I'm working on crv for a few years best thing to prevent warping is to heat it up to hardening temperature and let it rest for 8 hours and then heat it up and rest again and third time the heat treatment

Nice tip about not putting knives into the forge flat. So obvious when Jake explained it. Also liked the chitchat section, it's good to learn a bit more about the maker.
I'm curious about the Cubitron-IIs. I've tried them on my little 1x30 and they cut like crazy to start with but seem to get dull very fast, faster than other ceramic belts I've tried. I've read they need a good amount of pressure to make the grain fracture so they stay sharp but if I put much pressure on the blade my 1x30 just stalls.

Thanks Rob. There’s more of that new Chit Chat section that I intend to do for all future makers because like you said, it’s great to know about other things from these really interesting makers we have!
With regards to the Cubitron II belt (or any belt for that matter), they may not be lasting longer than they are supposed due to a number of factors: (1) shelling - happens when too much pressure is applied and you end up ‘chipping off’ the grain (2) glazing - happens when you don’t apply enough pressure and causes too much friction that the metal loads onto the belt. You can investigate these by looking at your worn out belts. I’ve got lots of experience in this field so I might be able to help. Let’s exchange comms on IG mate! And also, I can make a video about this if you want to know the geeky stuff about abrasives 🥳😍

@@UKBladeshow I don't have any Cubitron IIs atm. I'll grab one next time I put an order in and get back to you :)

Sure man no rush. Just because I put in 784F Cubitron II doesn't mean I'm being biased towards it 😂 Joking apart, it really works wonders, you just need the right amount of pressure and a good decent contact surface behind it (platen pad or contact wheel) and it will do a fantastic job. I have tested it against a variety of different makes, even against different 3M belts too and the 784F is a great do-most-things belt.
