      Never since has there been a game that made me feel like I fought on the frontlines in a war as MoH: Frontline or Rising Sun. None since Battlefield 1.
      All three of those games showed how brutal war could be, with Battlefield 1 being the pinnacle of that experience.
      I wish three was a revival of these kinds of war games, ones that would sometimes show that war isn't all the fun and games, or getting killstreaks like how CoD wants us to think.

    I'll always remember going up the stairs, seeing the sailor get shot down by Japanese Zeros, getting topside, and seeing the scale of the map and the attack as a kid. Having the sergeant hand you a BAR and screaming "Snap out of it! Snap out of it!" Medal of Honor used to be a work of art. This was also one of the first FPS games I saw that didn't glorify war and made you actually stop to think about the actual events of what was portrayed in the game. At the end of the level, you and your buddy are celebrating for living through the attack, only for the sergeant to scold you and make you look at the carnage of the battle while he says "I hope NONE of you ever see a day like this again."
    Medal of Honor helped me get really into learning about WWII and history in general.

      Had a personal connection to the opening mission . My great grandfather was there and he made sure to tell us about that horrendous day, he told us that he knew something was very wrong the second he saw the big red meatball on the side of those planes. He told us how he couldnt understand the Japanese pilots smiling and waiving while strafing them . Told us about the aftermath being told to pick up body parts and how he could still smell the burnt flesh of his brothers. I was no older than 5 when he told me about this and it's never left. I realize why he told us about it. He was invited after the war to Washington and pearl for the survivor ceremonies but he only went once. It was simply too much for him to relive . It took a toll on him like the rest who survived. Unfortunately for him his war didn't end there he zig zagged around the Pacific dodging kamikaze planes and sharks when the ship he was on was sunken later on in the war.

    Gggmanlives, DWTerminator, and other reviewers who bashed the game (A.K.A PC fanboys) can go heck themselves. To me, Rising Sun is the best Medal of Honor game ever made. It's got everything! Old-school gameplay, exploration, cheats, challenge, a stealth mission where you steal a uniform and wear it just like in previous MoH games, no hand holding, 2 Player Co-Op, multiplayer VS, and AI bots in the multiplayer. Also, you ride an Elephant in the campaign mode. Such an underrated Medal of Honor game. Graphics shouldn't matter at all, I mean come on. I'm sick and tired of seeing comments talking about how a game looks and such. If someone doesn't like the game, that's their opinion, but they shouldn't go saying that nobody should play it.

    its sad to say that this was one of the most realistic depictions per se of the attack in any game of its time. The only issue is the flak when you finally reach 01 deck on the bear. The only capital ships that managed to get a considerable amount of AA fire up was the Maryland, Tennessee, Arizona (for a brief time) and Nevada.

      It's one of the most realistic because there's not many depictions to choose from in games - period. lol

    The ship appearing at 13:07 is the USS Neosho, an oil carrier which was at Pearl Harbour on the day of the attack; her captain moved her into a safer area of the port.
    It was very accurate for the devs to put her into the level, many don't remember her presence during the attack

    Has anyone ACTUALLY been able to shoot down 75 planes in the 2nd mission (Pearl Harbor) in order to complete both bonus objectives? The highest I ever got was 67 planes destroyed.

    • @Sir_Goodwrench
      @Sir_Goodwrench 7 лет назад +7

      Just took down EXACTLY 75 after trying for like 2 hours. Took me over 10 tries if not more. On one of them I got 72, and two others were 73s, so that was irritating. Now my finger is in pain, heh.
      It's very difficult, but doable. Setting turn speed a little higher helped.

      I had already unlocked ALL in this game (videos, characters for multiplayer mode, codes, etc), except the damn medal of that stage because I could not in any way achieve this bonus objective. A few years ago, after suffering a few days, I managed to accomplish this feat and finally complete 100% of the game.

    The song that plays at 1:46 may as well be the theme song for "Three's Company". In all honesty, the lyrics just sound like scat singing, which (according to Wikipedia) is "vocal improvisation with wordless vocables, nonsense syllables or without words at all." And in the scene where you hear it in the background radio/P.A. speaker, it just sounds like it's being looped.... which makes me believe it's just a made-up soundclip, just for this scene......... and thus, isn't necessarily part of a real song.
