Amira was 11, here; her father was playing the organ; her brother was the violinist, her mother (who had forgotten her glasses, and could not read the music) was having difficulty playing the recorder. She's singing in Spanish, and totally immersed in the music. Watch the chorist in the top right-hand corner . . .
Amiras strong breathing ability is enhanced by the fact Amira was an accomplished long distance runner at this age.
Some try to compare her to others, that's opinion only, so mine opinion is she is unmatched in the power she brings , the clarity of her voice and her unique tone, she's is most definitely one of a kind. Can't get enough
I totally agree with you. I love all of Amira's songs,but this one and "Your Love" in particular, put her in a class that is beyond reach of anybody else that I've heard. She just boggles the mind. I just wish I'd known about her in her earlier years. Only went down this rabbit hole about two months ago. Saw her in a thumbnail while checking for something else and she hooked me. The rest is history!

Never tire of this girl. Listen all day every day. This should be enough to stop all violence and hatred. Shows how far we as a society have fallen not to recognize miracles. Even at 9 years old no way is it normal to have a voice like this with 0 effort.

Totally agree with you! This is a phenomenon that is beyond our understanding.
One quick comment on Amira. It appears to me that the reason she can put so much emotion into her singing is that she doesn’t have to think about what notes she needs to sing, as she knows that what notes come out will automatically be correct.
It is just such natural voice control., so she’s not thinking “ I must hit this note or that “. That’s already been taken care of, so She can concentrate on the emotional side.

Natural talent. Don’t need mouth gymnastics to produce a pleasing sound. Don’t need specific breathing training to be comfortable singing. It just flows out of them. Even at 11 she has not had much training yet.
This is Amira just 2 years after winning HGT and you can clearly 'hear' her improvement in her performance AND her 'confidence'. Its crucial to note that Amira is being accompanied only by mainly an organ (which I understand is being played by her dad). Singers'performers like Amira have this 'thing' where they simply go to a place only they know when they sing. If you watch Amir's eyes at approx 3.00, you can clearly see this. Then, at the end, you see Amira 'come back' and she offers that lovely smile of hers. She really IS something else and I wish her all the very best in her future life. Tc Amira Willihagen.

I agree! There is no other singer of Ave Maria by Gomez. Sung by Amira Willighagen when she was 11 at Christmas in church that comes even close to this performance. Her timing, sings from the heart, pitch perfect, volume increase in latter part & sings the humming part with open mouth (so it blends with the song volume perfectly). WOW! ❤

Whatever Amira sings and it doesn't matter how many times I hear it, it's as though I am hearing her for the first time, fabulous. Doesn't happen with other singers, she is unique.

She opened her eyes at the end of her beautiful song and it was like she was sayin, "Oh, there are people here!?!". She was so into this. .. I Mio Bambino Caro with Andre' Rieu is a must reaction! Also The Holy City with just her Father playing piano. 2018 I think.

I was following Amira before I found Angelina. Yes, their styles are certainly different. They have many things in common. They are both very tender-hearted, philanthropic, humble, hardworking and absorbed into their music. I'm sure I missed some, but you and others can add to the list. 🤠

Yes, you can tell: something was happening in that church. So special. I am following Amira, and time after time she amazes me. And when you like: take a look at Jadyn Rylee (15 years of age now) from Canada. Is a completely different genre but she is as amazing as Amira is.

Ave Maria - Gounod sung in Iceland at Christmas 2015., O Mio Babbino Caro sung in full with Andre RIeu in 2014 at the age of 10 just 7 months after winning Holland's Got Talent. Another performance that will leave you stunned.
Amira was a surprise performer not listed on the program. She performed that one number 2 times, once on Friday then on Saturday in front of almost 15,000 people each night. Standing ovation with much of the audience left in tears. Make sure you select Andre Rieus channel post. The best sound and visuals. Would love to hear your comments on that performance and the differences in just a few months. Amira is amazing. Amira and Angelina and you have to consider the third A, Alma Deutscher pianist, violinist and composer. You could also watch Duet of The Stepsisters from Almas' Opera Cinderella. The three As. Maybe it has something to do with Cosmic Alignment by all this young talent springing forth is just amazing.

