Out of all your Dojos, this is by far my favorite Paul. Keep up the great work and thank you.
Thanks Steve! :)
This is awesome. Great video, I like these techniques. Thanks for sharing👍
Just BEAUTIFUL. I'm learning.
Great video. Thanks for posting.
Working outside is good. It changes how the footworks feels! The woods in my back yard is my fave, right now that’s N.E. Ohio.
Another favorite of mine. Thanks Paul.
Great video! Awesome background! That is a real dojo for training.
Thanks Greg. It's one of my favorite spots right now!
Great drill as always, Paul!!! Thank you
Thanks for watching!
Thanks. Just got my first Filipino blade. This video helps a lot with the basics.
Nice! Enjoy that blade 👍🏻
Terrific video, thank you. I train like you, out in the woods completely alone.
Love that drill! Very nice! What the music track you are using?? One of the best audio tracks I've heard.
Looking forward to my training sword to arrive so I can work this
It should be arriving soon!
Nice drill, thanks for sharing, Paul. Going to include that one in my next session👍. I for one like to do my training at some river banks down at the river Thur. Beautiful landscape, alpine setting plus demanding terrain for footwork training. Everything from sandy to rocky - but there are also wide-ranging meadows nearby, it's pretty awesome. Usually I combine the whole thing with an 8 km run (yep, metric system, sry pal😉).
Thanks! I train with my sticks in the rocky backyard.
BEAUTIFULLY DONE MY FRIEND!!!!!
Thank you
I love practice in the beach or jungle. is where I live!! thanks for all this videos I am learning a lot with.
Excellent, thank you very much. I love to train at a heavily wooded park with a big lake in the middle close to my home 😸
Nice! Sounds like a great spot :)
Always gotta work those basics, Love it. I live in WA state, so I train on the beach and in the woods, sometimes both at the same time.
Those are great training spots!
Cool video, could you do a video on creating windows of attack for penetrating defences
My favorite training spot is at the Jefferson Barracks Park. I do train at the Veteran's Memorial Amphitheater, that is located outside at the park.
do a ''pt2'' w/ a training partner, (or at least a human-target-dummy), so we can see 1) targeting, and 2) grab&slash, grab&stab, 3) puno to teeth, neck, throat, temples, at close range, also 4) your ginunting is correct length for deep-thrusts to heart from Peripheral Entry Points to heart, at biting-grappling-range, ie, downward thrust from collar-area, upward thrust from pelvis area, to heart
Amazing, BTW I'm the first to see this 😊😊 and I'll be training this tonight
Sadistic Sam ha! You beat me to it
Right on my friend! :)
You have great technique. Up the speed bro
Ohh thx for this I love this I just bought myself a lord of the rings blade so I can exercise whit it
Wow this is what I'm looking for fullest of sword flow
They put me in the art college and I practiced five hours a day under tress on a large flat area. Everyone left me alone because it was art. Right over yonder from the spot was a system of creeks and redwood forest with wild orchids! I camped out in the forest without a tent, under a tarp and fasted for 45 days.
cool story bro...
Had me in the first half
Thanks sir
I like training in the woods by the Mississippi River.
These are some basic but AWESOME drills! I spent a ton of time with these my first year. The coordination was a bit tricky for a few months when i started adding footwork in but if you put the HOURS in, these will make you totally look like you know what you're doing 🤣! These are fundamental, but all higher techniques are based on the basic fundamentals. Get'em down without footwork till you can do them in your sleep, then intro some triangular footwork. I like to do these in my livingroom, cause you never know where you'll have to use this stuff, and it teaches you some awareness of where your weapon is. I've broken a few things and scuffed up my cieling a bit which my wife doesn't appreciate too much, but it's worth it. I started these back in 2014 when you introduced them in this video:

Awesome video!
Cool!
I love the forest but I only trained in a forest a few times, with a friend who was used to it... I should try to find a peaceful place in the forest, where I'm not going to scare random people xD thanks for the tips and the videos! You got a new subscriber
Thanks for watching and sub👍🏻
i am also kali practitioner.
i just wanna say Nice.
I hope to see you at ITC 2018 (Instructor Training Camp) June 27-July 1 at the majestic Black Hills of South Dakota. Get more info here: www.kalicenter.com/itc2018.html
Nice
On your dvd downloads which dvd download do I need to buy? Can you please give me the title of the dvd download? Thank you
Nice 👏👏👏👏
:)
Our training place is just near a river bank, natural challenge for a footwork,
That is a great dojo!
We come from Jamaica. We have a bobsled team!
With chucks I can see a spin or double spin, with a straight stick or sword it seems like wasted time. Time that a trained person would take advantage of. The variation of short, to med to long strikes also puzzles me, some of the really short figure 8's and reverse would be totally ineffective unless the opponent were right up on you. Basics are fine done with consistency and purpose of thought. Chucks will build more speed and make your straight stick forms flow better with uniformity.
What I show on RUclips is far different from what I teach in my programs and in person. ;)
Where do you live sir?

Are there any ways to parry in Kali, sword vs sword?
Kawa777 same way you do with stick. You can also parry with the opposite angle (backhand vs forehand) or the same angle (look up "riding the arms").
Pekiti Tirsia?
Aspire Zone- 🇶🇦
In my country if I was to train in the woods with a sword I'd be in prison really fast
I train in my driveway, the only place I can be safe from police interference
only gripe i got here paul is your wikitiks are so flat. they provide zero effective cutting power. you need to align that edge. i have said this before over in KCC and even demoed it in video there.
Morgan Garrett I can't see what you mean, all I see is Lobtiks. Maybe we have a difference in terminology between our systems. Can you put that link here? I'm interested in what you mean by "flat"
hey thanks. this was a discussion i started over at Kali center community page on Facebook. with a stick doing wikitik or lobtik it does not matter what part of the stick you hit with because it is a round baton object. but if you are using a tool with edge geometry and you are preforming a wikitik or lobtik and want too actually cut with it you need to present the edge and not hit with the flat of the blade....so when paul is doing the technique here in this video he would be slapping his opponent with the flat of his blade not preforming a cut. for me in a blade art, edge presentation and cutting is paramount too each and every technique preformed.
paul is a awesome practitioner, and this was just a chance for me to throw some verbal judo his way...but he and I have already had this discussion on other forums, so its all good.
Morgan Garrett Ahhhhh. I see. You mentioned your style is normally blade, which style do you come from, Pekiti? I do a blend of Kali Silat called Silent Warrior.
