- Growing up, ALL fishermen are shown the ropes along the way. Some of us, are shown by our fathers, others by strangers. We take what we are taught, use it and learn from it. Along the way, we meet others and show them what we know. Eventually, we reach a point where we will become unable to continue.
Do not go that far, without sharing your knowledge with the next generation. Do not let the sum of all those decades be lost. Remember all the joy it brought you and know another kid may not have the opportunity, due to has dad didn't fish or teach him. Today's society is full of broken families and many kids do not have the opportunity. Like this kid, I cannot tell you how many moms ask me to teach their kid! Many of them, I am friends with long after they become adults and fish with them still, on occasion. I taught my little girl, and she won her 1st tournament at age 6 or 7, fishing in an age group of 5 to 12. She still fishes with the Daiwa combo she won back then.
That rod will go to her son Issac in a few years, as will the majority of my life's tackle collection.
It was great to see CheeseToast57 on video again. I wish him well 🤠🙏🇺🇲
Headed over to get him out again mid week. I'll show him this comment. He'll smile and laugh. Thanks man, made his day in advance
It was cool meeting you at Walmart today with my family. Like I said. You did inspired me to go camping by myself to coldbrook by myself. I’ve been following you for about 7 years now. Hope to see you again out in the wild someday. Lol
Great meeting you. I live near where we met, ever want to go camping fishing or anything, let me know
A great video Alan, it is always great to reminisce with the old memories of "the good old days." And they were very good old days indeed. Our world has not changed for the better unfortunately so acknowledging the old days with old friends and family is what helps get us through the days. You have lived your life to the fullest so you have done quite well for yourself I think. Thank you for continuing to share some of your time with us my friend, it is much appreciated and I feel privileged to have found your RUclips channel many years ago. Please keep doing what you are doing, see you on the next one.
thank you very much. I remember when Craig park opened, the at the time popular skateboards were a red, white and blue plexiglass board everyone made themselves at the boys club. We all had the same decks and grip tape on top, but trucks and wheels differed with the money you had. Criag Park has a very steep sidewalk, visible from the 57 freeway when southbound passing Imperial hwy. Many tried more ate it but only a few broke bones. Then one kid died and that was that. NO SKATING AT THAT PARK ever since.
I remember when Bill Dance was promoting his 'Dance's Eeel' lure ... Available at the local Kmart
I went into a second hand store a few years back and saw,
"the banjo minnow"' new in box, along with the vhs tape to teach you how to rig and fish it. They were asking "just $29.95"
Bro i respected you from the jump when I started following you years ago but this video brings the respect ten fold x1000 for helping your bud get out there and fish and helping the kiddo who showed up..
looking one way, feel old as dirt. on the other hand, I am still able to get out and make my way. I remember all the guys who helped me along the way, most are long gone but never forgotten. cheers
So wanted the kid to catch a Marlin!
I was hoping a fat ass bass would take it
Love this! Thank you!
Thanks for watching. If you're a fisherman, please take the time to both take an elder who can't get out any more or a kid just starting and put some time into showing them a great day
@PHARRAOH I do this as often as I can. Love to take new people to learn fishing.
Pleases me to help turn a new person on to fshing.
❤ 🙏
thanks for watching
New age Andy Griffith lol
If, I were, I'd be looking to get together with Charlene Darling, the girl from the kills who was dating Gilligan.