I am kind of addicted to Amira's singing , but I realise now that it goes for your reaction on her as well , because of your professional view I get the feeling of being taken by the hand and led through this adventure that is named Amira . By watching your video's I have learned what to look for and where to listen to. But above all , your emotions that are being triggered during the sessions are priceless !! And I can tell that it is interactive , because it triggers mine as well. So it was really enoying that your last reaction on her "Holland's got Talent" version of " O mio Babbino " was blocked for The Netherlands due to copyright issues probably , so I couldn't comment. I have managed to avoid that blockade though , but to comment was not an option. Since you'd like to know what video you want to be recomended , here's a suggestion I'd like to make . It's the full version aria of "O mio Babbino Caro" she did on june 2014 ( 10 years old then was she ) with André Rieu and his Johan Strauss orchestra on the "Het Vrijthof " square in Maastricht The Netherlands with more than 15000 attenders not including those standing in the surrounding streets. That this video has allready more over 51 million viewers on RUclips is telling, because it is a "must see". I understand this Ave Maria by Gomez is not that old. Maybe about 20 plus years ago, A comment left in the original performance of this one, was from Gomez brother. He stated that his Brother had wrote it just before he past away around 2000. He also, stated his brother would have loved to hear Amira sing this song. I believe Amira finds the meaning of the songs before she sings them and then gets you to feel the song with her. To many young people that sing this kind of music sing the words, but do not know what they mean. One example is one that did we'll for herself and sang O Mio Babbino Caro at 9 and I saw video clip of her singing the same song at 12 or 13 on some kind of morning show. The host told her how beautiful and then asked if she knew what it meant. Her answer was no. I will not name the singer, I don't like to do that. I believe with Amira she has the words translated into a language she knows, so she knows what it is about. This one she knows Ave Maria is a prayer. I have heard many version and just thought it was just beautiful music. It was not tell Amira I found out, that it was a prayer. That is why some sounded better than others, knowing the meaning. This performance with her family made it more special. Even with the mix up with Mom. If my kid sounded like that I would have been nervous and still at aw what her voice produced. Now I heard also, that they found out, that a Grandfather or great Grandfather did sing Opera. I believe from the Moms side. Maybe it rubbed off. Also, her running marathons early on helps with the lungs. Great reaction to Amira. All songs are special, don't feel bad to work your way up. I enjoy all the new has much as the older performances. This whole concert is quite wonderful - Her Ave Maria in the HGT is also quite stunning. Her growth from 1st audition to the semi-finals is incredible. The notes she hits are other worldly at times. I just really like listening to your comments - Makes my day. Thanks.
I agree. You really need to see both the semi final Ave Maria, and her Final, Nesum Dorma. They are indeed outstanding as you can the clear progression of her growing talent. Especially since she had lessons after her audition. Her semi final, Ave Maria version, is still my favourite.

Valerie: You might want to review Amira Willighagen singing, "Ave Maria" in Lecce, Italy - Dec. 16, 2016. Amira was 12 then. Many say it's her finest performance of "Ave Maria," if that's possible. I greatly admire all her versions but each one has its unique quality and calming beauty.

The lady to her left rear is her mother, Frieda. To Frieda's left is Amira's brother, Fincent (Vincent in English.) A lot of what Amira is, is due to her family, and their support. And she supports them.

Hi Valerie from Australia. On Sunday my wife and I had our neighbours in for a BBQ. Weeks earlier at one of theirs I had told them about Amira and furnished them with a USB key of a number of her performances to view. Apart from loving Amira I solemnly believe her Nessun Dorma @ ruclips.net/video/imsX4ZanQJs/видео.html [Pretoria, South Africa Dec 2017 @ 13 years] is superior to Luciano Pavarotti's. On this occasion the wife begged to differ which I respected. Lucianno for me has no stage craft for he simply stands there motionless and sings. Andrea Bocelli has an excuse because he is blind. Even then in his duet's with Sarah Brightman she shows him immense affection which endears them to their audience. On the other hands Amira is deeply focused on and lives this song. Look at her facial expressions and the fact that she closes eyes as she sings which brings emphasis. The song is her. She brings so much emotion that often she tears your heart open and causes the tears to flow. Either way I feel Amira's voice is simply the best on the planet because of the power she brings, the highness of the pitch she achieves, the control she exerts and her clarity of delivery. Amira doesn't simply have fans as they all really love her. I would love you to react to this performance by her and give your thoughts as to whether she is in fact the best of all time.

I found an unstructured version of Amira Willighagen on RUclips singing NESSUN DORMA. ruclips.net/video/A-b-fDrkUT8/видео.html. It appears to be filmed without an orchestra, and I can only guess it is in a dressage arena at some sort of luncheon/party. There was no introduction, and the lighting is cut off about halfway through the performance. Watch Amira fight back and finish strong. I love this about her.

