :)
i was there
remember this song well.. The sun just started to set.. My 1st Dead show at 14.. I was hooked..
I was lucky enough to be there for this amazing day !!! I have never forgotten- thank you for posting 😘
Always puts me in a great mood. One of the best, if not the best GD song
One jam lasted 45 mins,no singing just a jam session.
mid to late 70's dead had a such a groove to it..love 77
I attended this show with my sister Mary and her then boyfriend Doc. Great show. Very beautiful song. Just graduated High School, what a way to start out.
love all the 70s versions of eyes. the jamming they do in the beginning is perfect. the one from dicks picks vol 18 is oh so sweet too. Jerry misses us all too guys. He wants us all to have a good time this July. he will be there. You all know it. We will all be channeling him all weekend.
We love you jerry and miss you deeply.
My first Dead show 9-3-77 Englishtown, what a day!
Such a great tune. Always makes me super happy and ready to dance
Youre super cool!
My first Dead show!
Me Too :)
It's hard to believe it's been 25 years since you left us all. Miss you Jerome John "Jerry" Garcia. More than mere words can say. August 9, 1995 was the Day the Music Died for me and my generation. xoxo Mare Sobo & our son Dylan Jerome ..named after Bob D. and Jerry G.
the kinda smooth smooth crunch that makes your feet move!
I absolutely love this song! My favorite version!
oh thank you this version brought me to tears alright god bless, love and peace to all
I just got out of navy boot camp and went to this show 1week later one of the best memories in my life and road trip
fantastic music I love to groove too
The BEST Dead show I ever saw...
Still my favorite Dead song. On the bus since '82
I turned 14 on this day in '77. I was turned onto the Dead By my older sisters friend during the summer of 77. Saw them in philly in april of that year i believe it was. But couldn't get to this show.
I was 16 and I remember it like yesterday.
+Jack Kane I was 16 as well. Amazing introduction to the Dead Live.
Best EYES ever hands down!!
Was in attendance!! Awesome show, very wild day!
They absolutely crushed it on this version, wow!
Wow! Rock the fuck on Jerry!
this was my first Dead Show. and this is my favorite song of all time.
what a day, would love to live it again!
