Elite QB Kirk plays same as Burrow in regular season and playoffs. #4 Offensive Line best Offensive Line Kirk has ever had. Legit #1 players at WR TE RB CB DT FS plus solid players CB SS DE DT. An OC who uses the type of offense Kirk likes plus Kirk also is a gameplanner at QB. Not sure about the DC and what input Raheem will have. 4 high day 1 and 2 picks. Terry has a solid record in 1st round and later picks. Owner who wants to win. Oddsmakers have made ATL #6 in NFC behind SF DET DAL PHI GB and #9 in NFL at 10.5 wins.

I am a Falcons fan, the defense felt like a one year wonder with all the 1 year contracts they had last year. The DC from last year is no longer with team. Offensive line was good with the run game, but was average at best in the pass game. Kyle Pitts didn’t look like himself last season coming off a serious knee injury. The automatic kicker Koo looked shaky last season.
Don't forget that last year David Raggone was OC

Thanks for stating the major flaw on this team for the last 3 years. HC/OC. Always hated the Arthur Smith hire. These last 3 years were positively throw away years. A absolute waste. Arguably, the worst 3 year span in Falcon history. Glad it’s over. Honestly speaking. For the 1st time in 3 years. I’m actually looking forward to the upcoming season.

I think why the culture seems so hit or miss is because we've had many really good teams that underperformed. Sometimes players fault some times coaching and front office. There hasn't been a real team identity that lasts.
This is a good podcast and as a Falcon I wanted Kurt to start but Matt was in the way.
If the Falcons fall short next season it will be the defense. There’s holes at key positions; defensive end, corner. Need those to hit in the draft or this is going to be fantasy dream for the offense.
Edge yes; corner no. They have AJ Terrell, Clark Phillips III, Dee Alford, Mike Hughes, and a few other role guys. They could add to the room, sure but it's not a major hole. The defense was basically the same in the secondary from last year besides Okudah who was benched at the end of the season for Phillips.
I believe atl corner room is very solid and deep. I do feel like adding true cb2 would put this secondary over the top. But guys like Clark and Dee Alford are extremely underrated and I trust them to do their jobs well
@@mmll8102 that's the way I see it. Now there's some day 2 and 3 corners I really like. Jarrian Reed and Khyree Jackson being a couple, but I like the corner room as is. I wouldnt be terribly mad if we got Quinyon Mitchell or Arnold in the 1st but I think there are better players at #8 than them.

As a Viking fan, highly unlikely that Cousins will make you a contender. After two seasons, I wanted him gone - I could tell he wasn't going to be the difference maker to get the team to the Super Bowl. One playoff win, 10-24 record against winning teams as a Viking. Cousins career record against winning teams is 16-47....not good. He may get you talking a possible Wildcard spot but that's probably it. If I'm wrong, I will be happy for Atlanta.

Your Vikings also can’t draft. Look at the classes from 2018 to now. They’ve missed on just about every pick. JJ and Darrisaw are elite and Addison looks like he will be too but the draft classes were overall horrible. And let’s be Honest, Zimmer was holding that team back.

Falcons fans want a Super Bowl win we not trynna hear all that one two playoff win stuff. Winning the division should be automatic given the NFC South is depleted so now is the time to make the run once the Saints come back we’re gonna be in the same place all over again, fighting to even make the playoffs.
Bijan and Algier the only ones on the offense (not counting Oline) that have proven themselves everyone else is showing potentially mid until they show us otherwise. This year will show us everything we need to know about the pieces we have

Well, Vegas thinks so. After the news broke that Kirk was signing with the Falcons, Sportsbooks moved the Falcons to 30/1 to win Super Bowl 2025 after opening at 50/1 prior. Atlanta now has the 12th-best odds to win the Lombardi Trophy.
One has to be extremely dumb to seriously think that wins are a QB stat. It's the ultimate team game. Wins are team accomplishments. Btw...Kirk is 1-3 in the playoffs as a starter (not 1-4)....smh

The Vast Majority of People prefer narratives to reality. This is a narrative. In reality, Cousins & Goff are identical. They will throw blindly to where a receiver is _supposed to be_ with 100% confidence & both fall to pieces when asked to think on their feet when plays are broken. Both got play-callers that tailored their offenses to them.
Except we don't know that Cousins has this in ATL. So without that, he will simply become what he was _before_ the Vikings, a guy who puts up good numbers except when needed. There's a difference between Cousins who can't elevate & even Derek Carr who _could have_ won with this team had Arthur Smith not been calling plays & that's saying a lot.
They say the same about Matt Stafford too and he didn’t have any playoff wins 🤷♂️ I’m not saying the Falcons are Super Bowl contenders but to sell them short without seeing the draft and seeing this Falcons team play is just stupid.
I'm just saying that the comments from the analysis that talked about the vikings said that Cousins could never win in primetime or in the playoffs. They always hated on him as a viking.

That "record against winning teams" was also when he was on a Washingteam that had a bad defense and no running game and a Minnesota team that had a bad defense for most of his time there. He's 4-4 with KOC as his coach, btw.
Per OptaSTATS, Cousins was the first quarterback in NFL history to throw for 700 or more yards on a 70 percent completion rate over the first two games of a season….and his team lost both times. Yeah...the quarterback isn't the problem.

They're flinging $ at the problem. They're over-paying anyone & everyone. The Ravens still have a better roster & Lamar has better everythings than Cousins. Sometimes, a simple comparison like that ends the discussion & any confusion.
The Vikings were simply not that good. I think the entire roster is overrated and you'll see that once Cousins is gone. He and JJ were the entire offense. Plus, the NFC South is so ass. Super bowl hell no, but a playoff game and possibly a playoff win is far from out of the question.

Didn’t even watch the video. I’m a Vikings fan and I remember feeling they were contenders after they went to the NFC championship game with Keenum and then added Kirk. They didn’t make the playoffs the next year with basically the same team. He’s only won 1 playoff game in his career.
He’s a good QB but your team better be perfect around him if you want to even sniff a SB. The Falcons have some pieces but they aren’t perfect. They should be happy if they can get 1 playoff win, ecstatic if they get any further. Good luck paying him 180 million 😂 (100 ish guaranteed)
Teams are never exactly the same from year to year. Cousins played well for them, that is basically inarguable. His line in that first season was 70% completion, 4200 yards, 30 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. If you put up numbers like that and your team is still bad, it is mostly the team's fault. 2017 was a very strange year in the NFL too, those Keenum Vikings probably didn't belong in the postseason. I don't believe Kirk will take the Falcons to the Super Bowl, but he instantly makes them SO MUCH better. The fanbase wants at least the playoffs and hopefully a playoff win, and I think he can deliver that if things fall into place.

Falcons went to the Super Bowl brought everyone back the next year and lost in the first round to Philadelphia your logic is skewed by your fandom.