She once said the hardest thing she ever did was sing in Italian before an Italian audience. I think it was one of her best performances, a little unexpected miracle like Gomez Ave Maria you just did.

I sent her an email to let her know that her God Given Voice was directly responsible for my five year recovery from bi-polar depression. I have many suggestions for your reaction. Hi. I am missing your reaction to the Angelina Jordan's cover of ALL I ASK by Adele, just released a few days ago.
Oh, and while I'm thinking about it, you have several times mentioned her breath control. In this video, she is winning the "Leemkull Cross Country Race: on 19 Jan 2014, a few months after she won Holland's Got Talent, and, as I'm sure you know, breathing control is a very large part of racing.

I have heard more recent live recordings of her, and unfortunately she has lost a lot of the amazing qualities her voice had a few years ago.
In the video we see here, her voice is spinning, brilliant, has great resonance, a fantastic and spinning vibrato, great tonal qualities that show a lot of dome in her resonance.
Now she sounds very different. Her vibrato is MUCH slower, on the verge of wobbling. The sound has less dome, less shimmer and spin, less brilliance, less resonance.
I wonder why that happened. This performance here is simply stunning. And it sounds so natural and effortless.
Sadly, I have a agree. I think she stated to sing more popera and not true opera. The vibrato is like a boiling pot of water, you have to allow it in, it can't be forced. I'm guessing her teacher is the cause of the change. It's too bad. She could have trained in opera and pop if she had a teacher who could help her keep the styles straight.
@@VocalSplendorStudiosI remember famous American contralto Marilyn Horne telling about her own singing when she was young. And her father have her the crucial advice that she had a natural, intuitive vocal placement and that she should never let a teacher mess around with that natural placement. And I believe it's similar with Amira. At this stage of her life she did so many things intuitively right. Her voice is just streaming out of her, no inhibition in that phonation, great use of resonance and formant frequencies, portamento, everything is naturally set up to sing. She shows singing qualities that most singers struggle their entire career achieving, and she just had it. With the right guidance she would have been able to become an impactful and world class classical singer. There are quite a few other very young kids singing classically pretty well. But THIS is far beyond them all.

Ich würde mir vielleicht mal ihr Video von diesem Jahr 2023 ansehen bei dem Sie, nur begleitet von einer Orgel, die ihr Vater spielt, „Gesu Bambino“ singt. Eine schöne Aufnahme, sie hat noch ihren Mantel an und es sieht so aus, als wenn man sie nur mal so schnell gebeten hätte, etwas zu singen.

Yes, but check out AVE MARIA by Jackie Evancho at age 10, DREAM WITH ME album... and again at age 13 recording for AWAKENING album.... the other AVE MARIA. One is Schubert, the other is ...um... Brahms?.... I forget now. Live or album cuts.. all are online.
Jackie Evancho is also a great young classical singer. But I believe Amira is at a different (higher) level.

I first want to say Jackie did good for herself and I did purchase that cd and 2 others when I first discovered Amira. Jackie was ok to me. But once Amira's cd arrived I could not listen to Jackie. She is good, but not my taste. I gave the CDs away after two plays each. Amira I play everyday. That's because she hits my heart. Before Jackie I would listen to Charlotte Church again. With Amira that will not happen anytime soon.

she is more similar to Willingham. I am not big on opera, but an aria here and there is OK. I prefer adult singers for many reasons. But do find wunderkind talent to often be interesting as to HOW they do what they do . In the complex music and approach that Angelina Jordan shows for more Jazzy stuff, at age 7 through 12, it was especially interesting. Easier to listen to , even if not a jazz freak, as I am not. It is the emotional delivery that is uncanny. Emanne is very good, but way more operatic styling than is Evancho...whose Crossover sound is much more appealing to me from back then. Healing.
@@yousurf374 I love Angelina Jordan too! Both, Angelina and Amira are top young singers today. Each on its own different type of music (popular versus classical). Comparisons between them are unfeasible (meaningless) because they are singers of completely different types of music. Both are equally excellent in the type of music they sing.
I heard all performances of Emanne Beasha. Very good. Another Amira on the making? We'll see.
An older singer that I personally like a lot is Glennis Grace. She has been invited to special commemorations for Whitney Houston's death ( her voice has an incredible similarity with Whitney).
