A Review: The Butterfly Lovers

“The Butterfly Lovers” is often considered a tragic and enduring tale of forbidden love, societal norms, and the power of love beyond death.
Here is a video sharing of the highly popular folktale, combined with my commentary and review. At different points, I have added in some short clips that were taken by me at different places in China, including Beijing, Shanghai, Xi'an, Hangzhou and Harbin. I have also stolen 2 clips from RUclips, the first one being from a 1980s Chinese film and the second one being of Karen Chen skating on ice.
